Teresita's 11th branch now open at SM Manila

If you are craving for some authentic Kapampangan Filipino food then Teresita's is the place to be. Their delicious classic dishes like Kare-Kare with bagoong, and sisig is highly recommended. They also offers palabok (my favorite) best with puto.  chicharon bulaklak,  kutsinta,  mechado,  dinuguan and many others.  their kapampangan dishes are all good if not the best. Their bestsellers also include the yummiest halo halo, and cute mini leche flan.

I chanced upon Teresita's at SM North Edsa last year. Whenever Im craving for some kapampangan dishes with rice, and chicharon bulaklak on the side, Teresita's never fail to amaze the foodie in me, plus their servers are courteous and the dishes are truly delicious and good value for money.

They opened their 11th new branch located at the lower ground floor level of SM Manila last January 22, the event was attended by showbiz celebrity Ms. Ella Cruz and graced by Teresita's owners, selected bloggers and media.

“We take pride in bringing the best of home-cooked meals with authentic Kapampangan taste. Just like their second home Teresita’s SM Manila aims to delight guests who wish to enjoy simple, classic but affordable dishes from the country’s food capital,” says Ryan Razon, chief executive offer (CEO) of Nozars, Inc., operator of “Teresita’s of San Fernando” chain of restaurants.

Teresita’s originated in San Fernando in 2002 but it was only in 2011 when Ryan’s family decided to open their first Metro Manila outlet along Tomas Morato in Quezon City named after Ryan’s mother Teresita, whose family operates a successful catering business in Pampanga.

Their first outlet in San Fernando, a mere hole-in-the-wall, gained instant popularity with their Halo-Halo and Palabok.

After their first venture in Quezon City, Teresita’s opened at Waltermart in Munoz, also in Quezon City on 2012, followed by Vito Cruz a year later.

In 2014, they opened their first halu-halo cart in Festival Mall, Alabang.

Last year Teresita’s opened at SM Light Mall and Robinson’s Forum in Mandaluyong City, SM BF Paranaque City, and SM North Edsa Annex in Quezon City, and SM Molino in Cavite, and SM Southmall Kiosk.

Teresita’s restaurants are simple, unassuming, and caters to guests who enjoy heirloom recipes.

Unlike many local restaurants where food are for sharing, Teresita’s serves meals good for one – Kare-Kare, Embutido, Boneless Bangus, among others, which go with rice at very affordable prices, between P110 to P130.

“We hope to open more branches in Metro Manila. Expansion has been brisk in the last four years. And we have been getting encouraging feedback from our customers,” added Razon.

During the first quarter of 2016,Teresita’s hopes to open twonew outlets - at Petron NLEX in Marilao, Bulacan and Petron Clark in Pampanga.

Crizal Eyezen helps you see the world better

The glasses lenses that suits you depends on your glasses prescription and the activities you use your glasses for and how much time you spend on your computer. Even if your glasses are multicoated,
which corporate a combination of coatings - anti-reflection, scratch-resistant, water repellent and UV, you still need special lenses to protect and relax your eyes after a hard day's work, or just by wearing these lenses to filter out blue light from artificial light like VDU computer monitors, your android phones, and tablets.

I have learned a week ago after trying on the Glasses lenses at Crizal Eyezen event at Green Sun, that Crizal lenses are the best protection there is because Crizal Eyezen lenses exist in three (3) different optimizations according to the type of screen most used and the age of the patient. It features three revolutionary technologies—Eyezen Focus, Light Scan and W.A.V.E Technology that work in sync to relax the eyes from all digital stress and protect against harmful blue light. Just by using the normal lenses without any grades it instantly calm and relax my eyes.

Crizal Eyezen lenses are designed to replace ordinary prescription lenses or to assist occasionally the ones who usually do not need glasses, when viewing their digital devices.

With this in mind, Essilor, the global leader in ophthalmic lenses, introduces Crizal Eyezen, a new range of lenses designed to keep your eyes protected while staying connected to the digital world.

