Puregold offers rebates with eco-friendly ‘Walang Plastik Mondays’ campaign

Whenever I go outside, I always bring an ecobag with me. Its always a routine. I started bringing  eco bags 2 yrs ago during the pandemic. Im all for sustainability and zero waste. Its never too late to be eco-friendly, I even teach my kids to do the same. Its for their future.

Let us all help conserve energy to prevent human health from deterioration, by taking care of our environment.

Single-use plastic could potentially end most of marine life as we know it. Once this happens, there is no going back and the planet will never be the same.

Did you know that the world produces about 300 million tons of plastic every year and most of these are single-use? These single-use plastics don’t decompose and turn into microplastics, which mostly end up in the world’s oceans and threaten marine life.

Single-use plastics include plastic grocery bags, water and soda bottles, and packaging straws.

Ms. Ivy Piedad, Puregold Senior Manager for Marketing

In an effort to do its part and create a substantial impact on the environment, Puregold has implemented "Walang Plastik Mondays" at all its stores in the National Capital Region. The supermarket will also give Php1 cashback for every eco bag used by Perks and Tindahan Ni Aling Puring members, who can earn up to Php5 in savings for every transaction.

“Puregold’s intent is to be a mindful company that reuses, recycles, and reduces whatever resources are available and as a retailer, encourages its customers to do the same,” said Puregold President Vincent Co. “We are very much invested in doing business sustainably and help the younger generations look forward to their future. This is a community effort and we hope to work hand in hand with our customers in achieving our objective,” said Vincent.

Puregold customers have been making more sustainable choices with a growing usage of eco bags, resulting in a decline of almost 40% in the company’s purchase of single-use plastic bags in 2021. Almost half of Puregold stores have either discontinued the use of single-use plastic bags or transitioned to more sustainable materials such as recycled carton boxes or eco bags.

To date, all Puregold stores are geared towards conversion to 100% LED main lighting to reduce energy consumption. Further, Puregold’s 135 wastewater treatment facilities are compliant with government regulations, as it also ventures into Rainwater Catchment, Gray Water reuse and other water savings and mitigating measures to lessen the company’s impact on water resources. Meanwhile, migration of business’ logistics requirements to optimum cross-dock operations efficiency is in position to help reduce carbon emission by an estimated 36%.

Go #WalangPlastikMondays at Puregold, and do your part for the environment.

JobStreet bags two awards at the 19th Philippine Quill Awards

JobStreet once again proves its industry leadership as the country’s top online job portal and career partner as they recently bagged two awards at the esteemed 19th IABC Philippine Quill Awards.

This year, the company secured recognitions for its entries Going Hyperlocal: JobStreet's Microsite Launch under Marketing and Brand Communication Category; and COVIDCOMMS 2021: Boosting the Job Market through JobStreet’s Government Virtual Career Fairs under Government Relations Category.

Aiming to help boost the job market in provinces, the campaign “Going Hyperlocal '' introduced local employment opportunities in Cebu, Iloilo, and Davao with helpful guides and resources written in their respective dialect through a dedicated microsite platform. This initiative allowed province-based hirers to easily connect with nearby candidates and likewise encourage job seekers in finding jobs that matter in their locality to help decongest Metro Manila during the pandemic.

The other entry entitled “Boosting the Job Marketing through JobStreet’s Government Virtual Career Fairs” is in partnership with the Civil Service Commission which was held in 2020 and 2021. The program aimed to help boost the job market and economy by bringing together jobseekers and companies to present new employment opportunities nationwide, conveniently through a mobile-first design application and series of webinars.

“Since the pandemic, JobStreet has been ensuring the welfare of both our hirer and candidates and we are honored that our initiatives have been acknowledged by IABC Quill awards. This recognition only drives us to continue our mission of giving Filipinos the jobs that matter paired with insightful guidance to help them thrive in their industries and professions,” shared JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca.

JobStreet has been actively extending its support to help stabilize the labor market through career webinars, virtual career fairs, and more to equip candidates in the new normal. Last year, JobStreet took home four awards for its #TogetherAhead: JobStreet’s Response to the Covid-19 Impactprogram which aimed to provide job seekers and employers support, resources, and inspiration amidst the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lista has launched their newest feature designed to help small businesses manage their day-to-day operations

Lista, a free financial management tool for MSMEs and individuals, has launched their newest feature designed to help small businesses manage their day-to-day operations more efficiently.

With the Inventory feature, business owners can add items based on the category and add information such as item cost, markup percentage, selling price, and stocks. Users can either add their own product or choose from Lista’s catalog with over 5,000 products.

It also has a feature that allows users to set the minimum number of stocks under Track Stock Quantity, where you can input the number of items you have per product and monitor when you already need to replenish it. This feature will help business owners ensure that they will always have their in-demand products on hand, capture every possible sale, and avoid overstocking.

“This has been one of the most requested features from our users,” shared Lista co-founder Khriz Lim. “With our new Inventory feature, users won’t have to worry about how to track their stocks because Lista can do it for them, allowing them to focus more on other essential parts of their operation.”

