Yilinker provides business opportunity to media influencers and Yilinker affiliate
Why online shopping? Because you have the option to choose and make up your mind if you dont like the product, or if its out of stock online, you can take your business to another online store where the product is available. You get cheap deals and better prices, plus its a breeze shopping online.
Traffic, parking and huge crowds-- and you haven’t even entered the shopping mall yet. It’s enough to snuff out even the strongest of Holiday spirits.
Christmas shopping can be time consuming, stressful and sometimes even dangerous, that is why more and more people are deciding to skip the cashier queues and are opting to shop online instead.
After all, where else can you do shopping, even at midnight, while wearing your pajamas?
Practical shoppers are also beginning to realize that they can actually save more online compared to conventional shopping because of the added expenses such as eating out, paying for gas and parking, and impulsive buys, etc.
YiLinker, the newest entrant to the local e-commerce industry, sets itself apart by revolutionizing the online shopping business with its unique value proposition for merchants and its affiliates.
“YiLinker.com aims to innovate and reinvent the e-commerce industry in the Philippines by offering the most progressive products and services that will suit the changing lifestyle of its customers, facilitate a one-of-a-kind selling opportunity for our partners, and give everyone the chance to earn more income via our affiliate program,” says Nelson Liao, CEO of YiLinker Philippines.
Liao said the Philippines presented a very good opportunity for YiLinker to establish its very first station because of the country’s continued growth and strong potential in the e-commerce business.
As of the end of 2014, the Philippines has over a hundred million population, 40 percent of which are internet users and over 90% of internet users having their own Facebook account.
Liao pointed out that the average Filipino internet user, spends about 53 hours per week on social media, and has an average of 660 friends on Facebook making us one of the top countries when it comes to social media usage.
“We want to turn this habit into a business opportunity for every Filipino,” he said.
YiLinker connects your business to the world
In the current offline traditional selling, merchants or suppliers typically spend for overhead costs such as rent, manpower and marketing promotion. But with the overhead costs increasing every year, generated sales may not be able to sustain costs.
The sudden outpour of online stores provides merchants an opportunity to expand their market reach, generating additional revenues on top traditional selling. However, this type of business incurs additional expenses such as online advertising, warehouse, delivery and customer support service.Partnering with popular e-commerce platforms may promise wider exposure but the limited business model is still not enough to provide business owners with higher revenue considering the need to hire additional manpower to handle the online marketing, advertising and transaction.
Understanding the need of every businessman to grow his business while utilizing very minimal cost, YiLinker is revolutionizing the business model of the Affiliate Program. By partnering with thousands of affiliates who will promote products to various social media platforms, YiLinker provides businesses with better exposure and much higher revenue potential.
“With the YiLinker Affiliate Program, merchants only need to provide their products with the best price and our thousands of affiliates will be the one to promote them via social media,” says Liao.
Earn passive income as an YiLinker Affiliate
For influencers who have a strong media following, the YiLinker Affiliate Program rewards you with additional passive income simply by creating your own account. By partnering with Yilinker, potential affiliates can create and run their own e-commerce business without investment capital.
“As YiLinker Affiliates, they do not need to spend a single centavo to start their online business and have passive income,” explains Liao.
The program allows Affiliates to set up their own store simply by selecting their desired products and promoting them on their social media sites. Affiliates do not have to worry about fulfillment and delivery as YiLinker offers end-to-end service from pick and pack to after sales and customer support. YiLinker will also provide ample training to its Affiliates, help them with marketing strategies and provide support and assistance in categorizing and pricing their products.
“We understand the value of our Affiliates that is why we want to establish and sustain professionalism, innovativeness, dependability and healthy working relationships among our team, so we are able to provide our stakeholders (merchants, affiliates and customers) the best services and products they deserve,” said Liao.
