AXA Philippines, one of the leading insurance providers in the country, recently won Health Insurance Initiative of the Year - Philippines at the Insurance Asia Awards 2022 , their latest health insurance offering, Health Care Access. The product stood out among other contenders who were judged based on their level of innovation, effectiveness, impact, and dynamism.Insurance Asia Awards is a prestigious event by Asian publication Insurance Asia that recognizes insurance firms that successfully navigate around various market challenges whilst keeping clients satisfied and maintaining their revenue. In 2021, AXA also won International General Insurer of the Year (Philippines) and the Mobile App of the Year for their Emma by AXA PH app in the Insurance Asia Awards.

“AXA has long been committed to protecting what matters most to our customers. We always want to be there for them, ready to cater to their needs. When the pandemic struck, the challenge of having access to affordable health protection became more apparent. This is why we wanted to expand our health protection offers to more Filipinos. So in 2021, AXA launched Health Care Access to address this. And the success of this product and the recognition from the Insurance Asia Awards is a testament to its relevance. Furthermore, it inspires us to continue innovating to provide health and financial security solutions to even more Filipinos,” said Gael Lapie, AXA Philippines CEO In-Charge and Chief Financial Officer.

AXA Health Care Access is AXA’s comprehensive and affordable health care plan, empowering Filipinos to take full responsibility for their long-term wellbeing by promoting a more proactive and prepared approach toward health. Health Care Access provides flexible and affordable health protection for individuals and all types of families to get the total health protection they need. It provides coverage for emergency care, inpatient care, life and accident insurance, and 24/7 teleconsultation. It also has a Longevity Health Fund that can be used for future medical needs starting at age 76 onwards, and offers an additional cash benefit that can be used for other medical expenses, or as income replacement if the policy holder is diagnosed with critical illness.

AXA Philippines partners with Oceanus Conservation

AXA has long been guided by its sustainability pillars centered around climate change and biodiversity, as well as inclusive protection. In the Philippines, the company has partnered with numerous groups and causes that share the same advocacy. This August, AXA Philippines is partnering with Oceanus Conservation, a science-based non-profit environmental organization focusing on the conservation and restoration of blue carbon habitats in the Philippines, to promote ocean literacy to Filipino children.

Being an archipelago, the Philippines has a rich biodiversity. However, access to marine environmental education remains limited around the country. Oceanus aims to invest in the future of Filipinos through marine environmental education in local communities and marine-field programs that promote better appreciation of the country’s marine life. Recently, they launched their second educational children’s storybook, “Ocean Adventures with Cory,” that shines a light on the impact of climate change on coral reefs.

For every AXA Philippines customer who will sign up, pay their premium for the first time, or do top-ups on Emma by AXA through the app or website from July 25 to August 31, AXA Philippines will donate ocean education storybooks to the children of Oceanus’ partner local communities through AXA Hearts in Action, AXA's volunteer program. Customers who successfully register to Emma by AXA will also receive an electronic certificate to commemorate their donation.

“As a company that is committed to sustainability, we always seek new ways to do our part in protecting the environment. Through this partnership, we hope to promote ocean education, make ocean literacy more accessible, and inspire the future generations to help protect our oceans,” shared Nandy Villar, AXA Philippines Chief Customer Officer.

Through Emma by AXA and AXA Hearts in Action, AXA Philippines aims to be an avenue that supports relevant social causes. Recently, they also had the “Adopt a Mangrove Seedling” program wherein mangroves were planted on behalf of customers. The company also organized a bayanihan drive in partnership with Cropital, a program that directly support local farmers, wherein AXA Philippines purchased rice from Cropital farmers and donated these to beneficiary communities.

Emma by AXA allows safe and convenient in-app transactions for AXA customers such as checking of policy information real-time and hassle-free filing of hospitalization and motor claims. Non-AXA customers can also get free 24/7 access to emergency services such as roadside, medical, fire, and police assistance. The app also allows users to contact their loved ones in case of emergencies quickly, letting them list up to three emergency contacts on the app.

Moreover, AXA customers can easily accomplish other essential transactions on the app, such as accessing their ePolicy, avail medical teleconsultation, and access their Global Health Access or Health Care Access eCard.

Emma by AXA can be downloaded on the Google Play or App Store. It can also be accessed via web. For more information, visit axa.com.ph/emma.