Apart from the new Inventory feature, Lista also launched in April the Savings feature, which helps individuals achieve their savings goals, and Sales Targets, which allows businesses to set a monthly sales target. Their basic features, the money in and money out which tracks income and expenses as well as the utang feature, which records debt and sends reminders for collections, remain free to use. Their recent investor funding will allow them to further expand into new verticals, making Inventory the first of many.

“Whenever we expand our services, we always try to get insights and learn from our diverse users themselves - business owners, individuals, riders and all kinds of people looking to manage their finances. We want to make sure that the features we roll out will be relevant to them,” shared Lista co-founder Aaron Villegas.

Check out how to use the Inventory tab through this tutorial video or download Lista for free through Google Play or App Store. Follow their Facebook page at facebook.com/ListaPhilippines to stay updated on their latest promos and features.

Here are the two main reasons for the widespread shift towards sustainable mobility

Mobility has become more than just going from point A to point B.  In the Philippines, more things have to be considered when traveling such as road traffic, faster routes, fuel expenses, and environmental hazards. With that, more and more alternatives have been introduced such as walking, cycling, and driving electric vehicles.

For the same reasons, Philippine Saving Bank (PSBank) partnered with Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) to offer Say Hi To Hybrid Auto Loan Promo, making Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) like Toyota’s Corolla Cross 1.8V Hybrid and Corolla Altis 1.8V Hybrid CVT more accessible to Filipinos. For its technology, HEVs are easily a better option for sustainable transportation.

Here are the two main reasons for the widespread shift towards sustainable mobility:

Save Mother Earth

Mainly, HEVs continue to be a better alternative mobility for its fewer CO2 emissions, which has caught the attention of car owners and enthusiasts. HEVs have self-charging and fuel-efficient mechanisms that allow them to operate without generating too much CO2 and pollutants. The battery is charged through a regenerative braking system, which means it stores the energy lost from braking.

Leading auto manufacturing company Toyota also takes extra miles to be more sustainable. The company collects used HEV batteries for HEV vehicles and other purposes such as extracting rare materials to reuse them. In addition, Toyota’s Nickel batteries are 100% recyclable.

Save on Fuel Expense

Its innovative fuel-efficient and eco-friendly mechanisms give the impression that HEVs are more expensive than regular cars. This is not the case in the long run. HEVs switch from its electric motor  to the gasoline engine automatically only when necessary. This prevents you from having to refill your tank as frequently as your gas would last longer.

With this, HEV owners can, in fact, help save the environment and save up more from fuel expenses, especially with the uncontrolled oil price hikes.

PSBank and TMP paves the way for financial and environmental sustainability with the Say Hi To Hybrid Auto Loan promo. Aside from lower rates, the promo offers 1-year FREE comprehensive insurance for any of the two Toyota models.

This partnership is our way of staying true to our promise of Simple Lang, Maasahan and of providing reliable and sustainable products that are tailored to meet our customers’ needs. In this case, we are paving the way to financial and environmental sustainability,” said PSBank Senior Vice President and Marketing Division Head Emmanuel A. Tuazon.

This partnership with PSBank is important for us at Toyota because it helps us continue spreading awareness on the benefits of HEVs, and make the shift easier and more convenient. We hope that through this initiative, we can lead FIlipinos to a more exciting future of more electrified vehicles,” said TMP Assistant Vice President of Marketing Services Elvin Luciano.

Individuals who are considering a more eco-conscious ride can avail of the Say Hi To Hybrid Auto Loan promo until August 30, 2022. Apply through the PSBank website’s online loan application facility or go to the nearest PSBank branch. After accomplishing and submitting the application form, clients will receive a credit decision within 24 hours.

Naeomie Patrice and Naeomie Ashley (BIGO ID: NcTwins)shy and reserved twins from a small municipality in Bulacan, discovered and unlocked their talents and potential through Bigo Live.

“We were a bit hesitant to start streaming since we naturally keep to ourselves. But our cousin encouraged us to try and explore it as she feels our personalities and charisma will resonate with audiences,” Patrice said.

“When our cousin first recommended Bigo Live to us, we declined as we were shy and reserved. After some thinking, we decided to use Bigo Live as a platform to practice our hosting skills. What happened next was beyond our imagination,” Ashley added.

NcTwins Naeomie Patrice and Naeomie take charge of future careers through Bigo Live.

Breaking through on Bigo Live

When Patrice and Ashley started livestreaming, they were doubtful of themselves and anxious about how people would react to their livestreams. They were especially afraid of the reactions of naysayers.

The twins overcame their self-doubts and fears through the support and encouragement of their parents and the Bigo Live community. “We are lucky to have supportive parents and a group of loving livestreamers within the Bigo Live community. Although it is a virtual community, their support was a big factor to our success,” the twins said.