“For our Affiliates, we offer cost-free selling—from conceptualizing and running marketing promotions, handling warehousing to logistics to collecting payments from your customers. We provide 24/7 customer support for concerns on returns, replacements and refunds for a worry-free after-sales service. No marketing fees, no maintenance costs, no hidden charges,” Liao expounds.
YiLinker Affiliates can earn up to 60% commission on net profit of each transaction while enjoying a quick and easy payout system.
“We want you to see and feel the fruits of your labor right away, so we will make the pay-out processing faster, easier and real-time.You can check and withdraw your earnings anytime, anywhere,” adds Liao.

How to chase a Huawei's #HotspotHottie like a pro
I never like running because I dont have the strong lungs to support the sport. I cant keep up with the pace plus the fact that I pant like a dog. But Huawei's #HOTSPOTHOTTIE event made me test my running capability. I chased the hottest eyecandies of the moment, including Graham Caygill my favorite all time cracker as of this writing haha. This hotspot hottie chasing moment made me realize that you have to run after them as fast as you can - (as the contest proper) we snapped our pictures together and upload those in my instagram account with the help of Huawei's Spark /Flash pocket wifi. The secret lies to how fast your internet connection is. In return, I got to bring home my new Huawei Spark pocket wifi, not the hotties though last December 6 at Cyberzone SM MOA. Not bad considering that my last run was 3 months ago. But I would definitely join again if Graham Caygill is in the list of the pursuee.
The Huawei Flash, Huawei Spark and Huawei Lightning take full advantage of Huawei’s mobile broadband network compatibility to deliver fast and uninterrupted internet connectivity on-the-go.
Much like Christmas trees and those lavish decorations with the bright lights, lining up to have your picture taken with a guy in a red suit has become part of the yearly holiday mall events.
Mall goers at the SM Mall of Asia, however, were in for quite a different surprise, as instead of Santa Claus, people were taking photos of a group of handsome men in red and white, who instead of gifts were giving out free WiFi--both to the naughty and nice!
Later revealed as the #HuaweiHotspotHotties, these foreign models led shoppers to the Cyberzone event center where Huawei exhibited the latest line of pocket WiFi devices via a mini fashion show.
“The #HuaweiHotspotHotties characterize the sleek and elegant look of our new WiFi devices that are guaranteed to make heads turn for a second look, says Charles Wu country manager of Huawei’s consumer business group. “But more than just its refined and stunning appearance, Huawei’s new connectivity devices also delivers fast uninterrupted 3G and LTE connectivity wherever you go.”
Wu said the event was held to educate internet users of the advantages and features of the devices, and let them experience firsthand why people are now asking for a Huawei when purchasing a pocket WiFi.
“Everybody wants a reliable internet connection, as the leading global ICT solutions provider, Huawei is known for building telecommunication networks around the world, as such, our strength lies in designing products that would work best with the current infrastructure of these mobile broadband networks,” says Wu.
Audiences who “spotted” these Hotties and uploaded their pictures on social media also got the chance to win their own pocket WiFi devices and other exciting prizes.
“Always on” mentality
With the continued growth and increase in the number of mobile devices being used to access the internet, Filipinos have developed this “always on” mentality or that need to be always connected.
According to a study called Wave7, Filipinos have been using social media platforms 53 hours a week—11 hours more than the total global usage. Thus it comes as no surprise that from being the text messaging capital of the world, the Philippines has now become the social media capital of the world.
“Whether it’s to keep in touch with friends and family, share new experiences or meet new people, we are always looking for the best way to connect to the internet,” notes Jose Vega, Sales and Marketing Director, Huawei Device Philippines.
“One of the first things people ask about as soon as they arrive at their destination-- whether its a hotel, a restaurant or even at a friend’s house is for the Wi-Fi password, but since not all venues could handle the number of people connecting to their routers, internet connection can be very slow-- that is if you can even connect in the first place. That is why having your own Pocket WiFi device remains the best and most convenient solution especially if you are travelling with your family or friends and need to connect several devices at a time,” he added.