Tips to strengthen your immunity and physically become more active again

Two years into the pandemic, a lot of us may have adopted a sedentary lifestyle. According to a survey by the Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute in 2022, around 27 million Filipinos are overweight and obese, and this number is increasing at a rapid rate. Lack of physical activity can result in inconveniences such as back pains, muscle and joint pain, and feeling more tired and lethargic.

Now that quarantine measures are less stringent, we now have more opportunities to kickstart our fitness journey. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends having at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week for adults aged 18–64 years. And especially since COVID-19 cases can rise again anytime, strengthening your immunity by taking care of your overall physical health and wellbeing should be a priority that can even prove to be beneficial in the long run.

As a company concerned with people’s health and wellbeing, AXA Philippines, one of the leading insurance providers in the country, shares some fitness tips to slowly but surely become more active again:

Take breaks from sitting. Working from home has removed the physical effort of walking around an office and commuting to work. However, it is still easy to sneak in a few minutes of physical activity even for those already back in the office. As a general rule, experts say it is ideal to stand up and do some light activity after 30 minutes of sitting such as walking or stretching for at least five minutes.

Be creative with movement. Being physically active does not just mean doing aerobic exercises such as jumping jacks and push-ups. Doing your laundry, cleaning around the house, and walking your dog count as what experts call non-exercise activity thermogenesis and can expend as much energy as exercise does. Parents working from home can even find a quick and fun activity to do with their kids during the day so that the entire family could be active. You can also take the stairs more or find an outdoor activity such as having picnics or taking a bike tour during the weekend.

Find a physical activity you enjoy. Being at home also has the biggest advantage as it is easier to sneak in several minutes of workout than in an office. Find an activity that you truly enjoy whether that be running, swimming, dancing,, or cycling. For those working in the office, find a gym or club nearby that you could go to before or after work.  The goal is to be able to incorporate this activity into your lifestyle long-term so you have to make sure that what you are doing is enjoyable and accessible for you.

Don’t be too pressured by goals. While goals can be useful, confining yourself to a strict set of goals can sometimes make you feel pressured and can end up being a barrier to your fitness journey. Instead of setting big goals such as losing a certain weight by a certain date, focus instead on goals that build habits such as committing to exercise at least 30 minutes a day. This way, you can focus on smaller and more easily achievable goals that add up to take you to where you want your fitness level to be.

Find support. Having someone with you on your fitness journey can help you stay motivated. Find a friend who is also looking to improve their fitness, or  find a bonding activity that everyone in your familyenjoys.

Everyone will have varying fitness journeys and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to it– the important thing is to make movement a part of your daily routine. AXA Philippines Chief Customer Officer Nandy Villar says, “Proactively caring for your health is essential in achieving your goals and preserving your wellbeing not just for yourself but for your loved ones, too. From self-care to full medical care, we at AXA Philippines can be your expert partner in your wellbeing journey, protection of health, and continuity of care.”

For your health care needs, AXA Philippines offers Health Care Access, a comprehensive, flexible, and affordable health care plan for hospitalization and primary health care needs including emergency, preventive, and inpatient care. It also has perks such as 24/7 teleconsultation, a Longevity Fund that you can use for medical emergencies when you reach age 76 and up, and life and accident coverage up to P500,000. Meanwhile, Health Max gives you lifetime coverage for 56 major and 18 minor critical illnesses – including cancer, heart attack, and stroke until age 100. It offers various payment periods for flexibility, Advance Health Fund for medical emergencies, and life insurance.

Keep yourself and your family safe and protected by having a reliable partner like AXA Philippines to safeguard your overall health and wellbeing. Cebu Pacific partners with AXA Philippines with the launch of Piso Protect

The Philippines’ leading airline, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), recently announced its continued partnership with one of the country’s leading insurance providers, AXA Philippines, with the launch of Piso Protect, an affordable personal accident microinsurance for everyJuan.

Piso Protect Personal Accident microinsurance ensures everyJuan’s financial security, in case of accidents, that may result to injuries, disabilities, or death. With this product, the insured can get accidental death or permanent disablement coverage of up to P250,000, daily hospitalization coverage of P1,000 per day for a maximum of P5,000, and a surgical cash benefit of P5,000.