Through the Bigo Live community, Patrice and Ashley found their place or niche on the virtual platform, hone their skills and talents, and realize their childhood dream. The twins added, “Bigo Live did not only provide us with a platform to share ourselves and connect with others. Bigo Live empowered us to pursue our dreams.”

Everything You Need to Know About the New 5PM Habit with NEW Safeguard MAX Pinabango

Once upon a time, staying indoors was the norm. Now, however, with the decrease of alert level restrictions since the start of the year, Filipinos’ lives are slowly getting back to how it was before 2020.  Employees are now returning to office and even the kids are officially returning to face-to-face schooling in August. Parents and relatives staying in are usually met with a surprise when they kiss, smell and hug their loved ones at the end of the day!

#BacteryASIM Alert

With these increased outdoor activities, however, comes increased exposure to germs and bacteria. (Yuck!) As loved ones go about their day outside, bacteria accumulate and build up on their skin and increase in number. By the time 5pm strikes, they are already sweaty, sticky, stinky, and suffering from what we call, “BacteryASIM.”

BacteryASIM is behind the sour body odor caused by bacteria accumulated throughout the day. It is the worst enemy of moms, notorious for getting in the way of gigil hugs and family bonding moments at the end of the day.

Good thing Pinoy Moms have caught up to the new hygiene trend that is safeguarding families from BacteryASIM.

The New 5PM Trend

For the past weeks, at exactly five o’clock in the afternoon, moms on social media have been stopping what they are doing and dropping everything to do the #5PMBacteryASIMCheck with their family.

It’s a simple pass-or-fail sniff check originally designed to see if family members are still smelling fresh after a long day. But the test has also quickly become an easy way for moms to check if their loved ones are using Safeguard MAX Pinabango.

“If mabango pa rin sila after 5pm, alam na this—nag-Safeguard Max Pinabango ‘yan,” said one mom.

Korean superstar Seo In Guk gave fans a treat with his newest album – LOVE&LOVE

There’s been a lot of buzz lately around singer and actor Seo In Guk, and we can see why. The South Korean superstar recently gave fans a treat with his newest album – LOVE&LOVE – his first solo release in five years!

The first song on the single album is My Love, a heartfelt R&B track that features singer-songwriter and rapper Ravi. The song evokes feelings of longing and caring deeply for another person. In Guk shared that he made the song to deliver a message of cheering up someone who’s going through a tough time. “I felt that with track, I could deliver a small cheer up [even] in a sad way. [It’s my way of] trying to touch their hearts,” he said.

Capturing Filipino hearts

If anything, In Guk has definitely touched the hearts of countless Filipino fans. This includes local actress and singer Kristel Fulgar. She recently got the opportunity to have a one-on-one interview with In Guk, and even got to converse with him in Korean!

Kristel Fulgar posted this photo with Seo In Guk on her Facebook page

“I got to interview Seo In Guk, the person who got me into Korean culture and inspired me to learn hangul [the Korean alphabet]. This was an opportunity of a lifetime and I’m thankful to NYMA and Warner for this,” she said. Kristel even posted about the interview on social media. The interview was also recently launched on KrisTells Vlogs. (WATCH HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks9XKNxvA5k )

Other fans who wanted to know their idol more also had the chance to ask questions through Warner Music Philippines. Here are some of them, along with In Guk’s answers:

Tere: How are you feeling now that you're back as a singer with a physical album and also a new drama? I actually waited for your new song! We can't wait to hear you sing it live in a fan meet.

In Guk: I’m so happy to have the album and the drama come out together, and I’m seeing a lot of positive feedback from the fans about the album and the drama so I feel like I’m flying in the sky right now. If I ever get the opportunity to do a fan meeting in the Philippines, I’ll definitely join. I can’t wait to meet all of you over there!

Maiker: Congratulations on your successful comeback. How are you feeling these days? Do you feel like writing more songs for a full-length album?

In Guk: I can’t wait to get the opportunity to release a full album. I’ve produced a lot of tracks for it, but because of the timing and all the [different] situations, I’m trying to see the best timing [for its release]. And yes, I would love to have a full album out.

Aili: Will you consider covering/singing a Tagalog song? And will there be a chance for you to have a fan meeting in the Philippines?

In Guk: I would love to try to cover a Tagalog song. And yes, I will try my best to get the opportunity to do a fan meeting in the Philippines as well.

In Guk’s plans for the future

If there’s one thing that In Guk clearly expressed, it’s how grateful he is for his fans. He even shared how he didn’t expect so many people to be waiting for his album release, and the realization makes him want to work harder. He also talked about not being able to choose between acting and singing, which means fans can expect him to be doing more of both!

As for whether or not he’s looking to visit the country any time soon, he has a hopeful answer for all his Filipino fans.

“I would love to have a fan meeting with the Filipino fans. And also, personally, I would love to visit the Philippines and take a vacation over there,” he said.

For now, you can catch In Guk in his ongoing K-drama “Cafe Minamdang,” sing along to his album “LOVE&LOVE,” and wait in anticipation for his upcoming movie “Project Wolf Hunting.”
