Hacks for you to be able to get to your destination safely

With the holidays over, thousands of Filipinos are coming back from their hometowns or simply traveling to get to work.

If you are one of these commuters, please remember that the pandemic is not yet over, and strict health protocols are still in place.

However, there are ways for you to be able to get to your destination safely. AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance providers, is here to give you some tips on just that.

Prepare for cashless payments. Many transport services have implemented cashless paying schemes as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 virus. For example, ride-hailing apps only accept bookings if you will pay through your e-wallet or credit or debit cards. Also, trains and some buses only allow passengers to ride if they have a reloadable contactless smart card. To avoid any hassle, make sure that you have the necessary apps and cards. But if you have to pay with cash, it’s best to prepare the exact amount to lessen physical contact.

Always bring your essentials. When you take public transportation, you may be at risk and be exposed to many strangers. Remember to always protect yourself by properly wearing your face mask and face shield. It’s also best to bring a spray bottle of alcohol and a pack of sanitary wipes to not only clean your hands, but to also sanitize handrails, windows, and other surfaces in a public vehicle.

Check required travel documents. Since regions in the country are under different levels of quarantine, some places may have stricter policies and health measures than others. This means that some cities may require you to present certain documents prior to entry. These may include a travel pass issued by municipal offices or city chief of police, medical certificate, company ID, and a negative RT-PCR result. Because of this, make sure to do your research before traveling and prepare whatever is necessary.

Keep yourself entertained. If you’re going to ride the train, a bus, or a van service, expect the lines to be long. Since these modes of transportation can’t operate at full capacity, you probably have to wait in line for a long time. So, fight the boredom and frustration by keeping yourself entertained. Before you leave the house, you can download movies or a television series that you can binge-watch on your phone as you wait in line. You can also create a music playlist, listen to podcasts, install new games, or bring a pocketbook to help you pass the time.

Avoid talking and eating. When in public transportation, refrain from talking or eating as this will require you to open your mouth or take off your mask. Conversations can wait until you are indoors and no longer around strangers. Likewise, make sure that you eat before you leave the house so that you won’t get hungry while travelling.

Have an emergency contact. When you’re on the road, regardless if you are commuting or riding a private car, it’s best to have someone to reach out to in case of emergencies. To help with this, AXA Philippines has Rescue Line, a special service accessible through the Emma by AXA app that provides 24/7 free access to emergency response such as roadside assistance, police, and ambulance anytime, anywhere. With just a few taps, professional help may be requested, and your loved ones will be simultaneously notified of your emergency situation and current location. What's more, AXA has also enhanced its emergency response services with Rescue Line’s geotag feature which can help pinpoint your location faster and more accurately. You may download Emma by AXA via App Store and Google Play and register or create your account, even if you are not yet an AXA insurance policyholder.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. introduces JetBot 90 AI+ Vacuum with AI-Based Sensors and Navigation

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. introduces innovative new home appliances that can help automate daily tasks. The new JetBot 90 AI+ features smart technologies that optimize its cleaning route and respond to its environment. Meanwhile, Samsung’s new AI Control Front Load washers and dryers use artificial intelligence to learn user preferences and recommend optimal washing and drying cycles. Both the JetBot 90 AI+ and smart washer were recently recognized with this year’s CES Innovation Awards and will arrive in the U.S. in the first half of 2021.

“At Samsung, we’re committed to delivering new appliance innovations that inspire families, while helping make life at home easier in ways not thought of before,” said John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliances. “By automating your floor care and learning your laundry preferences, these new home appliances remove items from your to-do list, freeing you up to do more of what you love.”

JetBot 90 AI+ Vacuum with AI-Based Sensors and Navigation

The JetBot 90 AI+—the world’s first smart robotic vacuum, powered by Intel® AI—gives your floors an amazing clean with minimal effort.

Using a combination of sensors and AI-enhanced object recognition technology, the JetBot 90 AI+ navigates your home with the same efficiency and care you do. A LiDAR sensor, similar to that used in self-driving cars, detects distance and tracks location for precise movements. A 3D sensor recognizes the difference between objects such as a toy and the leg of a chair, detects even small objects on the floor, and recognizes a room’s shape to maneuver around it. An object recognition algorithm allows it to identify objects of all kinds and map the safest, most efficient route. JetBot 90 AI+ then uses this information to clean closely around items on the floor, while being sure to maintain a safe distance from fragile or delicate objects, and to lower itself under furniture when needed. If anything is classified as dangerous or likely to cause secondary contamination, it will simply avoid the object.

As it cleans the floor, the JetBot 90 AI+’s advanced digital inverter motor maximizes the 30W suction power of its Jet Cyclone system to trap dust from the air and dirt from the floor. The unit’s self-cleaning brush, which has fine fibers made of soft woven textiles, picks up dust from hard floor and reaches into crevices.

When it’s finished cleaning, the JetBot 90 AI+ automatically heads back to the Clean Station™, Samsung’s signature disposal system. There, it empties the dirt, dust, and hair it has collected into a bag that you only need to replace once every two to three months.