Flight purchase is not required to avail of Piso Protect. For as low as P1/day or P365/year, this easy on the pocket accident insurance can help cover the cost of hospitalization due to accidents.

The new offering comes at a critical time when the world is gradually transitioning to normalcy.  More people need accident insurance coverage, as accidents happen to nearly everyone anytime, anywhere. Hospitalization can be costly, that is why it is better to be prepared for these unforeseen instances.

“It has been our commitment to keep passengers’ safety and peace of mind our priority, and we are delighted to offer something relevant, valuable, and affordable, addressing needs that cover beyond travel,” said Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for Marketing and Customer Experience.

“We are happy to continue our partnership with CEB to offer affordable, high-value personal accident insurance that can help provide extra financial protection for all," said Nandy Villar, AXA Philippines Chief Customer Officer.

Choosing Piso Protect is readily available on the CEB website here https://bit.ly/CEBPisoProtect – once selected, customers will be redirected to AXA's website to complete purchase.

Piso Protect is just one of several products under this suite of lifestyle insurance packages offered by the CEB and AXA Philippines partnership. Back in September 2020, CEB and AXA Philippines were the first to offer non-travel insurance products in the Philippine aviation industry, with CEB Health Protect, insurance that provides coverage for top three critical conditions, namely cancer, stroke, and heart attack.

AXA Philippines offers important facts to know about leukemia

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world, particularly in developing countries like the Philippines as screening procedures are considered too difficult and costly to implement. In 2020, cancer was the second leading cause of death in the country at 62,300 deaths. Leukemia, the cancer of white blood cells, is among the most common types of cancer. Smoking, overexposure to radiation or carcinogenic chemicals, and certain genetic conditions such as Down Syndrome increase the risk of developing leukemia.

AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance providers, offers important facts to know about leukemia:

Types of leukemia. The types of leukemia are grouped according to how rapidly the disease develops (acute vs. chronic leukemia) and the type of blood cell involved (lymphocytic and myeloid leukemia). In acute leukemia, the abnormal cells increase rapidly, and the bone marrow cells are also unable to function normallyChildren aged three to five years old are the most common demographic to acquire this type of leukemia. With chronic leukemia, the cells can carry out some of their normal functions and the abnormal cells multiply at a slower rate. Lymphocytic leukemia involves growth abnormalities in the lymphocytes while myeloid leukemia affects the myeloid cells.

Symptoms to watch out for. Some of the warning signs include bleeding or bruising easily, weakness and fatigue, loss of appetite, weight loss, swollen or bleeding gums, bone or joint pain, anemia, and sweating especially at night.

How leukemia is diagnosed. To determine if a patient has leukemia after exhibiting signs and symptoms, a health care provider may do the following procedures: blood tests, MRI and bone marrow biopsy, and imaging tests such as x-rays, ultrasound, CT scan.

How to minimize the risk of developing leukemia. Avoiding or quitting smoking is the most significant avoidable risk factor. Aside from quitting smoking, other lifestyle adjustments that you can make include eating healthier and exercising moderately for 150 minutes every week. Also, it’s best to avoid overexposure to the sun, artificial tanning devices, x-rays, and benzene from gasoline fumes and emissions from some factories that can cause cell damage that may lead to cancer.

Leukemia mortality can be reduced if diagnosed and treated early. Diagnosis and treatment may come with a hefty price tag, as chemotherapy sessions alone average P120,000 per session.

To protect your health and finances, AXA Philippines offers Health Care Access, a comprehensive and affordable health care solution for hospitalization and other medical needs. Health Care Access comes with a Critical Illness Booster which provides additional cash benefit if one gets diagnosed with any of the 56 critical illness conditions including leukemia. When diagnosed, the additional cash benefit can be used for paying other medical expenses for treatment or income replacement. The policy also includes free access to 24/7 teleconsultation with a medical professional and a Longevity Health Fund that one can utilize for medical needs at age 76 onwards.

