BRIA Homes is presenting four newly launched projects in progressive towns and cities in Luzon

BRIA’s Vertical Villages offer three ‘stars’ as its main features: Affordability, Accessibility, and Independence.

If youre an OFW and would want to have your dream house, now is the best time to own one as there is less competition in the realty business today because of pandemic. You get to choose where and what you want your dream house to be.

With a fast-mutating virus sending the country into yet another cycle of strict quarantines, people are once again finding refuge in their homes which are rightfully deemed as the safest places to wait out the crisis. This explains why hardworking Filipinos are now more primed to purchase homes, prioritizing this over other goals as they visualize their post-pandemic future. This is especially true with overseas Filipinos who look forward to coming home upon retirement to sturdy, pleasant, and comfortable dwellings in—or close to—the towns and cities of their birth. Learning valuable lessons from the ongoing health crisis, OFWs are placing their hard-earned money and savings in property they can love and thrive in for the long haul.

To serve their needs, BRIA Homes, a leading developer of affordable housing in the Philippines, continues to offer affordable house and lot units in vibrant communities that provide safety, security, and strategic location. Riding on the back of their tried-and-tested formula—Affordability (Mura) + Quality (Dekalidad) = A Beautiful BRIA Home for Every Filipino—BRIA has, through the years, helped address the shortfall in the property market’s affordable housing segment.

Now BRIA Homes is presenting four newly launched projects in progressive towns and cities in Luzon: BRIA Homes San Fernando in Pampanga; BRIA Homes Bay in Laguna; Bria Condo Calamba in Laguna; and Bria Condo General Trias in Cavite.

Aspiring Filipino homeowners who prefer a serene and calming environment may check out BRIA Homes Bay in Laguna, will bask in its relaxing “staycation” vibes and its proximity to the country’s largest fresh water lake.

North of Manila is BRIA Homes San Fernando in Pampanga, the Culinary Capital of the Philippines. Pampanga-born OFWs and even first-time Pampanga residents among them will relish pre- and post-retirement life in this BRIA community that has access to well-hyped heritage tours, family adventures, and the province’s famous food destinations.

Apart from touting idyllic settings, BRIA Homes Bay in Laguna; and San Fernando, Pampanga are secured by perimeter walls, guarded entrances, 24/7 CCTV coverage, and LED lighting. All have lush, open green spaces, a feature that recently earned recognition from the 2021 Real Estate Asia Awards as “Open Space Development of the Year”.

BRIA Homes is presenting four newly launched projects in progressive towns and cities in Luzon.

BRIA communities are likewise close to schools, hospitals, retail establishments, churches, and major road networks. On top of this, these three BRIA Homes in Luzon stand to benefit from the government’s massive infrastructure drive that is significantly reducing travel time between boom towns and cities in the north—and will continue to do so as projects are completed.

Meanwhile, BRIA Homes sees a robust market in the over 111-million-strong population of millennials seeking affordable condominium units with ample space, efficient floor layouts, and access to essentials that support their lifestyles. These hard-driving young professionals will find these elements in Bria Condo Calambain Laguna and Bria Condo General Trias in Cavite.

BRIA’s Condo series of projects, aptly called Vertical Villages, are contemporary mid-rise condominium developments that offer three ‘stars’ as its main features: Affordability, Accessibility, and Independence. Despite their units bearing ‘starter pack’ price tags, Bria Condo Calamba and Bria Condo General Trias will boast of amenities normally unheard of in economical vertical spaces such as a communal clubhouse with function halls, swimming pools, and complete gym facilities.

All Bria Condo projects will be four-story walk-ups—an ideal home base for young and hardworking Filipino professionals. Each Astra unit will be a 24-square-meter space with provisions for a bedroom, dining and kitchen area, living area, and toilet and bath.

BRIA’s Calamba and General Trias Condos assure their unit owners of a safe and healthy environment, with security facilities and stringent sanitation procedures.

