AP Partylist with Coco Martin shows support for VP Leni

After announcing their support for the presidential run of Vice President Leni Robredo during the #Pasiglaban Grand Rally held last March 20, Sunday in Pasig City, Coco Martin’s AP Partylist continued their campaign for Robredo at the Reporma Davao People’s Grand Rally in Tagum, Davao last week April 7.

The AP Partylist campaigned with Moira and Jason, serenading the crowd before Robredo’s arrival at the event.

AP Partylist #AkoyPilipino is the new partylist of primetime king Coco Martin. While previously affiliated with another partylist with the same name as his primetime show, Coco Martin is now all-out in supporting his new partylist with first nominee Rep. Ronnie Ong, also previously-affiliated with Martin’s old partylist. Ong and Martin decided to represent a new partylist after working together during the pandemic in helping the transport and livelihood sector.

Coco Martin says, “‘Wag nang mangamba, nandito na ang AP Partylist. Dito na tayo sa biyaheng aasenso ang lahat ng Pilipino,” in encouraging his fellow Filipinos to join him in his new partylist, AP Partylist.

During the introduction of the new blended learning system, or online and module classes last August 2020, Ong worked with VP Leni Robredo’s office for their e-learning project. “We also had similar projects with her. We also launched a Libreng Sakay program for health workers and frontliners, as well as establishing E-skwela Hub e-learning centers all over the country to help learners and students adapt to the new normal of classes," Ong said. "How we work, how we serve, and how we care for our kababayans at AP Partylist aligns with hers, and that’s why AP Partylist, together with our whole family which includes Coco Martin and the Taskforce Agila, supports the Leni Robredo presidential campaign."

Aside from Coco Martin, AP Partylist is also supported by Julia Montes and the famed “Taskforce Agila” which includes Angel Aquino, John Prats, Raymart Santiago, Michael de Mesa, John Medina and Marc Solis. Meanwhile, the inspiring Ako’y Pilipino anthem of AP Partylist was created and performed by rapper artists Bryan “Smugglaz” Lao, Lordivino “Bassilyo” Ignacio and Muriel “Sisa” Jamito. With barely a month to go until election day, AP Partylist has vowed to continue their support for VP Leni Robredo’s campaign.

As what AP Partylist chanted to the crowd in the Davao People’s Grand Rally, “Dito na tayo sa biyaheng aasenso ang lahat ng Pilipino… dahil sa gobyernong tapat, angat-buhay ang lahat!”

Actresses Heart Evangelista and Nadine Lustre are Kakampinks!

Heart, Nadine Kakampinks? Netizens Think So

Actresses Heart Evangelista and Nadine Lustre are Kakampinks!

This was the collective sentiment of netizens after the two posted about Vice President Leni Robredo on their respective social media accounts.

On her Instagram account, Evangelista posted a video of her while trying on pink clothes, accompanying it with the caption “On Wednesdays we wear pink.”

Pink is associated with Robredo, whose supporters call themselves “Kakampinks.” Robredo’s supporters also conduct various activities, such as feeding program, and wear pink on Wednesdays.

“Yessss!!! Kakampink. Oragon talaga ika Heart,” said Instagram user @gemma_adventure.

“#kakampink tayo,” commented another Instagram user @francesmayr.

Lustre, for her part, posted a photo of Robredo’s mural at the Leni-Kiko Volunteer Center in Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

While this was not the first time she expressed support for Robredo’s presidential bid, this was the first time that she posted something about the Vice President on her social media account.

Amid the rise in COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant, Robredo has provided Filipinos with free testing, telemedicine and COVID-19 kits to the public.

When Typhoon Odette hit several areas of the country recently, Robredo was the first to personally inspect the damage and distribute relief goods to affected areas. She also initiated a donation drive for affected residents and committed to assist in the restoration of damaged areas.

Philam Paaralan provides new facilities at Severo High School

Severo High School Grade 10 students experience the comfort of the new facilities provided by the Philam Paaralan classrooms.

Barangay Burabod is a secluded area located at the foot of Mt. Isarog in Calabanga, Camarines Sur. Because of its remoteness and distance from the urban areas of the municipality, students in Barangay Burabod had to hike 5 kilometers to be able to reach the nearest school.

Upon visiting the area a few years ago, former Camarines Sur Representative and now Vice President Leni Robredo had a chance to speak with Burabod’s Barangay Captain Roberto C. Cabaltera. They looked for possible ways to bring education closer to students and put up a secondary school in the location. After enlisting the support of various LGUs and government agencies, Severo High School in Burabod – named after Eduardo A. Severo, who generously donated a one-hectare lot – finally opened its doors to 123 enrollees last June 2014.

As fate would have it, Typhoon Glenda hit the Philippines that same year, and devastated areas of Camarines Sur. Severo High School was severely damaged, leaving its teachers, students and entire community in dire need to repair its classrooms with the hope to make it far sturdier than the original construction.

Not known to the people of Brgy. Burabod, events were already unfolding to address their need. Philam Foundation was coordinating with the Department of Education in identifying areas that were most in need of new classrooms under its “Philam Paaralan” program. Its goal was to build classrooms in calamity-stricken and under-served communities. When Robredo explained the situation of Severo High School to Philam Foundation President Max Ventura, construction plans began to unfold.

Apart from rehabilitation work that needed to be done, Philam Foundation successfully built two new Philam Paaralan classrooms for Severo Highschool, in partnership with the Happy Hearts Fund.

“The act of physically building an educational structure is such a metaphor for deeper, more profound things,” explained Ventura. “Ultimately, we are building the knowledge of our youth and securing their future. Philam Foundation is thankful to all our partners and everyone who made it possible,” he added.

The new Philam Paaralan classrooms can accommodate approximately 100 students. “We were intentional in the way we designed these classrooms, taking into consideration the risk of calamities,” Ventura pointed out. “These classrooms are typhoon-proof and built using the latest steel frame technology. Students of Severo High school can now concentrate on their lessons and academic work with no need to worry when the rains come.”

“Aside from having typhoon-resilient structures, our classrooms are fully-furnished with water sanitation and hygiene facilities that will promote cleanliness and healthy living among students,” Ventura concluded.

Established in 1997 to commemorate Philam Life's 50th Golden Anniversary, Philam Foundation, Inc. is the social development arm of the Philam Group of Companies. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization committed to serve the less privileged in society. To learn more about the Philam Foundation, visit www.philamlife.com.