Health Care Access comes in two types: Health Care Access Prime and Health Care Access Lite. Health Care Access Prime provides comprehensive coverage of up to P5,000,000 annually. It also offers inpatient and outpatient care, and emergency care treatment up to the Annual Benefit Limit (ABL). This also includes an Annual Physical Exam starting from seven basic tests. The Annual Physical Exam helps with early detection and prevention in case of possible occurrence of any critical illnesses. Health Care Access Prime also offers life and accident insurance benefit of up to P500,000. On the other hand, Health Care Access Lite caters to people with existing healthcare plans but need additional health protection. Health Care Access Lite also includes life and accident insurance up to P500,000, and it can be enhanced with outpatient care, optical care, or dental care benefit for a small additional premium.

Secrets to successful tidying up and home improvement featured in first run of AXA Rewards Real Sessions

Clearing your house of clutter will not only free up space, but can also help you and your family sleep better and become more healthy and active. This is why, when your home is overrun with clutter, it’s time to take action and focus on getting organized so you can start the new year on a cleaner, healthier note.

This was the main message during the recent AXA Rewards Real Sessions workshop, organized by AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance providers. Real Sessions is a workshop series exclusively for AXA Rewards members that cover different aspects of life, all designed to help members achieve the life they want.

One of the perks of the rewards program is exclusive access to a series of workshops, the first of which was a talk on home improvement and decluttering by Christine Dychiao, the first certified Konmari consultant in the Philippines. Konmari is a simple but effective tidying method that helps people organize their homes and transform their lives. This was the first in the workshop series that will cover topics such as mental health, fitness and nutrition, financial empowerment, and more, happening throughout 2022.

Here are six KonMari rules of tidying that Dychiao shared during the online workshop:

Commit yourself to tidying up. Many people think that tidying up is a chore and something that takes too much time. But if you think about decluttering as a celebration - that you’re liberating yourself from clutter - you’ll be able to make more room for what truly matters. The less clutter you have, the more you can organize and lessen your stress. Committing at least three hours of your time a day to decluttering can go a long way.

Imagine your ideal lifestyle and space. A great way to start decluttering is by simply visualizing how the space will look, how you’d feel when moving in that space, and how you’d use that space. Do you want your books to be placed on a specific side of the room? Would you be staying in that space for a long period of time? It should be clear in your head on what the space will look like so you can organize it exactly the way you want.

Finish discarding first. A lot of people just move things around when they tidy up. They put the clutter on another bed, closet, drawer, or room, but it’s better to physically get the stuff out of the house. Ask yourself, “Do you really need this certain item that you haven’t used for a long time?” At some point, you have to let go of things that you don’t use anymore. You can donate them or practice regifting these items, just in time for the holiday season. This way, you can focus on things that really matter.

Tidy by category, not by location. When you simply tidy up the same things together, you’ll see how much clutter you have of that particular thing. If you have a lot of books or clothes, you’ll see piles when you’re decluttering. It may also help you realize that maybe you don’t want to spend more money on the same stuff. You can start with your clothes -- gather everything in one spot, and decide on what you want to keep. For your books, don’t just pull them off the shelf. You have to go through each book. Ask yourself these questions: Are you done reading this book already? Do you have a friend that you think may love that book? After organizing them in piles, simply put back the unused or unread books on your shelf.

Follow the right order. Start with the easy ones: books, clothes, papers. Then, you move on to the “komono” which translates as “miscellaneous.” And finally, end it with the sentimental items since these things are typically the hardest to let go of and you want to save them as long as you can.

Ask yourself if it “sparks joy.” When you can’t figure out what to do with an item, always ask yourself, “Does it spark joy?”, “Is it functional?”, “Does this thing give me fulfillment and will it bring joy in the long run?” The key is to surround yourself with things that ignite your happiness.

Once you’ve done tidied up, all you have to do now is make decluttering a habit in your life, and keep moving toward the decluttered, stress-free, and better life you want to live. Stay tuned for more life learning from upcoming Real Sessions next year.

AXA invites customers to donate to scholars via app sign-up

This holiday season, AXA Philippines, one of the leading insurance providers in the country, is giving Filipinos the opportunity to share the joy and protection of having health insurance through its new initiative, Emma Gives Back: Gift of Hope. AXA will donate 200 health insurance policies to Enfants Du Mekong scholars on behalf of those who will sign up for the Emma by AXA app from November 15 to December 15.

Enfants Du Mekong is a French charity organization that helps disadvantaged children finish their studies by sponsoring education programs. It has been in the Philippines since 1997, operating facilities in the cities of Tuguegarao, Dumaguete, Cebu, and Butuan with over 3,600 sponsored Filipino scholars.

