I’m excited to be back with the Jollibee family and this homecoming is extra special because this time, I’ll be with my own family. Together with my husband and kids, I feel that we’re going to have the time of our lives sharing the langhap-sarap world of Jollibee with everyone,” she says.

Jollibee Had the Grandest Picnic at Pampanga

Jollibee held its Family Bee day in 5 locations nationwide on May 10, 2014 at the Quirino Grandstand in Metro Manila, Bayanihan Park in Pampanga, Nuvali Football Grounds in Laguna, Plaza Independencia in Cebu, and Crocodile Park in Davao. I had fun at the Bayanihan Park Pampanga  where families trekked and enjoyed the presence of Julia Barreto, Rayver Cruz,  Shaina Magdayao and 6CyleMind.  The show was hosted by Chico and Delamar. Everyone flocked and  gathered inside the park to celebrate and spend quality time with their loved ones amidst the summer heat with their Jollibee mats and food.




Thousands of families converged in five different venues across the country and enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon during Jollibee’s Family Bee Day, dubbed as the grandest picnic ever!

Gerald Anderson, Julie Ann San Jose and Sponge Cola thrilled families and friends at the Plaza Independencia while Maja Salvador, Slater Young and Imago entertained Jollibee Family Bee Day picnic-goers at the Crocodile Park.

Celebrities Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi, Regine Tolentino, and Vince and Patricia Hizon also came with their families to have a picnic.

Local stilt walkers and jugglers paraded around the different venues while dance performances from Jollibee and friends, Jollibee Kids Club members and leading dance crews kept the excitement up throughout the afternoon picnic. While the kids had a grand time playing at the inflatable slide and basketball shootout, families also enjoyed posing by the giant picnic basket and special photo frame wall installations to capture the fun moments. Before the day ended, photos from the event already made the rounds on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter sites with the hashtag #FamilyBeeDay.

Online gamers for Massive Gaming (massive.ph) in partnership with GAMEX and SMART COMMUNICATIONS (gamex.ph) flocked Cyberzone SM North Edsa on May 9, 2014 for GameX MERCS FINAL TOURNAMENT.


Massive Gaming is among the new breed of  online game publishers with a couple of exciting FPS games in its roster including Mercenary Online and WarRock.

The GameX Mercs tournament was a nine (9) month long tournament across more than 500 professional and amateur teams (2,500 gamers) who joined the battle from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.  Fifteen (15) teams for Mercenary Online and Sixteen (16) teams for WarRock managed to survive the online elimination carnage that battled it out on a live stage in front of thousands of fans cheering them on. With the champion taking home not only bragging rights, the teams will also enjoy a total of PHP 300,000.00 in cash, game merchandise, in-game items, custom trophies and awesome gaming gear courtesy of Steel Series.

It was an action packed day as the player community showed up in droves to support their favourite teams and participate in the many activities on-going at the event. During the event, Alodia also launched her newest in-game Alodia character.  A wind goddess, the specially designed character for Alodia is for Massive Gaming’s latest Battle Arena game, “Dragon Fist Tournament” (dragonfist.ph) which can only be acquired thru the GameX Portal (gamex.ph). Massive Gaming also introduced its latest game to its line up a, “The Aurora World” (aurora.ph) a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game with massive PVP modes to play in.


The GameX MERCENARY ONLINE tournament was finalized with the 3rd placer (PHP 30,000.00) being ANBU from Paranaque City and the 2nd place (PHP 70,000.00) also the strong [A]NBU from Quezon City who were previous top placers in our previous nationwide tournament. Finally our champion and winner of the PHP 100,000 cash prize was an upstart clan, Relevant from Pasig who was a relative a tournament newbie however finished very strong beating [A]NBU at a 7 – 0 score.

Finally the 1st place Supreme Champion (PHP 30,000.00), Locusts Inspired from Metro Manila wins versus Hostility Cebu from Bacolod at a final score of 9 – 3 earning them the 2nd place (PHP 20,000.00) slot. The Clan Locusts truly dominated this tournament with 2 of out their 5 participating teams placing!

ELLE FANNING IS PRINCESS AURORA IN “MALEFICENT”



If Maleficent has long been a symbol of the dark feminine, the character Aurora has always symbolized the light and innocent. In casting the role of the Princess who falls under Maleficent’s spell, the filmmakers of Walt Disney Pictures' “Maleficent” chose one of the most talented actresses of her generation, Elle Fanning.