Indeed, Red Rosales, President of BRIA Homes, has reason to cheer the launch the five new projects under the company’s banner. BRIA has always aimed to provide affordable, superior-quality housing to aspiring Filipino homeowners here and abroad,” Rosales says. “The global crisis only serves to spur us to boost our product portfolio in order to make such homes available to them.”

Capital One Philippines working mothers shared their personal experiences and advice on work-life balance

Balancing work and being a mother is no easy task. You are constantly under pressure to be in your best form as a mom and as a career woman. As if it wasn’t hard enough, the pandemic came and kicked it up a notch and the support that was once their anchor such as school and childcare is now upended.

Women are often paid less and are more vulnerable to retrenchment. Because of the pandemic, women are either being let go or are forced to give up their jobs to take care of the household. According to data from the International Labour Organization, because of these dynamics, 29.4 million women ages 25 and above, from 55 high- and middle-income countries, lost their jobs between the 4th quarter of 2019 and the 2nd quarter of 2020.

In an effort to show support and ensure the safety and job security of its associates, Capital One Philippines provided flexibility and expanded benefits.

“Here in Capital One Philippines, we strive to provide an environment where all associates have the support system they need to address the challenges they are currently facing due to the pandemic,” said Capital One Philippines General Manager, Osman “Oz” Parvaiz, “The last thing we want to happen is to make them feel that they have to prioritize work over self-care, or that they do not have enough resources to care for their loved ones.”

Capital One Philippines working mothers shared their personal experiences and advice on work-life balance.

Lianne Muhlfeld, a Capital One Philippines’ people manager is a mother to a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old. Since her children are doing school at home, Lianne wakes up a little earlier to take care of their needs and assist them with their classes before going to work.

“Thankfully, I have some flexibility in managing my schedule at work to help me balance my work and my family’s needs,” Lianne shared. “Having a company that considers the needs of each associate has provided peace of mind and lessened the anxiety that we each are facing during this pandemic,” she added.

Gracie Magallanes-Hawak, one of Capital One Philippines’ coordinators is a mother of three, ranging from one to eight years old, including a 4-year-old who was diagnosed with a developmental condition. In having her youngest at the peak of the pandemic last year, Gracie was very focused on the safety of her family.

“When I went back to the office and saw the safety and health measures we had in place, I felt relieved that my workplace was caring for my own and my family’s safety. I also appreciate the increase in our HMO benefits, enabling me to add more dependents for free and allocate more budget for the needs of my children,” shared Gracie.

These benefits have been furthered through the support of employee resource groups like EmpowHer, a community of women and allies,  that provides support and advice while working together to continue the advancement of women inside and outside of the company.

One of Capital One Philippines’ unit managers can attest to this. Michelle ‘Mitch’ Osorio has been with the company since it opened its doors in the country and she shared, “Being with a company that promotes diversity and inclusion, there are a lot of opportunities available for mothers like me. Through the EmpowHER BRG, I was able to find sisters with whom I can communicate openly and share common interests. By being part of this BRG, I can give back to the company by helping elevate other women.”

Capital One Philippines believes its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging across all fronts is important now more than ever. Rob Nunnally, Capital One Philippines Assistant General Manager said, “We need to ensure that all associates, including mothers, continue to have a safe workplace where they can thrive and a supportive community where they belong.”

Puregold Channel’s GVBOYS is your weekly dose of fun and laughter!

One of the lovable things about sitcoms is how relatable they can be. Visit the Puregold Channel to watch "GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes", a free digital sitcom that follows the lives of three young men who live in a boarding house owned by a woman named Aling Pearly (played by sitcom veteran, Ms. Carmi Martin).

The story’s plot revolves around three young men and how they deal with concerns such as adulting, financial challenges, love, friendship and compassion.

The three boys--played by Jerome Ponce, Nikko Natividad, and Dave Bornea--try to help Aling Pearly raise money which she owes Loisa Soberano (played by Wilma Doesnt) and in the process, fall in love, chase their dreams, and get into humorous situations.