Existing AXA customers who want to support the scholars just need to download and register on the Emma by AXA app, available via the App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei App Gallery. Along with the health plans, AXA will also donate holiday gift baskets to the scholars. Emma Gives Back: Gift of Hope is led by the company's corporate social responsibility arm, AXA Hearts in Action, which is dedicated to making a positive impact on social inclusion, climate change, health, and disease prevention.

“We launched this initiative to inspire everyone to embrace the spirit of gift-giving this holiday season, especially to the vulnerable communities. With just a few taps on their smartphone, you can give joy and the gift of health to deserving Enfants Du Mekong scholars during these challenging times,” said Rahul Hora, President and CEO of AXA Philippines.

Aside from being an avenue for social causes, the Emma by AXA app also offers free access to the AXA Rescue Line for 24/7 emergency assistance, including police, fire, ambulance and roadside assistance. The app feature, which is available to the public, also allows the user to contact their loved ones in cases of emergencies. AXA customers can also easily purchase or monitor their insurance policies online through the app.

Previously, AXA Philippines also launched an Emma by AXA app promo in partnership with Plastic Credit Exchange (PCEx) wherein AXA donated recyclable plastic materials to PCEx for every new customer sign-up, turning over 16 tons of plastic. Aside from that, the leading insurance company also partnered with Communities Organized for Resource Allocation (CORA) for the “Adopt a Mangrove Seedling” in-app promo wherein AXA planted mangrove seedlings on the customers’ behalf to help the environment.

AXA also implemented more socially responsible initiatives, such as the office-wide launch of paperless communications in 2020 wherein tons of paper will be saved every year since all transactions with customers are now sent electronically. Notifications are also sent via the Emma by AXA app or accessed via the Emma by AXA website.

AXA Philippines offers some tips to help you celebrate a healthy and safe Christmas season

After over a year of lockdowns, vaccinated Pinoy families are looking forward to having safe get-togethers with their friends and loved ones. However, as the pandemic still hangs over the holidays, it's still important to plan ahead and think about how we can celebrate safely and stay healthy. AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance providers, offers some tips to help you celebrate a healthy and safe Christmas season.

Planning your Christmas activities can help you and your family feel safer during the Holidays

Plan your Christmas activities thoroughly. Given how much there is to do during the holidays – from shopping to meal planning to decorating – planning strategically is key to celebrating a hassle-free holiday season. It pays to put careful thought into every detail of your holiday plans. For example, if you plan to host an intimate gathering, be sure to consider your party’s location, the duration, the number of guests, safety protocols, and if your guests are vaccinated already. These considerations will help you and your guests feel safer during your time together, and will help all of you become more relaxed and ready to enjoy the festivities.

Travel safely. After being cooped up for so long, you probably can’t wait to pack your bags and plan a trip to visit your loved ones. But as you make plans, book your flights, or hit the road, you want to make sure that you’ll be safe on your trip. Before traveling, it’s better to get vaccinated first and check the travel restrictions and safety protocols of the place you’re planning to visit. Most importantly, be prepared for any emergency that might happen on your trip. The Emma by AXA app provides safety and peace of mind for Filipinos with its Rescue Line feature, which offers free 24/7 access to police, ambulance, fire, and roadside assistance. With the app, you’ll be automatically connected to a Rescue Line operator who will help you with your emergency. You can also immediately notify your loved ones through SMS in case of an emergency with the emergency contact alerts feature. The Rescue Line feature can be used by anyone, not just for AXA policyholders.

Rid yourself of financial stress. Don’t have an emergency fund? Not sure how you’ll pay for all your essentials and holiday shopping? A lack of basic financial security can make it much harder to feel happy and can add stress to your life. However, the challenge usually lies is not knowing how to start. Gift yourself with essential life skills via AXA’s What’s Your Game Plan FinLit activities, where you can learn helpful financial tactics from experts, including budgeting, saving, and investmenting. Follow AXA Philippines’ Facebook page to see when the next What’s Your Game Plan webinar will be.

