“Wag Mong Isuko Ang Laban” with Maxipeel

I remember having a bad break out during my late 30s. It was the worst years of my life. I never broke out as a teenager.

As I have been the center of ridicule and "chizmis" being "tander na pini pimples pa". I sought advice of a dermatologist and she prescribed me a lot of oral medicines plus topical ointment to put on morning before I go to work, and evening before I sleep at night. My dermatologist diagnosed it as Adult Acne.

It was difficult during the "purging" moment. Because my face bled profusely. I was even called a "zombie" during my commuting going to work.It was that bad and believe it or not. I never go out on weekends except for groceries with my kids. I aways cancelled pIans. And I always wear my sunglasses, even at night.
I was on a sick leave every month and even used my vacation leaves as my SL maxed out. I thought it would never end. But thank God after 2 difficult years, I won and never had a pimple ever since. Knock on wood hahaha.
I guess the big factor attributed to, if youre having a "sumpa" or pimples attact. Is that you are over stressed about something. You cant sleep at night. You indulge yourself with too much junk food or worst youre bad with hygiene. I suggests you to seek consultation first before trying on medicines. Do not self medicate and pick your pimples.

Kata on Day 21

Last week, I had an opportunity to meet the 4 women behind "Maxipeel's TVC. Wag Mong Isuko ang Laban”. (Don’t Give Up the Fight).
They were on their Day 21 using Maxipeel's product under the dermatologist supervision. There was a big smile on their faces as it  showed some improvement. It was slowly clearing up.
They told that they were called names like "panget",  "tigidig", "matandang dalaga" and statements like "mukang walang pag asa", and "di na makakapag asawa", "mga OA".
They were hurt by those.
They were thankful that Maxipeel picked them up and began their transformation. As they are on their way to achieve smooth and pimple-free face on their 60-day journey.

We see it every day, a lot of us have had acne at some point in our lives, but for these women, it’s the source of an undying insecurity, causing them pain that goes beyond skin deep, scarring not only their faces, but also their self-esteem.
And in a society where looks and aesthetic is very influential, the fight for respect and equality is a lifelong struggle for people with pimples. But that fight is a fight that Maxi-Peel is unwilling to give up. The brand’s mission is to amplify the voices of those who have been misjudged, ridiculed, and discriminated because of their acne through their newest campaign — “'Wag Mong Isuko ang Laban”. (Don’t Give Up the Fight)

Maxi-Peel puts their brand on the line with a documentary campaign that follows 4 women from different walks of life in a 60-day journey with Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Solutions, capturing real progress, with real results in real time. The campaign begins with a heart-wrenching 60-second testimonial video of these 4 women telling everyone what society tells them every day. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Y2RbkvDD4)
“Alam mo Kata, mas maganda ka sana kung kasing kinis ng legs mo yung mukha mo.”Kata San Mateo, a digital marketing head and an aspiring artist, recalls a painful moment during her acne breakout. Teary-eyed,she continues, “Siyempre tatawa-tawa lang ako pero sa loob loob ko, sobra na.”
“Bakit siya ‘yung napiling host, eh ang dami niyang pimples?”Andrea Roces, a retail manager and an active humanitarian says pimples have affected her work and her credibility, damaging her self-esteem and self-belief, “The confidence I’ve built for many years, it all goes away.”

“Honestly, lately hindi ako lumalabas ng bahay. There’s this misconception na ‘pag ma-pimple ka, madumi ka kaya sometimes I feel hopeless.”A former special education teacher, now a full-time mom, Angeline Carandang powers through the negativity, despite an overwhelming feeling of insecurity, “Behind this face, I can be a great mom… matatapos din ‘to, ngayon lang ‘to.”
“Nakulam ka ba… Naagnas ka na”Joepy Libo-on, a cum laude graduate who is now working as a marketing manager, still remembers some of the most painful things people have told her. “Before n’ung sobrang lala talaga ng pimples ko, there was a time na sobrang bumaba ng self-esteem ko.”