In the third episode of "GVBOYS", Jawo is shooting for a commercial booked by Kathryn B (Aling Pearly's brother). When things get out of hand, Kathryn steps in to do a kissing scene in his place. This ends in Kathryn being punched by the boyfriend of the actress he kisses in the scene, jeopardizing their roles.

The end of episode four showcases Dax getting a tattoo and Zeus landing an acting job. Additionally, the show welcomes a new character, Annabel, who replaces Avana as the House Angel. The boys, especially Dax, take a liking to Annabel but they also notice something strange about her which puts them in a spooky situation. The episode ends on a cryptic note with an anonymous message sent to Loisa from someone she owes money to!

The show has received praise and insights from the viewers. "Let's hope there's someone kind enough to add English subtitles. I mean, Pinoy boys are definitely easy on the eyes. BUT I still need to understand what they are saying", said one viewer. “The cast and production are topnotch. It should be on other streaming apps.”, said another.

The Puregold Channel on YouTube has garnered an increase in subscribers. Before the launch of the first episode on July 10, the channel had less than ten thousand subscribers. At present, it has over thirty thousand subscribers. Combined views on YouTube and Facebook have also ballooned, reaching over three million for the first five episodes. The success of "GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes" has viewers hoping for a second season, this early into the first.

OMRON Healthcare announces that its blood pressure monitoring (BPM) devices will now be available at Mercury Drug

OMRON Healthcare, a global leader in the field of clinically proven, innovative medical equipment, announces that its blood pressure monitoring (BPM) devices will now be available at Mercury Drug, the leading drugstore in the country. The latest OMRON HEM 7156-A model is already out in selected Mercury Drug stores nationwide.

OMRON, alongside organizations such as the Philippine Society of Hypertension, continues to campaign for home blood pressure monitoring as a means to mitigate the effects of hypertension. Even amid the pandemic, high blood pressure continues to be one of the top causes of mortality among Filipinos, with the latest survey from the Philippine Heart Association placing the prevalence rate of hypertension at 37 percent.[1] Despite this alarming statistic, only about 25% of hypertensives monitor their blood pressure at home, the survey further reveals.

Through this collaboration with Mercury Drug, OMRON reaffirms its commitment to help more Filipino families achieve good heart health.

“Our partnership with Mercury Drug allows us to bring OMRON closer to more Filipinos. With Mercury Drug’s vast network of more than 1,200 stores nationwide, we have a larger platform to make our world-class and reliable healthcare technologies more accessible to Filipinos. As we continue to forge more partnerships and expand the channels where our products are available, we remain steadfast in our commitment to promote home blood pressure monitoring as a means to help prevent the complications resulting from hypertension,” shared Yusuke Kato, General Manager for OMRON Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd – Philippine Branch (Healthcare Division).

Mercury Drug has been offering branded and generic medicines, medical devices, and healthcare and personal care products since 1945. Through the years, it has established its reputation as the leading drugstore in the Philippines, making it one of the most trusted and awarded merchants in the country today.

Ms. Vivian Que-Azcona, President of Mercury Drug Corporation said, “This partnership aligns with our mission to serve our customers – to have what they want, when, where and how they want it. This OMRON blood pressure monitoring device is a welcome addition to our  product range that will help our customers  in managing their health condition.”

Effortless Accuracy from the Comforts of Home

The HEM-7156-A is a state-of-the-art device designed for ease of use.

One of the most notable features of the HEM-7156-A is the 360-degree IntelliWrap Cuff technology. A study by Perleberg Research in 2014 revealed that one in three people measure their blood pressure inaccurately when monitoring from home.[2] A big contributor factor to this is incorrect cuff positioning. OMRON’s IntelliWrap Cuff solves this through a preformed fit cuff that gives accurate readings at any angle and reduces measurement errors at home. The cuff is even designed to make wearing easy to do even with just one hand – a benefit that is indispensable for self-monitoring.