“Elle is Aurora,” comments Angelina Jolie, who plays the title character. “From the moment I met her, she is just sunshine. She’s a wonderful, sweet, intelligent young woman.”

“Elle is fantastic and I have nothing but the highest respect for her,” adds her director, Robert Stromberg. “She’s not only beautiful but she’s a tremendous actress; she’s going to be doing wonderful things in the future and she’s a pleasure to work with on the set. She just brings a smile to everyone.”


“Maleficent” explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty” and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

For Fanning, winning this role was a dream come true. “It’s been sort of everything that I dreamed of,” says the young actress. “I think from the moment of putting on her first outfit, getting the hair and everything, it’s been really special to get to play such an iconic character.”


Although most people know Aurora as Sleeping Beauty from Disney’s classic animated film of the same name, Fanning reveals that in “Maleficent” audiences will get to find out more about her. “In our film you get to see her have different emotions and really get the essence of her,” says Fanning. “I love how she’s very free spirited, and since she has been kept away from normal life, she’s very open to things and innocent. But that’s what makes her very likable and charming.”

Fanning approached playing the beloved fairytale character with the feeling that she wanted to do her justice and find her persona. “Before we started filming the movie, I watched the animated movie again, just to see if I could pick up on any little mannerisms that she did while she’s in the forest, and when she brought those little princess elements,” informs Fanning. “I wanted to make her have those elements but also make her a real person, not just an animated character.”

Having the opportunity to work with Angelina Jolie on the film was exciting for the teenager. “It’s really been amazing,” enthuses Fanning. “I remember meeting her for the first time in London. I had never met her before, and she gave me a big hug. She said we were just going to have so much fun together. And we did have a lot of fun. It’s been great.”

“When Gareth and I first talked about the film, he told me to forget that it was a big monster movie,” recalls the actor. “I loved what Godzilla meant to him, and that he wanted to bring him to the screen in a big disaster spectacle, but to tell the story with a high level of artistry and emotion. That’s what made me want to do this project, and Gareth made the experience incredibly special.”
Taylor-Johnson takes on the central role of Ford Brody, a Naval officer specializing in disarming bombs, who has just reunited with his wife and young son in San Francisco when he is called away to help his troubled father in Japan.

“Ford is the hero of our film and sees a lot of action,” Edwards comments. “And because so much of the storytelling is visual, it was critical that we understand what he’s thinking and feeling, so we needed an actor capable of communicating a lot in a single look. I’d seen ‘Nowhere Boy,’ in which Aaron played John Lennon, and it was such a soulful performance. There was so much intensity and emotion behind his eyes. I knew from that moment we’d found the guy.”

Ford’s expertise at disarming bombs draws him to the frontlines of humanity’s united defense against the greatest threat it has ever faced, but he's torn between duty and the need to find and protect his young family. “He’s the kind of specialist the military needs and it’s all hands on deck,” Taylor-Johnson explains. “At the same time, his mission is to get back to his family, and his work in the military becomes the only way he can maneuver himself closer to San Francisco. But it’s heartbreaking because he knows he might not make it home at all.”


Ford carries with him the weight of an incident from his childhood that tore his family apart 15 years earlier, when he lived with his parents in Japan. But the events leading up to that fateful day in 1999 originate farther south, in the Philippines, where the film begins. A remote mine in a Philippine jungle collapses, revealing beneath it the fossilized, highly radioactive remains of something very big and very old.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is currently working on Joss Whedon’s action adventure “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” in which he joins the super hero ensemble as Quicksilver. The film is slated for release in 2015.

He came to prominence in the title role of Sam Taylor-Wood’s 2009 feature “Nowhere Boy,” portraying future Beatle John Lennon during the musician’s turbulent teenage years. His riveting performance earned him a London Critics’ Circle Film Award nomination for Young British Performer of the Year, a British Independent Film Award nomination for Best Actor, and the Empire Award for Best Newcomer. Screen International also named the young actor as one of its “Stars of Tomorrow.”


Taylor-Johnson followed this triumph the following year, starring in Matthew Vaughn’s hit movie “Kick-Ass,” for which he earned another Empire Award nomination, this time for Best Actor. Based on the Mark Millar comic, the film also starred Nicolas Cage, Chloe Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The director and cast reteamed for the sequel, “Kick-Ass 2,” which hit theaters in the summer of 2013.

His recent film work also includes starring roles in Oliver Stone’s “Savages” and Joe Wright’s “Anna Karenina,” with Keira Knightley and Jude Law.

Slated to open across the Philippines on May 15 in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D in select theatres, “Godzilla” is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
