A Simple Favor: Best Looks from Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick

If you love "Gone Girl" and "The Girl On The Train" then you should watch "A Simple Favor". The movie's twist and plot will hooked you to the end of the movie. I love how both stars Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are being dressed up in the film. They are both fashionable in each and own way. Love Blake's suiting styles, Anna's tops, shoes and outfit in the movie.

“A Simple Favor” will follow the life of Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick), a mommy vlogger, as she met an ultra-glamorous mom, Emily Nelson (Blake Lively), and how they became friends.

One afternoon, Emily asked Stephanie for a simple favor and as Stephanie agreed, Emily mysteriously disappeared. After Stephanie found out that her friend is missing, she goes to rescue and find her missing friend. As she continues her journey looking for Emily, she will discover several things about her friend’s mysterious past.

Directed by Paul Feig, “A Simple Favor” is a stylish thriller filled with twists and betrayals, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge.

The film also stars Andrew Rannells, Linda Cardellini, Jean Smart, and Rupert Friend. A Simple Favor is directed by Paul Feig (2016’s Ghostbusters) from the screenplay written by Jessica Sharzer. The story is based on the novel of the same name by Darcy Bell.

Monitor your BP at home with the use of Omron BP tool

I lost my 3 uncles to hypertension with CVA as final diagnosis. Hypertension runs in the family, my father was also diagnosed as hypertensive with maintenance medicines amounting to P7K a month. He was advised for a heart bypass or angioplasty, when he underwent angiogram.  He is 78 y/o, active but right now he has other ailments aside from hypertension. He was against angioplasty, he told that  he might die along in the middle of the operation.

We respect his decision given that he will follow doctor's advice. So he is living the healthy life watching his diet, taking his maintenance medicines with a regular check up. We constantly take his BP every now and then so as to monitor his systolic and diastolic. With the help of OMRON BP tool. It is the only accurate BP apparatus that we've been using for almost a decade now

Omron Healthcare partners with The Philippine Society of Hypertension (PSH) for BPPrecise campaign last Sept 6 at the Shangri-la Edsa Hotel.

Hypertension represents a major burden in Asia and in many parts of the world. This disease comes with a high prevalence rate and, unfortunately, poor levels of awareness and control in many countries. Hypertension is also the leading preventable cause of premature deaths worldwide, afflicting an estimated 1.4 billion people in 2010, and contributing to 10.5 million deaths each year.

By 2030, it is estimated that almost 23.6 million will die from cardiovascular diseases.

In the Philippines, a 2013 study shows that while 75% of patients received treatment for hypertension, only 27% of those achieve adequate BP control. Disparities in hypertension prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control rates have increasingly been more evident, with significant rises in hypertension prevalence during the past 30 years.

The Philippine Society of Hypertension (PSH), a 2000 plus-strong association of health providers from various disciplines committed to the diagnosis, management, treatment and prevention of hypertension, has recently partnered with Omron Healthcare in an effort for better guided hypertension treatment.

Bannering the important message of keeping a constant tab on one's blood pressure, this ‘BPPrecise' partnership, is centered on the pursuit of accuracy in home blood pressure monitoring a complementary tool to clinic BP measurements and ambulatory BP monitoring. It can help identify masked hypertension and improve treatment adherence by allowing patients with hypertension and their family members a more active role in the management of the disease.

An organization that is fully dedicated to help realize healthy and comfortable lives for people around the world, Omron Healthcare provides a wide range of health and medical care products for households and professionals. It boasts of creative technologies and equipment that serve as the perfect partner of medical care providers. It has likewise led the way in allowing people to make conscious effort and take necessary measures in preventing heart disease and strokes.

Omron monitoring gadgets are the only clinically validated instruments that are as accurate and reliable measures of blood pressure by the Philippine Society of Hypertension, serving as relevant guides in hypertension treatment.

Their automated BP monitoring devices provide an easier and more convenient way for patients to do their self-measurement compared to the standard mercury sphygmomanometer. And with self-measurement and home monitoring of blood pressure now recommended by most guidelines for BP management, digital BP monitoring devices have become the practical and less-prone-to-error option.

Among these precision instruments is the Omron Blood Pressure HEM-7120, a portable, easy-to-use home BP monitor that comes with many helpful and unique features. It detects irregular heartbeat and records previous measurement Highly recommended by doctors for providing accurate results, it is compact and fully automatic which works on the oscillometric principle to measure blood pressure and pulse rate without fuss. The device comes with an extra-large LCD screen that displays stable and clear numbers, making it easy to read. It uses an advanced lntelliSense technology for comfortable and controlled inflation without the need of pressure pre-setting or re-inflation.