With the abundance of digital devices, people are now engaging in a digital behavior called “multi-screening”. It is a behavior where an individual uses multiple digital screens simultaneously, on average four (4) different devices are used—either for work, education, socializing or leisure.

A typical multi-screen user spends 7 hours and 24 minutes of screen media per day. Of that time, 34% is spent on smartphones; 33% on TV; 23% on laptops; and 10% on tablets. This longer time in front of bright digital screens and versatility between devices are challenges for the human eye, and many people are describing specific symptoms linked to their new behavior.

Eyezen Focus Technology helps relieve the eye’s focus when using digital devices and reduces eye strain in ultra-near distances or for reading small characters by giving an extra power in the lower portion of the ophthalmic lens.

Light Scan Technology is a unique light filtering technology which protects eyes from the harmful blue-violet light emitted by digital screens. W.A.V.E Technology, on the other hand, eliminates lens distortion for sharper, clearer vision at every distance and better vision even in low light.

“Crizal Eyezen enhances the digitally connected lifestyle of the millennial generation” says Essilor Philippines general manager Dr. Emelita Roleda. “While ordinary glasses help you see the world, Eyezen enhance the way you live in it. With clearer, sharper vision, you can connect to the digital world better, while getting protection for your eyes at the same time.”

Crizal Eyezen is just one of the many technological innovations of Essilor.  As technology continues to advance, people’s visual needs will change at the same time. Essilor makes sure that people’s visual needs are always complemented through its constant technological innovations, innovations that aim for people to see the world better.

Crizal Eyezen lenses are available in clear and Crizal Transitions at leading optical shops nationwide. For more information, visit the Crizal Eyezen Facebook page, www.facebook.com/crizaleyezenph.

Listen to the sound of #TastetheFeeling campaign all over the world

Coca-Cola unveils a powerful, global communications campaign for their most iconic product – celebrating moments made more special with the simple pleasure of drinking Coca-Cola and has come up with the newest tagline “Taste the Feeling™”  replaces “Open Happiness™” which has been used by Coca-Cola for the past seven years.

The global campaign, which was rolled out first in Paris last January 19 featuring the newest tagline “Taste the Feeling™,” fully embodies the uplifting refreshment of drinking Coke. The campaign comes with 25 jingle ads posted to YouTube and "Taste the Feeling" print images.

The one jingle that I have been liking and is listening to up to this time is "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie who died recently of cancer. This spot ad would make a great tribute to Bowie. The spot was created for teenagers to release their tension just by drinking an ice cold Coca Cola.

In Manila, Coca Cola PH unveils the newest Coca Cola Ambassadors simultaneously with the campaign last January 21 at Rigodon Ballroom Manila Peninsula, headlined by the country’s hottest love teams such as Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, Bailey May and Ylona Garcia, James Reid, Enchong Dee and Janella Salvador. The event was hosted by Yna Villania and Sam YG.

Exciting activities are also lined-up for the rest of the year that will uplift ordinary days and bring refreshing moments throughout the country. Coke are also giving out millions of free Coca-Cola to make millions of moments special.

The campaign also marks the consolidation of all Coca-Cola trademark products like Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light, Diet Coca-Cola, and Coca-Cola Zero under a ‘One Brand’ campaign approach.  Since 1886, there have been 45 taglines before “Taste the Feeling™”.

Coca-Cola brings to life everyday moments through great universal storytelling and rich visual imagery – placing the product at the heart of its communications.

The new campaign also features images shot by noted fashion photographers Guy Aroch
and Nacho Ricci capturing people from around the world enjoying ice-cold Coca-Cola in a
variety of everyday moments. The new campaign imagery will be used in print advertising,
out of home billboards, in-store as well as digital media.

“We are introducing a new approach to continue the brand’s long legacy of great visual
storytelling,” said James Sommerville, VP Global Design. “The photography features human
moments that blur the boundaries between who people are and what they love to do. In all
the creative, Coca-Cola plays a lead role in the scene, enhancing the color, texture and
emotion of the images. Every interaction is unique and made more special through the
enjoyment of a Coca-Cola, any Coca-Cola.”