“When you get a Huawei WiFi, you don’t have to ask for passwords anymore because you instantly become the hotspot everyone would be searching for instead.”
HUAWEI FLASH (E5573)
The Huawei Flash is an LTE enabled mobile WiFi hotspot highlighted by an exquisite metallic halo button at the center, and one touch play for easy operation. The Flash is powered by a 1500mAH battery, which can last to up to 5 hours of WiFi usage and up to 300 hours in standby mode. Install the Huawei Mobile WiFi App 3.0, the Flash lets you quickly and easily "share" photos, apps between mobile phones accessed to the same Mobile WiFi.

HUAWEI LIGHTNING (B315) LTE CPE Router
True to its name, the Lightning supports fast LTE CAT4 connections of up to 150Mbps. This WiFi router is best for SME requirements as it can deliver maximum speeds of LTE CAT4 150Mbps through its Gigabit Ethernet port.
The Lightning’s enhanced Wi-Fi extends wireless coverage and eliminates dead corners and offers wireless access for up to 32 devices. The Huawei Lightning supports peak download speeds of up to 150mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps.

Anthony Mackie Runs an Election Campaign in "Our Brand is Crisis"
Most recently seen as The Falcon in this year's “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Ant-Man,” Anthony Mackie now stars opposite Sandra Bullock in Warner Bros. Pictures' satirical comedy “Our Brand is Crisis.”
In the film, a Bolivian presidential candidate failing badly in the polls enlists the firepower of an elite American management team, led by the deeply damaged but still brilliant strategist “Calamity” Jane Bodine (Bullock).
Mackie’s character, is Ben, the campaign team leader, whom director David Gordon Green describes as “smart, energetic and good-willed, the likeable anchor in the film. When everyone else seems to be challenging their ethics and making you question where they’re coming from or what their agendas are, he’s the one audiences will look to as someone who may still have some perspective.
“From playing Tupac to the Falcon in the Avenger movies; he has such a range of memorable performances to his credit, I thought he’d be great as a clean-cut, solid, upstanding American navigating a political campaign in Latin America,” Green continues. “He understands that Jane has problems but comes to realize she’s powerful and capable. He’s not there to manipulate her. He wants to learn, and be good at his job, and he also wants the world to be a better place.”Which is not to say that Ben isn’t a willing participant in the game, but he has his limits.
At the core of the multi-layered character, Mackie feels, “Ben is the guy who doesn’t have all the answers but he definitely knows how to impose his will on the circumstances and he has their candidate’s best interests at the front of his mind at all times. He takes his job very seriously. At the same time, he would hope the politicians he represents are actually addressing the people in their campaign as opposed to just lying to them and telling them what they want to hear.”
For Bullock, it’s that sense of equilibrium that defines Ben and makes him a fitting complement and contrast to Jane. Amidst the madness of the campaign, their brief and refreshingly candid conversations, so simple on the surface, prove increasingly enlightening. “He is a moral compass, the soul of the story,” she says. “He’s smart and ethical, but he’s also realistic, so he’s saying, ‘I know it’s about the people and the country but we have to stay cognizant that this is an election and it’s a business.’ He’s the man in the middle, holding the scales and trying to keep them balanced. Sometimes the scales tip, and you wonder which way he is going to go, but you want to feel he’s going to do the right thing in the end.”
Classically trained at the Juilliard School of Drama, Anthony Mackie is a great and talented young actor able to capture a plethora of characters.
Mackie was discovered after receiving rave reviews playing Tupac Shakur in the off-Broadway play “Up Against the Wind.” Immediately following, he made an auspicious film debut as Eminem’s nemesis, Papa Doc, in Curtis Hanson’s “8 Mile.” He also appeared in Clint Eastwood’s Academy Award-winning “Million Dollar Baby,” opposite Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman and Eastwood; and Jonathan Demme’s “The Manchurian Candidate,” alongside Denzel Washington and Liev Schreiber.
