Let the arm party begin with Huawei smart watch

I have been collecting watches since I first bought my first Betty Lou Flik Flak Swatch with my first hard earned salary.  I have around 35 watches. I am not choosy with brands, if I love the style I go buy it, I have it in sport, vintage, leather, big, dive, quirky and tech.   My favorite go-to-style is the big watch.  I have been sporting the big face style for almost 5 years now,  I love that chunky feel in my wrist. It has become my fashion staple, it accessorizes everything I wear.  I love that Mens watch adds fierce to my overall style.

I never thought I would be owning a smart watch as early as December as I am contemplating on buying another brand next year but when my name was called in a random raffle at Huawei Smart watch launched last December 7 at Green Sun. I knew it!  I would be sporting the timeless looks and smart features in a timepiece this 2016.

What I love about the Huawei Watch is that it works on both iOS and Android. Powered by Google’s proprietary Android Wear, it receives SMS, email, calendar, app, and phone call notifications has never been easier or more convenient than this wearable.

The long wait is finally over, as the smart watch everyone has been raving about since its big reveal at the Mobile World Congress in March finally arrives in the Philippines.

The fully circular watch features a 1.4-inch touch-sensitive AMOLED display, scratch-proof sapphire crystal lens, cold-forged stainless steel frame, and comes with a built-in heart rate monitor and 6-Axis motion sensors.

Powered by Android Wear, the Huawei Watch represents the next evolutionary step for the brand in terms of wearable technology.

Designed by a team of experienced watch designers that have a rich history in creating fashionable and timeless watches, the attention-to-detail becomes apparent upon first glance with its full circle “swiss inspired” design.  The quality of materials used all around puts elevates the Huawei Watch in another category of class.

Charles Wu, Huawei Country Manager

“This is the first smartwatch in the Huawei wearable family and is also the first watch on the market that truly bridges the gap between fashion and technology. As part of our expanding line of premium wearable products, the Huawei Watch was designed and created to enhance and be part of the consumer’s everyday lives. It is our response to consumers requests who are looking for a smartwatch that combines timeless design and truly usable features, says Charles Wu, country manager of Huawei’s consumer business group.

“The Huawei Watch continues our commitement ‘Make It Possible,’ as we deliver a truly premium smartwatch that is technologically innovative allowing you to coordinate with your smartphone whether it is Android or iOS,” says Wu.

Timeless Design

Made of more than 130 components, the Huawei Watch has all the traditional elements of a classic watch, including a crown, frame and hinge built from high-quality and scratch resistant cold-forged stainless steel making it 40 percent harder. The polished 42mm stainless steel body comes in at 11.3mm thick, which makes it slim and very comfortable to wear. The body of the watch is also both corrosion and scratch-resistant. Unlike most regular watches, the Huawei Watch places its crown at the intuitive 2 o’clock press button, offering the highest levels of control and comfort to the user.

The Huawei watch features a range of rose gold, stainless steel and black frames to choose from, as well as a variety of bespoke watch face designs, across a range of classic, luxury, business, feminine, modern and simple aesthetics. The choice of straps includes stainless steel mesh, stainless steel links, rose gold, and black-plated stainless steel links, and brown and black leather. Easy to change, they will fit any watch strap with 18mm width giving you countless customization options.

Smart Within, Dual Compatibility

The Huawei watch is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 or higher, and is powered by a Qualcomm 1.2GHz processor for optimal performance. It also includes 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and Bluetooth 4.1 support.

When paired with your smartphones, the Huawei watch enables you to stay connected wherever you are, with instant notifications on incoming calls, texts, instant messages and emails. Bluetooth connectivity allows wireless headphone usage, and offline music download support. Music can be started via voice commands, with users able to search for destinations and navigate their way there using the same voice actions. Locating missing phones has never been easier than with the watch’s “find my phone” function.

More than just a fashion statement the Huawei watch is also perfect for the sports enthusiast, or just those interested in tracking fitness levels.  It features a heart rate monitor sensor, which can accurately measure heart rates. The sensor protrudes slightly for better skin contact and greater accuracy. With its 6-Axis motion sensor, gyroscope and accelerometer the Huawei watch can detect and track, in real-time, if a user is walking, running, biking, hiking or sleeping. Specifically, users can monitor everything from the number of calories burned, to heart rate, climbing height, steps taken, and distance travelled.

To encourage consumers to live happier and healthier lives, Huawei is developing a wearable’s health and lifestyle ecosystem that will help users set goals and track their progress. Huawei has partnered with several app developers including Jawbone, to strengthen the Huawei Health Ecosystem and create more health and fitness apps that will encourage users to live healthier lifestyles.

“As more consumers demand more than just connectivity, Huawei takes the lead in wearable technology. Huawei has invested a lot of research and development to make sure that we are able to combine the best in technology and innovation with premium materials and a classic look and feel.
As wearable devices become one of the most significant trends in the device industry, we are making use of Huawei’s expertise in technology and innovation to become the leader in the wearable space.”