“Every day, millions of people around the world reach for an ice cold Coca-Cola,” said Marcos de Quinto, Chief Marketing Officer, The Coca-Cola Company. “The new global approach is a powerful investment behind all Coca-Cola products, showing how everyone can enjoy the specialness of an ice-cold Coca-Cola, with or without calories, with or without caffeine.”

“Taste the Feeling makes Coca-Cola the hero of our advertising again. The new campaign is all about capturing both the functional and emotional traits of Coca-Cola – the uplifting refreshment of drinking our product and how having a Coke makes any moment more memorable and more special,” says Stephan Czypionka, Vice President for Marketing, Coca-Cola Philippines.

Coca-Cola gathered global creative minds from different agencies, commissioned distinguished fashion and commercial photographers, partnered with three independent artists, and collaborated with a renowned songwriter and producer to illustrate both in visual and through music intimate glimpses into everyday stories, feelings and experiences that people share while enjoying an ice-cold Coca-Cola.

The lead television spot, “Anthem,” comes to life through a series of ordinary moments
linked by a Coca-Cola, such as ice-skating with friends, a first date, a first kiss, and a first
love. The soundtrack to “Anthem” is an original song titled “Taste the Feeling™.”
Music, being the main passion point for teens, takes center stage in the new campaign.

The one spot that I also like next to "Under Pressure is  "Break Up"

Coca-Cola worked with Music Dealers to write and produce the song. In select markets, the
song features the voice of one of the world’s rising music stars and an artist to watch for in
2016, Conrad Sewell. Sewell, a London-born, Australia-raised singer featured in the breakout
single “Firestone,” which produced 300 million Spotify streams and 3 million-plus worldwide
sales.

Letting go of its iconic five-note signature, Coca-Cola is also unveiling a new audio signature
that makes use of the sounds that have long been attributed to drinking Coke: the opening of
the fridge, the unmistakable fizzing on ice, the cheers and clinking of glasses, the quenching
sip, and the irresistible ahhh at the end.

Following a partnership that started in 2014, Coca-Cola also tapped Avicii to produce a
remixed version of the “Taste the Feeling™” campaign anthem featuring Conrad Sewell, and
he will produce versions of the song for the UEFA EURO 2016TM and the Rio 2016 Olympic
Games™ campaigns.

For more information about the new campaign of Coca-Cola, visit www.TastetheFeeling.Coca-Cola.com or the Facebook page of Coca-Cola Philippines.

When heroes are no longer enough to save the Earth from evil elements, who would be humanity’s last hope? From the creators of Warner TV’s other hit superhero series – The Flash and ARROW – comes DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, forming the world’s greatest assemble for humankind's ultimate battle.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is a sister-series to The Flash and ARROW,developed by Greg Berlanti. The show opens with time-travelling rogue, Time Master Rip Hunter, played by Arthur Darvill(Doctor Who), in the year 2166. Hunter sees the immortal Vandal Savage (played by Casper Crump) on the verge of his final victory – bringing total chaos and the utter destruction. This abomination pushes Hunter to take matters into his own hands and travels 150 years into the past to assemble a team of carefully-selected heroes and rogues to stop Savage.

The 16-episode series features a combination of characters and even villains from The Flash and ARROW, along with new heroes from the DC Comics pantheon.

With recurring roles in both The Flash and ARROW, Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) reprises his role as the billionaire inventor Ray Palmer a.k.a The Atom, who created an exo-suit with the power to shrink himself to miniscule size. Also reprising her role as the trained assassin Sara Lance a.k.a White Canary in the ARROW-verseis CaityLotz (Death Valley, The Pact).

In the year 2166, the immortal villain Vandal Savage (recurring guest star CASPER CRUMP) is on the verge of his final victory – total chaos and the utter destruction of humanity. As the world crumbles, the Time Master Rip Hunter (series star ARTHUR DARVILL) takes matters into his own hands; he travels 150 years into the past to assemble a carefully selected team of heroes and rogues, who together will be… Legends.