Omron's other popular Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-7130 model is capable of storing 60 sets of readings with their corresponding date and time. It can also provide an average of the last 3 readings taken within the last 10 minutes. It is likewise powered by the Enhanced Intellisense Technology and employs a Body Movement Detector. This feature prompts the user to retake measurement when an error is detected due to the movement of the body during measurement.

Championing the growing acknowledgment from the health and medical industry for the role of home blood pressure monitoring (HBMP) in the management of hypertension, the BPrecise partnership aims to achieve "Zero Events," that is, reducing the incidence of life-threatening diseases such as strokes and heart attacks to zero. This is fully aligned with PHS and Omron Healthcare's mission to considerably improve hypertension outcomes all over the world.

Beyond the Box Philippines proudly bagged the championship at an impromptu Training Video Competition at the Bandung Trainers Camp

Beyond the Box was represented by Arvin Dumo, Training Specialist and Raffy Colico, Training Supervisor. The duo competed against trainers from several  countries, namely Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bangladesh.

The mini symposium and competition on July 19 was given a different twist from the questionand-answer format of previous years. This time around, the camp included participants from nine other countries, which made the competition more intense. “This was not my first time to represent
the company in this camp, but this year not only were there more competitors,  there was more effort given by the trainers,” said Raffy. “What made it different was the extra effort we all put into make sure that our message would be easily and effectively delivered to those who would watch our video.”

“ Before the competition started we were given guidelines to consider when creating our video, and what stuck with us was to ‘Keep it simple. Keep it local.’ This meant we needed to consider our audience, such as the use of language and terminologies that they are familiar with,” shared Arvin. The importance of knowing who your audience was uunderscored throughout the entire process. “You need to be able to simplify what you want to say. And how do you do that? By knowing your audience well.”

Raffy, who has been with Digits Trading Corp. for 12 years also shared how trainers can set themselves apart from the rest: “We [trainers] are similar regardless where we come from. What differentiates us is on how we facilitate, how we tackle the topic, and approach the audience so that they learn during each training session.” During the camp, Arvin albeit being relatively new in
the company was also given the chance to talk about the company’s best practices.

This competition allowed the Training and Development team, headed by Bodjie Pamintuan to showcase the skills of its trainers, which reflects on the company’s  sales team performance and their ability to effectively market to Filipino users.

Bridal gown designer Zandra Lim marks 15 years with charity event

To mark her 15th anniversary as a bridal gown designer, Zandra Lim is giving back with Crystal Bridal Fair at Discovery Primea in Makati City on September 15-16.

The highlights of the bridal fair are the gala fashion show of Zandra Lim Designs on September 15 and a silent auction of the fashion show pieces on September 16. Proceeds from the sales of tickets to the fashion show and auction will go to charity. Even the bridal fair suppliers will donate part of their sales to charity.

The proceeds will help fund the treatment needs of social service patients at the Cancer Institute of St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City.

“My husband Dr. Mars Imasa is an oncologist. He has always been confronted with delays and even premature termination of chemotherapy of cancer patients due to financial constraints, most specifically those who are marginalized,” said Lim.

Lim and her husband have always espoused charity work without the fanfare.

“The 15th anniversary of my presence in the wedding industry is a good opportunity to push a cause bigger than what we have been doing,” said Lim.

Lim is a BS Pharmacy graduate from the University of Santo Tomas and while she loved being a pharmacist, her love for fashion and design could not be denied. Her atelier Zandra Lim Designs was established in 2003 and since then, Lim has been considered one of the country’s top designers for bridal gowns.

Lim studied at the Istituto di Moda Burgo in Milan, Italy, where she took Istilista di Abiti di Sposa (Fashion Design, specializing in Wedding Dress) and also took a course in Textile Effects at the University of the Arts, London-Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.

Beyond these credentials, Lim has extensive experience on working with brides and listening to what they want to wear and how they want their weddings to be.

“Every bride wants to wear something special on her wedding day, be it simple, grand, or in between. That is where I come in, to create that special dress and make it a beautiful masterpiece,” said Lim.

Elegance is a trademark of any gown that comes from Zandra Lim designs, whether they are haute couture or from the Ready to Wed line. For haute couture, the design of each gown is unique to the bride, her personality and what she wants. Whether the bride wants beading all over her gown or just embroidery, she will get what she wants. The bride will walk down the aisle in a gown that she has envisioned and wished for.

Lim’s use of luxurious fabrics is perfect for her unapologetically feminine aesthetic.  Intricate detailing and sparkling embellishment make each gown a frame for the wearer’s beauty and elegance.