The Huawei Watch Classic retails for PhP19,990.00 while Huawei Watch Active retails for PhP 23,990.00  Both models come with a 2-year warranty. The Huawei Watch will be available starting December 10 at Huawei Experience Store and brand shops, and online via Zalora.

“Innovation has always been in the DNA of Huawei, fearlessly envisioning cutting edge technologies,” said Charles Wu, Country Head of Huawei Technologies Philippines. “But rather than innovate just for innovations sake, Huawei creates innovations that serve as tools to realize the vision and passion of its consumers.”

The 110-sqm Huawei Experience Store is designed with simple, all white, minimalist interiors that reflect the “Huawei and I” philosophy, which aims to establish better engagements with end-users.

The result is a space that is both inviting and relaxing with a well-designed store layout. It guarantees you to quickly find the device you are looking for. The store likewise engages your visual and auditory senses with the top-of-the-line fixtures on the ceilings, the fit-outs, and the long stretch of audiovisual output that highlights the lifestyle themes of the shop.

More than just a store where families, students, and professionals can shop and learn more about Huawei’s innovations, the experience store also is positioned as a place where you can get some expert opinions.

“Knowledgeable sales people are available to help consumers learn about all the latest products from Huawei and test the best features of each device and guide them in choosing the best device according to their specific needs and passion,” says Jojo Vega, Consumer Business Group Director of Huawei Technologies Philippines.

The hands-on Huawei store experience provides visitors with a chance to try Huawei’s entire product line such as the new Huawei MateS that revolutionize the power of touch with its Knuckle Sense 2.0 and Fingerprint Sense 2.0 technologies. Shoppers can try the Beautification 3.0 Technology of the newly launched Huawei G8. This first-of-its-kind feature allows users to enhance images with various makeup styles and preview the effects in real time with a single touch.

The store also showcases the much awaited most stylish Android watch Huawei Watch and the Google’s best smartphone to date the Huawei Nexus 6P.

Another attraction in the store is the Huawei Powerbike, a consumer engagement activity that highlights the power saving advantage of Huawei brought about by its telecommunications network superiority.

“Filipino consumers have shown tremendous affinity for our devices, as translated to Huawei’s impressive market share growth every year. Today, and more than ever, we are bullish that with the increasing platforms to engage our consumers everyday, their trust in our brand and our mutual connections will continue to grow,” added Vega.

With the opening of the Huawei Experience Store, Huawei now has 40 brand stores and 32 kiosks and lounges all over the country. The brand targets 60 brand shops by the end of the year.

Huawei launches its 4th brand in SM Southmall

Huawei opens 4th brand shop in SM Southmall

A new Huawei brand shop has been opened in SM Southmall, Las Piñas City due to the growing demand for Huawei devices in the city and in southern Metro Manila.

The new shop is located on the third floor of SM Cyberzone. Huawei’s aggressive expansion makes this its fourth brand shop in the country in less than two months. Designed to be highly experiential, the store has interactive areas where shoppers can try Huawei devices – 3G/4G LTE smartphones, tablets, and mobile broadband devices, among others – at their own pace.

“The Brand Shop further strengthens the retail offering of Huawei and gives shoppers an opportunity to avail of the very best of accessible premium devices,” said Charles Wu, Huawei Device Philippines country manager. “And our brand of consumer device shopping is significantly different as we want them to really experience Huawei’s brand essence the moment they step into the store.”

Operated by MemoXpress, the new Huawei shop takes after the brand’s signature premium, clean, and comfortable feel and look.

Started operating in May 2014, the other two brand shops in Metro Manila are located in SM North EDSA and SM Megamall. Early this month, Huawei opened its first store outside Manila in Ayala Centrio Mall, Cagayan de Oro City. Additional stores are set to open in the coming months.

To celebrate the shop’s opening, Huawei hosted a road show and gave Huawei goodies and surprises to those who participated. A groufie kiosk also delighted guests as groups of friends posed for groufies using the recently launched Huawei Ascend P7. Equipped with an 8MP 5P non-spherical lens front-facing camera, the Ascend P7 is especially designed to capture the perfect panoramic selfie or groufie shot.

Snap every special, spontaneous moment of your life before they are gone. With the innovative 1.2 second Ultra Snapshot function and voice-activated snapping function of Ascend P7, you’ll never miss a special moment. Huawei Ascend P7's unique Ultra Snapshot function enables the user to be camera-ready 1.2 seconds after double-clicking the down volume button intuitively while in locked mode, instead of spending time trying to unlock the screen.

The Ascend P7 embodies excellent craftsmanship with edge as the sleek unit features a high-powered combination of 4G LTE and Huawei’s unique dual antenna, which greatly improves signal reception and allows users to enjoy unlimited media viewing. The 6.5mm-thick, five-inch full-HD phone also provides enhanced strength and durability against everyday use with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 front and rear covers.