Have your future insured and planned out. The gift of health, safety, and security can be one of the most special gifts we can give to ourselves and to our loved ones. To help ensure that Filipinos can welcome the holidays and the upcoming new year with health and security in mind, AXA Philippines offers Health Care Access, a comprehensive and affordable health care plan for hospitalization and medical needs. This package also offers a Critical Illness Booster for additional cash benefit for the treatment of 56 critical illnesses, a Longevity Fund that you can tap for medical needs at age 76 and up, as well as life and accident coverage up to P500,000. Depending on your chosen plan, outpatient care, optical care, or dental care benefits are also included or can be added.

With these tips from AXA Philippines, you can celebrate the holidays, knowing that you and your loved ones can be healthy, safe, and ready for the year ahead. To know more about AXA’s offerings for every need, visit axa.com.ph.

AXA helps raise global investing literacy with new video series

The pandemic has resulted in volatile market conditions, and it's during these times when diversification of investments is especially important. Investing globally is one of the best ways to diversify because it spreads out one's investment to other markets, thus lowering risks while also capitalizing on growth in other countries.

So why are many Filipinos still reluctant to invest globally? It's possible that some still find the idea abstract, or may not be familiar with available options, while others may just want to stick with what feels comfortable. However, if we don't overcome these barriers, we lose the opportunity to take advantage of the growth that global investing offers.

In its bid to equip more Filipinos with the knowledge and the confidence to venture into global investing, AXA Philippines, one of the country's leading insurance providers, has collaborated with Wealth Arki for a new five-part YouTube webisode series on global investing. Wealth Arki is a Philippine-based company which aims to help people achieve wealth through proper financial planning and money management.

"Online video content channels are one of the most effective social media platforms to capture a wider audience and educate them on how to be more financially secure and independent. We hope to continue our financial literacy education and empower Filipinos through this content partnership with Wealth Arki," said AXA Philippines president and CEO Rahul Hora.

Featuring AXA Philippines investment solutions director Dexter Agcaoili, the five-part video series can be streamed on AXA Philippines' YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/AXAPHofficial).

Each episode was produced to explain fundamental concepts that are relevant to global investing. Experts will give concrete examples and talk about their own investing experiences to further enrich the audience's knowledge and simplify complex topics.

The first two episodes, "Difference between global and local investing" (https://youtu.be/J2Q3QZBAUaI) and "Reasons to invest in international markets" (https://youtu.be/2q00XP4gyXA), discuss the prospects of investing in international markets, and the benefits and risks associated with it. Meanwhile, the third and fourth episodes, "Tips on choosing the right investment" (https://youtu.be/Yq5FlqHSWXU), and "Importance of time horizons" (https://youtu.be/Wyam_5tjEEM) delve deeper into the importance of risk profiling, asset allocation, and the concept of time horizon to determine what is the appropriate investment solution for each investor. Lastly, the fifth episode, "Different ways to invest globally" (https://youtu.be/a1KxFuBUE8U), tackles not only the different strategies to enter the global markets, but also gives valuable advice on how to get started the right way.

If you want to make the most of your money and aspire to invest globally, be sure to check out and subscribe to AXA Philippines' YouTube page to watch all five episodes discussing global investing. And to stay up-to-date on AXA's upcoming financial literacy initiatives, follow @AXA.Philippines on Facebook and Instagram.

Customers can now diversify in global investments and switch funds seamlessly from local to global funds

Investing always comes with a certain level of risk, and one of the considerations of an investor when choosing where to invest is how he can balance the likelihood of achieving investment success while also being able to mitigate risks. No one knows for certain which investments or which markets will perform better in the future, so by spreading out investment options, you minimize the risk of losses in the event of market downturns.  Also, as the recent market events have shown, some countries respond to crisis better than others. With that, diversification also means putting your eggs in various baskets, or in this case, various other economies.

Now, diversification is easier with AXA Philippines’ Peso-Denominated Dollar Funds, a new investment vehicle that gives customers access to global investments with one’s peso-denominated insurance policy.

“The Peso-Denominated Dollar Funds make global investing more accessible for Filipinos. With this and AXA’s financial advisors, we can guide more customers in diversifying through global investing and help them achieve their life goals more conveniently,” said Rahul Hora, AXA Philippines president and chief executive officer.

Customers can now diversify in global investments and switch funds seamlessly from local to global funds. The Peso-Denominated Dollar Funds comes with the Global Advantage Fund (GAF), which allows you to ride on the momentum of leading technology companies like Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon. Investors can take advantage of the trends in digital innovation as these US technology companies lead the global trend.