Admission to Crystal Bridal Fair is free. Door open 6PM on the 15th and 10am on the 16th.

Crystal Bridal Fair is being staged in partnership with Niceprint, Amantefleurs, Rhed Sarmiento Events, and Discovery Primea and is sponsored by Metrotech Projectors, LST Lights & Sounds, and Pikulyar Photo.

Pair your Costa Coffee's Cold Brew with the new wafflewich and save up to P80!

Since I am watching my diet and love coffee. I have been trying on these cold brews nowadays. They are just plain cold coffee without the sugar and cream. They are my new addiction aside of course from fruit and brewed teas.

COSTA COFFEE pumps some adrenaline rush to the ber months, beginning this September by introducing a new and refreshing way to get your caffeine fix! Have a cup of Costa Coffee’s Cold Brew, a new and #Londonstyle kind of cool way to jumpstart any day.

Costa Coffee serves seven premium flavours of its latest coffee innovation: the classic and thirst-quenching Cold Brew Black and Cold Brew White, the naturally sweet Cold Brew Caramel, the creamy Cold Brew Vanilla, the sparkling Cold Brew Mojito that comes with a bit of fizz and mint flavour, and the silky well-balanced Cold Brew with Whipped Milk.

Each was designed to enhance the taste profile of the slow brewed, single-origin blend and offer discerning coffee lovers with cold coffee teeming with a rich and balanced flavour. Coffee aficionados can also enjoy Costa Coffee’s Ice Shaken Flat White with Whipped Milk.

These smooth, chilled drinks are handcrafted from 100% single origin, carefully-selected Arabica Colombian beans that are immersed in fresh filtered water and brewed in-store by baristas for 20 hours to bring out the coffee’s natural sweetness. The brew is then chilled for at least 12 hours before being serving over ice to produce a smooth and light texture. And because the slow brewing process does not use heat, coffee acidity is reduced, resulting in a more distinct taste.

Costa Coffee also launches its new line of Wafflewich, a fusion of light and fluffy waffle toasts with your favourite filling or spread—to simulate a sandwich. There’s the Choco Banana Wafflewich with choco-hazelnut cream & banana slices, Berry Butter Wafflewich that’s oozing with strawberry jam and butter shavings, and the Cream Cheese Wafflewich slathered and packed with cream cheese goodness.

But can all these get any better? It can! Because there’s a “Wafflewich Combo” beginning September 6! Now you can now pair your desired Cold Brew coffee (all in Primo size) and pair it with any Wafflewich of your choice for P250 only (up to P80 savings).

So, grab Costa Coffee’s brrrand new Cold Brew at the following branches: Robinsons Galleria; Robinsons Place Manila; Robinsons Place Antipolo; Robinsons Metro East; Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Galleria; Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Place Manila; Robinsons Selections, Venice Grand Canal; Robinsons Equitable Tower; Robinsons Summit Center; Robinsons Cyber Sigma, McKinley West; Robinsons Tera Tower, Bridgetown; Cebu Pacific Air Building, Pasay City; Robinsons Cybergate Tower 3; Citywalk 1, Eastwood; U.P. Town Center; The Block, SM North Edsa and SM City Manila.  The “Wafflewich Combo” is available in all stores except kiosks.)

Vivo's V11 has expansive storage to meet the growing demands of its users

Vivo is constantly pushing the boundaries in smartphone advancements by merging functionality and modernity for its consumers’ convenience. One prime example of Vivo’s pledge to innovation is its emphasis on having expansive storage for its upcoming smartphones, which has become an essential tool for everyday responsibilities, wants, and needs.

Most smartphones nowadays no longer give importance to phone storage capacity. But this feature is, in fact, vital to keep travel photos, family videos, apps, songs, and games in a single device. With ample storage capacity, smartphone savvy users no longer have to stop everything just to delete a memorable photo or a favorite song to make space for new memories and adventures. Thus, a smartphone’s storage capacity has become an important feature that the always on-the-go millennials, selfie lovers, and gamers scrutinize when they are buying a new unit.

With these consumer habits in mind, Vivo is set to launch a more substantial and expansive storage to meet the growing demands of its users.

Continuous improvements have been introduced to further develop Vivo’s products such as the V7+ and the V9 with 64 GB ROM (supports microSD Card up to 256GB).

Vivo’s latest flagship smartphone in the Philippines, the X21, has superb storage capacity with 128 GB, which is expandable to 256 GB. Meanwhile, the Vivo NEX has 128 GB, proving that Vivo is pushing to offer more to its consumers.

Always evolving and keeping its fans on their toes, everyone’s excited for what else is more to come for Vivo. #