OMRON HEM-7156-A is also equipped with Intellisense, a standard among all OMRON blood pressure monitors. This means that the device automatically personalizes the cuff inflation to eliminate pain or discomfort for the wearer during measurement. This revolutionary technology pioneered by OMRON further minimizes possible misrepresentation in readings.

The device is programmed to signal when an individual is suspected to have highly elevated blood pressure through its Hypertension Indicator. It features Pulse Rate and Body Movement Capturing and Irregular Heartbeat Detection, the latter helping to detect abnormal heart beat rhythm for early intervention and treatment of possible cardiovascular diseases. The product package also comes with a universal adapter.

The OMRON HEM-7156-A is available in selected Mercury Drug branches nationwide for only Php4,380. For more information about OMRON Healthcare’s products and their availability, please visit https://www.omronhealthcare-ap.com/ph.

Anne-Marie releases her highly anticipated new album Therapy today

Anne-Marie, who releases her highly anticipated new album Therapy today, has dropped the official video for her brand new single ‘Kiss My (Uh Oh)’ with Little Mix (watch here).

Inspired by the girls’ joint love of the movie, Bridesmaids, the official video for ‘Kiss My (Uh Oh)’ - directed by Hannah Lux Davis - sees Anne-Marie in character as a bride-to-be who embarks on her hen-do overseas alongside her bridesmaids that include Little Mix’s Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade. Brimming with laughter and chaos, the video trails the group of friends living life to the full, albeit without the pregnant Perrie and Leigh-Anne, who retire for the night before the real evening of partying begins for Anne-Marie, Jade and the rest of the crew.

A long-awaited collaboration that’s generated huge excitement amongst both Anne-Marie and Little Mix fanbases, ‘Kiss My (Uh Oh)’has all the ingredients to become the break-up anthem of summer ’21. Sampling Lumidee’s early 00’s R&B classic ‘Never Leave You (Uh Oh)’, the slick production and all-out, empowering track documents the liberating feeling that comes with walking away from a toxic relationship - a narrative that has seen protagonist Anne-Marie earn huge success following the releases of ‘Ciao Adios’, ‘FRIENDS and ‘Alarm’. Anne-Marie co-wrote the track with Kamille (Little Mix, Headie One) and production comes from Lewis Thompson (David Guetta, Joel Corry) alongside Mojam (Summer Walker, Aitch).

An artist whose everywoman candour and knock-you-down vocal range has reverberated across the globe, Anne-Marie’s new album Therapy is a collection of twelve songs that embody her characterful artistry, self-effacing attitude and beautiful honesty; attributes that have not only catapulted the Essex-born star to platinum status in the UK to the USA and everywhere in-between, but ones that have seen her reign supreme as a fearless Gen Z role model.

The pop juggernaut wrote the new album with Max Martin (Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift), Kamille, MNEK, Raye, TMS, Blake Slatkin (The Kid Laroi, 24kGoldn), Ed Sheeran, Nathan Dawe and Plested (Lewis Capaldi) – production comes from Mojam (Aitch, Fredo), Fred Ball (Rihanna), TMS and Blake Slatkin

As the country experiences heightened community quarantine measures, staying safe is everyone's top priority. Limiting our movements outside is the best thing we can do to help curb the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Thanks to financial technology, we can do our everyday transactions through our mobile phones, including sending money.

Sending money to family and friends or paying someone - even those without a bank or an e-wallet account is so much safer and convenient with PayMaya and Smart Padala.  With your PayMaya mobile wallet app, you can quickly send money from the comfort of your homes to almost anyone in the Philippines through its nation-widest Smart Padala agent network.

With this service, recipients can quickly head to the nearest Smart Padala agent. These agents are usually sari-sari stores in the neighborhood communities, so it is like walking to the house of their trusted kapitbahay – no need to commute or line up at remittance centers to claim the funds.