In 2009 Mackie was seen as Sgt. J.T. Sanborn in Kathryn Bigelow’s multiple Academy Award-winning film “The Hurt Locker,” for which he earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination.
In 2011 Mackie was seen in “The Adjustment Bureau,” with Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, as well as “Real Steel,” with Hugh Jackman. He was also featured in Timur Bekmanbetov’s “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” released in 2012. He starred in the 2013 crime drama “Gangster Squad,” alongside Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone, and Ryan Gosling.
Mackie is a member of the Marvel Comics family. He made his Marvel debut as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The film, released on April 4th, 2014, opened at #1, earning over $96 million and breaking the record for an April release. Mackie also starred in the second installment of the franchise and his Falcon made an appearance in the recently released “Avengers: Age of Ultron” as well as “Ant-Man.” He is currently filming “Captain America: Civil War.”
Opening across the Philippines on Jan. 20, 2016, “Our Brand is Crisis” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
Bumper to Bumper XI holds successful car show event at SM MOA Concert Grounds
Bumper to Bumper, the longest-running car show and automotive lifestyle event, happened on December 5 and 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Now on its 11th year, the multi-event happening featured the biggest production setup in any car show in Asia.
"Filipinos love car shows because we can relate to the cars we see. It is always a delight for us to see so many nice cars in one place. You can always see the excitement in people's eyes when they are in a car show and you also know deep inside that they feel inspired—that one day, they will also have these upgrades or these kind of rides in their garage," mused Jonathan Chio, CEO of Ladder Events Production.
Since 2005, Bumper to Bumper (B2B) has been bringing the car show not only to Manila but to 10 key cities, including Baguio, Batangas, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Laguna, La Union, Pampanga, and Pangasinan. It is the only local car show known to do so, in its pursuit to bring the best of the best automotive mods across the Philippines.
Chio furthered, "Bumper to Bumper Car Show is like a theme park of sorts, a theme park for car enthusiasts. We have a wide array of vehicles on display, we have full blown entertainment to fill in your time, and we have unique activities all the time during the event."
The event usually attracts a crowd of 70,000 car enthusiasts and spectators. This year promised to be bigger and better. Activities included a two-division (Pro and Street category) car show competition, off-road vehicle display competition, engine roar competition, drive-in movie, dance showdown, concert, and Sneaker Fever Manila for those who love kicks.
"There are so many things B2B has done to our market. A lot of shops that does not have big budgets for bigger shows were known to have started in our car shows. We have given work opportunities to our car show models. Our event has served as a playground for aspiring photographers and bloggers. But more importantly, a lot of long lasting-friendships were born in our events," said Chio.
Exciting events to look forward to in 2016 include the B2B Car Show Sinulog in January; "Hot Import Nights V Manila” to be held at Metro Tent, Metrowalk on April 23 and 24; “Hot Import Nights Davao” to be held at The Peak in Davao City; and the first-ever Race Wars Unlimited Philippines.
Bumper to Bumper XI was presented by B2BCarshow.com, Total Excellium, PenserQ Multimedia Company, Repsol Motor Oils, No Fear Apparel, Task Us, SM Mall of Asia, and Chevrolet Philippines, among others.

Calyxta Beauty turns one!
Calyxta recently celebrates its first anniversary as an online beauty store last Dec 3 at the Makati Diamond Residences, Makati. The roof deck was transformed to a full blown beauty spa.
The beauty pampering event was attended by its Marketing Manager Erica Paredes, Calyxta Cover Girl Catriona Gray, Quark Henares, Carla Humpries, Cat Juan and some beauty celebrities and bloggers.
I have been following Erica Paredes at her instagram account last year, I love that her feeds inspire me what make up to use and buy aside from loving her quirky fashion style too. It all started with that one hawaiian polo ootd with which she partners with a skater denim skirt. She almost get away with everything she wears.
I came about Calyxta a few months ago for that one elusive beauty product that I have been shipping from abroad. It just came as a surprise that Calyxta carries the same swatch that I have been using. It was a breeze buying from their online, after payment the product would be deliver in your doorstep pronto.