Through real stories from real people, Maxi-Peel aims to open our eyes and minds to the truth behind acne. That removing pimples is not just about being beautiful, or achieving smoother skin, or to gain more followers, those are just the aesthetic effects. The real purpose of the brand is to help Filipinos treat and cure an actual skin condition, boost their self-confidence, revive their self-belief, and empower them to have a fighting chance against prejudice and discrimination.
This fight isn’t just about the face, this fight is about facing challenges head on, and acknowledging that it’s only just a phase. Never quitting, never stopping. To all Filipino women out there who have lost their confidence, hope is not lost. You can get past this, in your fight against acne and all its inherent negativity, “Wag Mong Isuko Ang Laban”.

How to spot a really good pizza

"THERE’S NO BETTER FEELING IN THE WORLD THAN A WARM PIZZA BOX IN YOUR LAP"

What is it about pizza that makes us crave for it? Is it the sight of oozing cheese, the juiciness of the overloaded toppings or the aroma of a freshly baked crust? If you still can’t figure out what makes pizza so irresistible, it’s probably because there is an art (and a science) to making the best-tasting pizza.

Baking this all-time favorite takes more than just topping the pizza with all the flavorsome stuff and popping it in the oven. The good thing is, every barkada’s favorite pizza chain, Greenwich, has given several insider tips on how to spot a really good pizza.

1.         All-in toppings. Let’s be honest, the sight, smell, and of course, taste of a pizza that’s overloaded with toppings has always been tempting. While it’s true that you can top it off with whatever basic ingredient you want, a pizza becomes even more delicious if it’s generously sprinkled with the tastiest and meatiest toppings. Imagine enjoying a pizza that has all of your favorite meaty toppings like ham, pepperoni, burger crumbles, bacon, Italian sausage, and Spanish sausage, plus additional ingredients to complement the taste such as veggies, pineapples, mushrooms and cheese – that’s all-in flavor in one crust like the new Greenwich All-In Overload Pizza. A favorite of actor Enrique Gil, the All-in Overload is packed with the meatiest ingredients that’s an explosion of flavor with every bite.

2.         The dough has it. Contrary to what most people think, the pizza crust is more than just a base for the toppings. It actually sets the initial flavor base and texture of the entire pizza. This is why Greenwich really pays attention to the dough they use for the crust, which is important to a pizza fan like Robi Domingo. Unlike the ready-made crusts you see in the supermarket, Greenwich goes all out by preparing their dough from scratch daily, using only the best ingredients. Since the crust is made fresh every day, you can be assured that each crust has the right texture and is flavorful down to the last millimeter. If you like to munch down on pizza to the very tip like Robi, then the taste, texture and heft of each crust matters! No leftover crusts here!

3.         Best shared with the barkada. Some things are just better when shared – and pizza certainly tops that list. It’s not because the dish is too filling, or the quantity can become too overwhelming for one person, but some dishes like pizza are just more fun to eat when the entire barkada is in tow! Sharing a pizza that’s overloaded with toppings, flavor and that unmistakable pizza goodness with friends is enjoyable because it heightens the experience you have with each bite. Especially when you want to unwind with the darling of your barkada like Yassi Pressman, sharing an overloaded pizza while you’re chillin’ makes barkada time even more fun. #BarkadaGoals unlocked!

Of course, it would be better if you could test your pizzanatomy know-how on an actual pizza, like Greenwich’s new All-in Overload. The All-in Overload is loaded with six kinds of meat: ham, pepperoni, bacon, Italian sausage, burger crumbles, and Spanish sausage plus veggies, cheese, pineapples and mushrooms. This deliciously satisfying pizza has everything you would want in a pizza and is just right for the entire barkada.