Hunter has chosen what seems like an ill-matched group: billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (series star BRANDON ROUTH), who has created an exo-suit with the power to shrink him to miniscule size, as the Atom; Sara Lance (series star CAITY LOTZ), the White Canary, a trained assassin; Professor Martin Stein (series star VICTOR GARBER) and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (series star FRANZ DRAMEH), who together form the meta-human Firestorm; Leonard Snart (series star WENTWORTH MILLER), known as Captain Cold, and his partner Mick Rory (series star DOMINIC PURCELL), aka Heat Wave, a pair of career criminals; and Kendra Saunders (series star CIARA RENÉE) and Carter Hall (recurring guest star FALK HENTSCHEL), who are really Hawkgirl and Hawkman, two souls who have been reincarnated many times, and who possess the ability to fly… and have a spiritual connection to Vandal Savage.

Convinced by Hunter to join him in the fight to defeat Savage, the group travels back and forth through time to try to stop Savage’s plans from being set into motion, while Hunter struggles to keep to his duty as a Time Master and avoid irreparable damage to the timeline of history.  The fate of the world is in the hands of this unlikely team, and the battle to save the earth will be… legendary.

Together this motley group will attempt to stop one of the most formidable villains of all time, while they must learn how to not only be a team, but heroes as well in the first part of a two-part series premiere episode.

Addressing water pollution among Asia Pacific countries’ priorities

With the theme “Building Inclusive Economies, Building a Better World”, the recent Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit held in Manila, not only gathered 21 heads of state of member countries to formulate policy initiatives and recommendations towards improving economic conditions, but also to discuss environmental issues such as water pollution that threaten and hinder inclusive growth and development.

Under the APEC Summit’s key priority of “building sustainable and resilient communities”, addressing water pollution issues will help ensure improved access to clean water.

In a public-private dialogue on water, one of the activities leading up to the APEC Summit, government and private sector representatives, and experts from eight member economies presented their solutions to challenges such as water shortage and water pollution, securing drinking water, and mitigating water pollution, especially in urban areas.

Among the good practices shared during the dialogue were a septic tank with solar‐heated water for efficient wastewater treatment proposed by Thailand’s Thammasat University, a novel financial evaluation called “Life Cycle Cost” for building efficient wastewater management system proposed by Japan, and legal and technological solutions for domestic wastewater in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.

Open defecation, toilet sanitation and water safety
As part of its own effort to address water sanitation problems, consumer goods manufacturer Unilever Philippines, through its leading germ-kill expert brand Domex, has partnered with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to stop open defecation which threatens drinking water sources and public health in far-flung villages in Masbate and North Cotabato.

Open defecation refers to the practice whereby people go out in fields, bushes, forests, open bodies of water, or other open spaces to defecate as they do not have access to toilets.

To date, there are 157,997 people in Masbate and North Cotabato that have been positively impacted by the improvements in sanitation practices through the partnership of Unilever and UNICEF.

One million clean toilets movement
Domex also leads the movement for 1 Million Clean Toilets which aims to educate a million Filipinos every year on proper toilet hygiene towards fighting diseases caused by unsanitary toilets. This year, the movement has partnered with health institutions and hospitals through the Philippine Public Health Association. These institutions include the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center, East Avenue Medical Center, and Rizal Medical Center.

The program includes training of hospital housekeeping staff on proper toilet hygiene and distributing educational materials to patients. Unilever also partnered with Maxicare to enable its network of doctors to encourage more than one million people to adopt proper hygiene practices.

Unilever’s efforts on toilet sanitation are in line with their long-term commitment to the global Unilever Sustainable Living Plan which aims to improve the health and well-being of two billion people worldwide by 2020.

Ensuring access to water and sanitation among new UN goals
During the 70th anniversary of the United Nations in New York, UN member states adopted a 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development highlighting 17 global sustainable development goals that can end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity. One of the goals includes ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

The global agenda states that poor water quality and inadequate sanitation negatively impact food security, livelihood choices and educational opportunities for poor families across the world; and at least 1.8 billion people globally use a source of drinking water that is contaminated with fecal matter.

By 2030, the new UN sustainable development goal targets to achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all, and achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all as well as end open defecation.