The first makeover beauty pampering party anniversary was well attended. We lined up for our favorite booth. The brands that were available for testing are Ciaté London, Toni&Guy, Maybelline, Browhaus, Strip, My Amazing Blow Dry Secret, and Enza Nail Spa.
The first booth that I availed was the Toni&Guy hair make over. I wanted to have the big locks for a change since my hair is long enough for that big curls. My hair went from blah to vavavoom after the Toni & Guy crew's blow dry session. The Toni & Guy's Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray added life and oomph to my dull hair with just a few spray, plus it smells good too almost like vanilla.
Since all the beauty counters were too busy for the guests and the reservation was long enough to cover me at 6pm. I opted to just have a winged eyeliner at the Maybelline beauty counter, I never mastered the art of putting a cat eye or a winged eyeliner. The SA at the Maybelline counter showed me the tricks. First is to apply pencil eyeliner to your upper lash line. Hold your eyeliner pencil at the end point of your bottom lash line. Point it upward diagonally so that it looks like a continuation of your lower lash line. Then for the finale, draw a thin diagonal line out to act as the wing.

Everyone loves parties. Everyone also loves to be pampered. Put the two together, and you’ve got an experience that is sure to make everyone feel special. To celebrate their 12-month milestone, Calyxta invited media friends and partners to a “Beauty Fair” with cocktails and beats from DJ Quark Henares. For those who only discovered about the site during the launch, Calyxta came prepared by providing a product display with tablets for people to browse and learn their way around the site.

Edward Benosa finally gets his break with "Di Man Lang Nagpaalam"
"Madrama ang buhay ko, pedeng isapelikula ang mga pinagdaanan ko" as told by up and coming Edward Benosa to the group of bloggers over lunch at the recent launch of his debut album at 77 Limbaga Restaurant last December 4.
It probably explains the melodic and sentimental flavor of his debut album with the carrier single "Di Man Lang Nagpaalam" under Star Music.
Edward, said he really had to work his way up to get recognized and make a name for himself in the cuttroat entertainment business. "Sumali ako sa starstruck then sa blind audition ng The Voice pero di ko pa yata time so tiis muna, work muna on developing my singing skills". His break came when Arnold Reyes, his composer/manager agreed to help him with his album a dream project, and labor of love.
With less than a month to go before 2015 ends, it’s looking like a very good year for up-and-coming balladeer Edward Benosa.
In fact, 2015 is turning out to be his best year yet. This year, Edward scored two major victories with twin nominations, first, in the Best New Recording Artist category of the recent MOR awards, and second, in the Star Awards for Music of the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC). In the MOR Awards, he was up against both male and female artists (who fought it out in one category) that included eventual winner Morissette Amon, while in the Star Awards—where there were separate categories for male and female artists—he won over some heavy-hitting newcomers, including The Voice Kids runner-up Darren Espanto.
In the wake of his Star Awards victory, there were a few who questioned his winning, and some who asked, “Sino siya? Di namin siya kilala.” But the reactions were generally positive, and Edward has just happily moved on.

He signed with Star Music, and released his debut album produced by his manager and discoverer, stage and indie film actor Arnold Reyes, with the carrier single, “Di Man Lang Nagpaalam”, a song about a loved one who leaves without even saying goodbye. The touching ballad found an audience and topped several radio countdowns and sales charts nationwide, making Edward a household name. He also gained a following, called the Edward Benosa Loyal Supporters.
He is relatively young in the music business, so for him to earn those two nominations, have an album and a hit song in so short a time is nothing short of a miracle.
But winning his first award in the span of only nine months was the most memorable and incredible thing to happen to him this year.
Sometimes even he can’t believe it. The night of the award ceremony, he went there, not expecting anything. He honestly did not see himself winning because he felt he was too much of a newbie, and had no right to do so. So when his name was called, Edward was shocked, and when he got onstage, he forgot to thank so many people, including his manager.