You can get the All-in Overload pizza as part of the Overloaded Trio exclusive delivery offer. For only P499, you and your barkada can enjoy 3 of your favorite flavor-loaded double-sized Greenwich pizzas. Call #5-55-55, or order online at greenwichdelivery.com for some all-in goodness..

Metrobank: Meaningful Banking every step of the way, for the customers of today and tomorrow

I started saving up and putting all my hard-earned money at Metrobank two decades ago. I had a hard time choosing between the other top 2. I have decided to choose  Metrobank among others because of their good customer service, and that they are accessible to both digital and in-bank services.

The best thing is that they now offer cardless transaction aside from online banking. I really need that for my online business. You know that youre in good hands with your bank when you feel safe with your hard-earned money.

“In this day and age, we see a lot of developments as our customers continue to evolve. Thus, to keep our promise of keeping them in good hands, the bank must evolve as well,” says Metrobank President Fabian S. Dee. “Today, we announce the start of the next stage of Metrobank’s transformation journey as we aim to deliver Meaningful Banking for our customers. It is our re-commitment to put customers at the heart of everything we do---to listen and understand them as we strive to move, change, and grow together.”

As it begins a new journey to Meaningful Banking, it introduces a new communication campaign featuring its new Metrobank signature frame that serves as a visual focal point highlighting its customers’ meaningful stories. 8 Things you should know about your body and your liver

If you have suffered from fatigue, sudden nausea and vomiting.  Abdominal pain, especially on the right side beneath your lower ribs.

If  you have dark urine and joint pain. Its time to get yourself checked up by your doctor. Because these are the early signs and or symptoms of Hepatitis.

If not treated properly, hepatitis can lead to cirrhosis, liver cancer and other serious conditions that can threaten your life and once you have reached these stages. Your options may be very limited. Its very important to cure liver disease in the inflammation and fibrosis stages as it may have a chance to heal itself and recover.

Live a healthy life, exercise a lot, go on a balanced and healthful diet. Your diet should include plenty of fruit and vegetables. Eat healthy fats like those in avocados, olive oil and nuts.  Watch your alcohol intake and take your liver supplements as well. Prevention is better than cure.

The liver is the largest internal organ of the body. More than 500 bodily functions are attributed to it. It may as well be called a “Silent Hero”.

Here are some things you should know about your liver.

1.      Your liver is a storage facility. It stores important vitamins, energy and minerals and releases them in the blood.

2.     Your liver is a soldier. It helps in resisting infections by producing immune factors and removing bacteria from the blood.

3.       Think of your liver is your nutrient processing plant. Every time you feed, your liver feeds you. It processes multiple nutrients once your food is digested. So what you eat and drink can tell how healthy your liver is. Among liver-friendly food and drinks are grapes, berries, garlic, coffee and green tea

4.      Your liver is a detoxifier. It detoxifies by metabolizing and expelling drugs, alcohol and environmental toxins from your system.

5.       The liver also produces proteins that are crucial in blood clotting.

6.       Alcohol abuse is a common cause of liver disease but obesity, parasites, viruses and bacteria can also affect your liver health

7.       Symptoms of liver disease can include fatigue, jaundice, abdominal pain and weight loss. If you have any of these symptoms persistently, consult a doctor. There are blood tests used to help diagnose and monitor liver disease or damage. These tests measure the levels of liver enzymes and proteins in your blood.

8.     Be kind to your liver. Eat and drink mindfully. Remember that the liver gives your body the energy for its day-to-day needs.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and proper diet together wth intake of essential phospolipids may help improve liver function. Manufactured in Germany, Phospolipids (Essentiale Forte P) contains purified essential phospholipids or EPL, which is extracted from natural food that can be easily absorbed by liver cells. Essentiale, an over-the-counter medicine, is clinically proven to strengthen liver health by promoting the repairing function and regeneration of liver cells.

The liver is one of the most important organs of the body and is responsible for the chemical actions that the body needs to survive. Take care of it always.