And by connecting to your smartphone via the Samsung SmartThings app, the JetBot 90 AI+ literally puts its cleaning power in your hands. Control your vacuum from anywhere—schedule a clean, set “no-go zones” on a map of your home, or even connect to its camera to keep an eye on your home and your pets while you’re away.

Streamlined Clothing Care with AI-Powered Washer-Dryer Pair

Samsung’s AI innovations are continually changing the way consumers tackle everyday tasks. The new 8800 Series AI Control Front Load washers and dryers have been redesigned to make laundry easier, more intuitive, and less stressful.

Samsung is bringing its signature AI Control technology to the new laundry pair. The AI Control intelligently learns your preferred cycles and settings, then prioritizes them for quick access in a simplified, easy-to-use control panel. It also recommends specific cycles based on intelligent learning of past cycles run on particular days of the week or at specific times.

Its powerful AI Wash feature detects the laundry load’s weight and uses a patented Turbidity Sensor to determine the ideal amount of water and detergent to use in the cycle. It also determines how long to wash clothing, ensuring that clothes come out their cleanest.

Using a stacked washer and dryer has never been easier for the Auto Cycle Link feature automatically selects the best drying course based on your usual or past wash courses.

You can also use the SmartThings app to receive end of cycle alerts, remotely start or stop your wash, schedule cycles, and more, right from your smartphone.

The JetBot 90 AI+ and laundry pair will be on display at Samsung’s virtual CES exhibit from January 11 to 14. For more information on Samsung’s latest products, please visit https://www.samsung.com/us/explore/experiences/ces2021.

"Miss Q & A" marks the third feature film from Insight 360 Films

Miss Q & A marks the third feature film from Insight 360 Films and has released a teaser music video "Halika" by Seth Dungca.

It comes in the wake of Echorsis, an award-winning horror comedy from 2016, and 2020’s Mia, a romantic comedy film with an environmental message.

INSIGHT 360 Films “Miss Q & A: Para Sa Magaganda Lang Ba Ang Love Life?”—starring Kakai Bautista and Zoren Legaspi.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Lemuel Lorca and produced by Chris Cahilig, “Miss Q & A” tells the story of a romantically frustrated pageant trainer and public relations maverick (Bautista) who goes on a blind date with a handsome photographer (Legaspi). The screenplay was written by John Bedia in collaboration with Lorca and Cahilig.

The song “Halika,” written and performed by emerging recording artist Seth Dungca, became the perfect accompaniment to the teaser music video. The music’s warm and inviting instrumentation, combined with Dungca’s soothing delivery, flawlessly captures the wistful feeling of being in the throes of a new love.

In the music video, we see love beginning to blossom between our two leads as they spend time at a theme park. With each attraction they visit, the sparks that fly between Kakai and Zoren’s characters ignite powerful emotions they hadn’t felt before.

Cahilig expresses the entire team’s exhilaration in sharing this story with the Filipino audience. Miss Q & A reminds us that love can happen for all regardless of age or appearance,” says Cahilig. “It’s what makes this film very special to all of us involved in its creation. After investing so much hard work and time in its production, we are incredibly excited about everyone finally seeing the finished product.”

Cahilig is confident that the soon-to-be-released film will meet the stringent standards left by its predecessors. “With Miss Q & A, Insight 360 continues its push towards telling unique and compelling stories that Filipinos can relate to. We are very hopeful that Filipino audiences will enjoy this movie just as much as we enjoyed making it for them.”

Seth Dungca’s “Halika” is available for streaming on Spotify.

BRIA’s houses and lots for sale and its rent-to-own homes is now available through virtual tours

BRIA has resolutely provided solidly built, stylish, and affordable houses and lots to Filipinos across the country.

Ive been asking myself if this is the right time to buy a house, well If you're secure in your job and you have some savings, it's actually the best time to purchase especially that everyone is working from home and kids are into remote schooling.

Filipinos are known for their resilience and their ability to adapt to crises. This is how they survived—and even thrived—during the country’s most trying year in recent memory. Displaying the same grit and tenacity moving forward, they continue to place home and hearth in the forefront.

BRIA Homes understands this. It also acknowledges how Filipinos have always been about providing for and protecting their families. Thus, an essential need for them is a comfortable home and—under current circustances—a safe haven for their loved ones. This is why for the longest time, BRIA has resolutely provided solidly built, stylish, and affordable houses and lots to Filipinos in safe and secure BRIA housing developments across the country.

Now, with the pandemic a lingering threat to everyone’s health, BRIA Homes persists in highlighting their property management with stringent hygiene and sanitation measures and a continuous adoption of technology in doing business.

To date, BRIA Homes helps its residents adhere to health protocols by accepting digital payments for local and international bills through its partner banks such as Maybank, BDO, Unionbank, PNB, Security Bank, RCBC, and Metrobank. Residents and prospective homeowners can also use e-wallets such as All Easy, GCash, and Paymaya to remit their payments.

Prospective homeowners may still view BRIA’s houses and lots for sale and its rent-to-own homes through virtual tours and by availing of BRIA’s digital open-house events and live-selling of its projects.