“Di ko talaga in-expect. Sobra akong nagulat, sobrang surprised,” he says.
Another achievement of Edward in 2015 was appearing in his first stage musical, Chuva Choo Choo, inspired by the music of multi-awarded songwriter and record producer Vehnee Saturno. He played the love interest of Morissette Amon and also co-starred with former Miss Saigon star and stage veteran Joanna Ampil. The musical produced by STAGES will have an extended run in mid-2016.
Being given all these opportunities to stretch himself and his craft make Edward feel that this is where he was meant to be.
Now, he says, he is really serious about wanting to build a career as a singer, songwriter and performer.
Edward is thankful for all the blessings and breaks he’s been getting—and the timing, with the holidays just around the corner—couldn’t be better.“Napaka-gandang Christmas gift ng taon na ito, ang gandang bonus galing kay Lord,” reflects Edward.
So now, the game plan is just for him to keep moving forward. He dreams of releasing a second album, and maybe even staging a concert in 2016, as a way of giving back and thanking all his friends (he prefers not to call them ‘fans’, but friends) for their support.
There is so much ahead of him as 2016 approaches, and Edward is excited to experience everything.
For more of Edward, visit his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/realedwardbenosa. For bookings and inquiries, please call Ranjo Isip 09178822773.

#KiligPaMore with "My Bebe Love" this December!
Every filipino moviegoers anticipate MMFF lineup of movies, especially with the PH box-office king of comedy Vic Sotto entry at the helm. Aside from the fun and comic relief it provides, a Vic Sotto starrer would not be complete without a phenomenal loveteam to beat, like the Aldub nation.
#Aldub is sure to break the house down with the twitter record breaking loveteam of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.
The loveteam catapults to fame last July of this year at Eat Bulaga's famous Kalye Serye with the fun loving help of Lola Nidora, Tidora, and Tinidora characters. Since then, #Aldub hits a million everyday, before and after airing of Kalye Serye with different hashtags accordingly. Hitting the record breaking 25.6 Million besting even the US most tweeted events, with the hashtag #ALDubEBforLOVE.
An Aldub blogcon was held at Annabels, QC last Dec 2 attended by the lead stars Vic Sotto, Ai Ai delas Alas and Alden Richards. Alden was probe if when he will court Maine, to which he answered " in the near future po siguro since busy pa po kami pareho sa aming mga career".
So what happens when the country’s comedy giants - the undisputed Philippine box-office king of comedy Vic Sotto and box-office queen Ai-Ai delas Alas, join forces with the newest record-breaking, phenomenal loveteam Aldub in one groundbreaking movie during the holiday season?
No doubt, “My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!,” starring Vic Sotto, Ai-Ai Delas Alas and the phenomenal loveteam Aldub of Alden Richards and Maine “Yayadub” Mendoza, is going to make a killing at the box-office and set higher heights in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) History.
Expect waves of high-spirited excitement, heartwarming romance, wholesome fun, and excellent Filipino values, to take the holiday season’s finest film festival by storm. Vic and Ai-Ai spearhead the fun topsy-turvy of characters as they are featured side by side Alden and Maine in the movie written by Jose Javier Reyes and Bibeth Orteza and directed by Jose Javier Reyes.
This early, festival observers are already predicting a surefire box-office reign for “My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!” which is jointly-offered by OctoArts Films, M-Zet Television Productions, Inc., APT Entertainment, GMA Films and Meda Production. While the country is being swept away by the record-breaking loveteam of Alden Richards and Maine “Yayadub” Mendoza, MMFF is poised to be another territory for conquest by the Aldub phenomenon. This is the duo’s most exciting film debut.
“My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!” also features Joey de Leon, the “Eat Bulaga” lolas Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, and Wally Bayola, and Ryzza Mae Dizon, in special appearances.