Also included among the Peso-Denominated Dollar Funds is the Global Dynamic Allocation Fund-Growth, which gives investors access to global equities in different parts of the world such as in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and emerging markets.  It is managed by AXA’s global asset managers, which actively allocates in different regions, economies, and industries to create a fully diversified investment solution. Because of its diverse scope, the GDAF-Growth is not reliant on one country or one industry in finding investment opportunities. The fund automatically re-balances its allocation in different countries and industries to adjust to market conditions and avoid adverse market movements.

Access to these global investments will be available under the peso policy through various AXA Philippines products such as Asset Master and MyLifeChoice.

Asset Master is a one-time payment insurance and investment plan. Aside from the opportunity to put your money in international funds, Asset Master comes with 125% guaranteed life insurance benefit on your investment that will help you secure your legacy for generations to come. Likewise, MyLifeChoice is a protection and investment plan that allows policyholders to personalize their policies according to their unique needs and priorities and with the help of a financial advisor. It comes with a Start-up Bonus on day one of your policy, which is equivalent to 70 percent of your first year premium invested in an AXA fund when you keep your investment for the long term.

Artificial Intelligence reshapes the insurance industry

AXA Philippines recently participated in the online regional roundtable discussion “Innovating with AI Technologies and Data Analytics” hosted by the Asia Internet of Things, Business Platform (AIBP) Focus, and Dell Technologies. Abby Oliva-Cenzon, AXA Philippines Director for Transformation and Technology Strategic Portfolio, joined the discussion as one of the key panelists and shared insights about AI’s significant and imminent changes in the insurance industry as companies evolve to insurance technology or insurtech.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized the insurance industry by helping insurance providers deliver more efficient, effective, and personalized products and services to customers, the discussion revealed.

“Insurtech companies now use technological innovations like AI to redesign the current insurance model, looking to seek more savings and efficiency. Through these innovations, they are looking to offer ultra-customized policies, social insurance and dynamic price premiums,” said Cenzon.

She also shared that since the implementation of AI in the banking and finance industry, insurers have gained a competitive advantage in underwriting, improved claims management, and data-driven development of new insurance products.

“AI widens the scope of data sources that underwriters can use for their evaluations. AI uses big data analytics, allowing to dig deeper visibility into customers’ risk profiles, personally tailoring premiums. AI-based underwriting solutions enable insurers to deliver hyped and customized offerings, resulting in a swift price optimization,” she said.

Moreover, AI has accelerated the time it takes for a customer to buy a policy or settle a claim.

Cenzon added that by leveraging on AI technologies, AXA Philippines was able to establish its Social Media Command Centres. Another application that AXA Philippines uses to deliver faster customer service is MyAXA, a mobile app that allows customers to view their policy details, download policy documents, and make specific policy changes.

Moreover, the company’s Emma by AXA PH app serves as AXA Philippines AI chat bot partner that enables anyone to access AXA Rescue Line for free 24/7 emergency assistance, as well as allows customers to easily file claims and buy insurance online.

When it comes to embracing and utilizing AI, Cenzon also stated that insurance, banking, and financial technology (fintech) industries should work hand in hand to help traditional banks adjust and adapt to AI.

“Partnering with financial technology companies or fintechs can help expand the reach of the various types of available technologies. Instead of viewing them as competitors, AXA Philippines works closely together with fintechs from the FinTech Group of the Philippines where we help each other to adapt and scale,” Cenzon said.

Rapid advances in technologies especially in the next decade will lead to major changes in the insurance industry. AI will continue to redefine the insurance industry, carrying new technologies to create innovative products, harness cognitive learning insights from new data sources, and exceed customer expectations for individualization and dynamic adaptation.

Indeed, according to Cenzon, digital transformation in insurtech is “a game changer on how we see the insurance industry today and in the future.”

Other panelists who were also at the virtual roundtable included industry leaders, namely Dell Technologies Senior Director for Data Center & Compute Solutions Chin Wah Mak, Citibank Vice President and Global Program Manager for CXRam Kishore Jaladanki, and Microsoft Sales Director for Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence – APAC Karthikeyan Rajasekharan.