On top of the convenience it brings, this service is also affordable. The sending fee for this transaction is just 1.5% of the amount you're transferring – that's as low as P1.5 per transaction!

Ready to send money from PayMaya to your recipient's trusted Smart Padala agent? The process is easy. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Ask your recipient for the 16-digit account number of their preferred Smart Padala agent.
  1. On your PayMaya app, tap "Send Money"  .
  1. Enter the 16-digit Smart Padala account number on the mobile/account number field

  1. Input the amount you wish to send and tap "Continue"

Model and TV host Kelly Misa-Fernandez shares how she values loyalty and long-lasting relationships

Kelly Misa-Fernandez, model, TV host, and one of the most recognized faces in the Philippines is one whose life is made complete and beautiful by people closest to her heart helping and teaching her every step of the way. “Everything in my life that I have accomplished has never been done alone and I have been very fortunate to have met people who supported me, taught me, and enabled me to experience many things and become the best version of myself,” Kelly shared.

Long-lasting and genuine friendship

One of those people who has been intimately involved in her growth is her best friend, stylist, and former fashion editor Bianca Santiago-Reinoso who has been her rock and a constant in her life for many years. “We met in college and very early on we knew that we would be best of friends. I remember when she’d book styling gigs--she’d always recommend me and that opened a lot of doors for me. Bianca has seen me through a lot of my ups and downs and through it all she never left and pushed me to become better,” she said. “We’ve come a long way and I’m so glad that we remain close until now,” Kelly added, sharing how from fashion and work, they now bond over motherhood. “We’re at a different stage in our lives, but we still talk very often, to exchange stories and advice as we are raising our kids.”

The value of finding a good mentor

Her career that started when she was 19 was something born out of hard work and sheer determination and no one knows the lengths she went through more than her former manager Luis Espiritu. “Luis pushed me beyond my comfort zone and has always believed in me more than I believed in myself. And it was a very powerful feeling—having someone who had that much faith in me and tells me whenever I feel I’m not there yet that I’m already there. That was really inspiring for me and I will be forever grateful to Luis,” she said. Her manager’s unwavering support and loyalty motivated her to make the most of new and better opportunities, including projects that brought her to Hong Kong and different parts of Asia. “I wouldn’t have done them if it weren’t for Luis,” Kelly added.

Kelly said it feels rewarding to have the people who love and believe in her. This helped her gain confidence to pursue other aspirations. She became a fashion editor; a host of a travel lifestyle show and a noontime program and dabbled in acting. At present, she is also building her channel as a content creator and is a wife to Carlos Fernandez and mother to their son, Tristan Antonio.

A lifetime and reliable partner

For Kelly, loyalty is something she cherishes and is important in her daily life. “I really value loyalty because it is the cornerstone of the relationships I have with the most important people in my life—the fact that I feel safe and secure knowing that I have people I can rely on and that I can extend the same to them is a special thing to have,” she shared.

“The same applies to other facets of my life. As a consumer, having a trusted ally gives me less things to worry about and I can focus on doing things better because of reliable partners like PLDT Home.”

Kelly added how rewarding it is to become a loyal PLDT Home subscriber, thanks to their PLDT Home Rewards program. “I have been a PLDT Home subscriber for years and with the PLDT Home Rewards program, it’s gratifying to know that my loyalty is valued. I get to earn crystals for every transaction or activity, like when I pay my bills in full and on-time, when I enroll for my paperless billing, or when I purchase a PLDT Home gadget,” she shared. “And then I can use these crystals to get discounts from my favorite online shopping sites like Lazada, well-loved food and dining brands and even rebates to pay for PLDT and Smart products and services. But my most favorite of all is that I get to earn raffle entries to the PLDT Home Grand Giveaway where I can win as much as Php5 million!”

Indeed, loyalty and valuable partnerships open doors to rewarding opportunities. To learn more about the PLDT Home Rewards program, visit https://pldthome.info/KellyForHomeRewards.