Vic Sotto plays the role of Vito who finds himself at odds and in a bitter professional rivalry with Cora, played by Ai-Ai. The two are both in the business of mounting special events and productions and have both made a successful name in the same profession. The conflict happens when their respective wards – Anna (played by Maine) daughter of Vito, gets romantically entangled with Cora’s beloved nephew Dondi (played by Alden). As expected, the “parents” actively reject the budding romantic involvement between the star-crossed lovers and willingly struck an unexpected truce to prevent this romance from happening.
The plot thickens when the unexpected alliance of the Vito and Cora starts blooming into something else. Now, it’s the turn of the youngsters to feel disconcerted with the idea of having their folks enter into a different relationship zone. Now it was the turn of Dondi and Anna to react to the situation. They did not like the idea of his auntie and her father falling in love with each other. Now it was the younger generation vehemently reacting to this new romance.
So where will all this end? What are the possible solutions and resolutions to bring closure and new beginnings to these young, exciting lovers? Catch the excitement, the love, the fun and romance when “My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!” starts showing on Christmas Day at the MMFF.

Taking out a loan from a bank entails more than just paper work. There are a lot of things to consider including what happens to the loan when something happens to the borrower? Because of this, insurance companies work closely together with banks to improve the way loans are handled in unfortunate situations.
One of the country’s largest life insurance companies, Philam Life, was recently entrusted by one of the largest rural banks in South Luzon, BangkoKabayan, Inc., to insure its borrowers with Credit Life Insurance. Designed to protect lenders against the possibility of unpaid loans due to a borrower’s untimely death, Philam Life’s Credit Life Insurance ensures that loans are paid, assets and possessions safeguarded, and businesses are kept intact. BangkoKabayan currently has 20 offices located in Batangas, Laguna and Quezon that service more than 50,000 clients .

Social Studies Month for Montessori de San Juan
Social Studies Month – Montessori de San Juan’s fun and creative way for students to appreciate various cultures
While October is Halloween for most kids, at Montessori de San Juan in Mandaluyong City, students get to dress up, not as monsters and imagined creatures, but in the national costumes of existing cultures. It’s a creative way for them to get to know, respect, and appreciate the various ways of life and perspectives around the world. And it’s no less fun than Halloween, but probably more horizon-expanding.
“All month long, we have art activities related to Social studies and different cultures around the world, we also have an olympiad with elimination rounds inside the classrooms for the final (quiz bee/olympiad),” said Sandy Arellano, Assistant Principal at Montessori de San Juan (MSJ).
Usually, at the end of October, the school holds a culminating activity. This year year, they’ve put together a Social Studies Travel Fair where children were assigned countries and they need to set up a booth/showcase/display for travelers. So this meant the children had to be able to talk about the demographics of “their” country, share food, and dress in their nation’s costume.
The Montessori Method
All this is in line with Montessori de San Juan’s approach to learning – hands on, immersive, interactive, and not just a sit-down lecture of concepts. The Montessori method is an alternative to the traditional way children are taught in schools – with strict rules, tiring homework, rote memorization, and legions of students cramped in once classroom. If only every child learned in the same way. If only repetition sparked in a child an inner curiosity and drive to learn, synthesize, discover.
Via the Montessori method, a child learns from a “discovery” model, where he or she works with materials (and learns concepts in the process) instead of via textbook spoon-feeding. The method also works with various types of learners – the visual, tactile, auditory. It’s easier to spot what kind of learner a child is in a smaller classroom – each class at Montessori de San Juan is populated with 12-15 students per class, with only one section per level.
So you can just imagine how much hands-on fun and immersive Social Studies Month was for the students of Montessori de San Juan.
The children from the upper grades prepared their booth, assisted of course by their social studies and home room teachers. The children researched facts, cooked some food in their home economics class, made pamphlets and power point presentations in their TechEd class, and displayed art work that they made, and so on. Some classes even presented short folk songs and dances.
As unconventional as it may seem, the Montessori method clearly works.
