TECNO launches Shot On CAMON Contest 2026 with Lonely Planet in the Philippines

TECNO, the AI-driven innovative technology brand, and Lonely Planet, the globally recognized travel guidance leader, today jointly announced the co-hosted Shot On CAMON Contest 2026, the third edition of TECNO's annual global photography competition. Rooted in a shared spirit of exploration and expression, the collaboration expands the contest beyond technology alone to celebrate the people, places and stories behind every image. Through expert co-judging, co-branded content, and photo-essay-style storytelling, TECNO and Lonely Planet aim to inspire users around the world to see more, feel more and tell richer visual stories. Three Lonely Planet photographers will contribute original imagery shot on the CAMON 50 Series, while one Lonely Planet photographer will serve on the final-round jury panel alongside TECNO’s imaging team.

“Great photos are not just about equipment – they are about how deeply the photographer can immerse themselves in a destination,” said Melissa Killian, Vice President of Integrated Marketing at Lonely Planet. “TECNO’s technology makes that immersion easier, helping users stay present, observe more closely and capture meaningful moments as they happen. We are excited to partner on Shot On CAMON Contest 2026 and look forward to seeing how photographers around the world bring their journeys to life.”

Under the theme “Seeing is Believing,” this year's contest runs from May 15 to October 11, 2026, inviting smartphone photographers worldwide to capture real, beautiful and unrepeatable moments using the TECNO CAMON 50 Series. In a year increasingly shaped by AI, the theme is TECNO’s call to celebrate the authenticity of real life through photography, honoring diverse skin tones, fleeting emotions, and real-world observations. Even the contest’s AI category starts with a real photograph, encouraging users to start from authentic observation and personal expression.

TECNO Philippines Welcomes Kelvinmarkulit as CAMON Photography Ambassador
To further ignite local passion for authentic mobile photography, TECNO Philippines has appointed Kelvinmarkulit  – a highly respected Filipino visual storyteller known for his raw, unfiltered depictions of everyday Filipino life – as the official CAMON Photography Ambassador for the Philippine leg of the contest. Kelvin will play a multi-faceted role: from co-creating a call-out video that rallies Filipino creators to join the competition, to serving as a regional judge in selecting the country's most compelling entries, and joining the exclusive winner's journey. His partnership with TECNO goes beyond a celebrity endorsement; it is a powerful signal to Filipino photography enthusiasts that local stories, captured with honesty and heart, can stand on a global stage. Kelvin’s own journey – from shooting candid street moments to earning international recognition – inspires a new generation to believe that with observation, emotion, and the right tool, anyone can transform the ordinary into the unforgettable.

Five Creative Categories That Celebrate New Ways of Seeing

The five categories of Shot On CAMON Contest 2026 are designed to inspire different ways of seeing, encouraging participants to capture real moments, emotions and perspectives from everyday life and travel.

• Faces·Unfiltered – This category celebrates authentic portraits that reflect people as they really are, capturing diverse skin tones and individuality in a quiet close-up, a candid street portrait, or a moment shared between friends.
• Night·Unveiled – This category invites participants to capture the atmosphere, mystery and emotion that emerge after dark, from neon-lit streets and reflections after rain to still moonlit scenes and late-night city life.
• Culture·Unscripted – This category focuses on capturing the rhythm of a place as it naturally unfolds, whether through festivals, crafts, food moments or unplanned interactions between people.
• Snapshot·Unspotted (Telephoto Special) – Participants are invited to capture distant details that reveal something surprising, intimate or easily overlooked, from textures on far-off peaks to a fleeting expression within a crowd.
• AI·Unimagined (AI Gallery Special) – First capture a real-world photo with a TECNO phone, then transform it into an artistic style using TECNO’s AI Gallery. Both the original photograph and the AI-styled image must be submitted together. This category is designed to explore how AI can extend creative expression while keeping real-world photography as the starting point.

“‘Seeing is Believing’ is both a creative brief for our contestants and a reminder that the most powerful images begin with real life,” said Jack Guo, General Manager of TECNO. “Through Shot On CAMON Contest 2026, we hope to inspire users around the world to observe more closely, express themselves more freely and celebrate the beauty of authentic moments through photography.”

Awards, Honors and How to Enter

To recognize exceptional creativity, Shot On CAMON Contest 2026 will reward outstanding work across its major award tiers with both cash prizes and exclusive travel prizes sponsored by Lonely Planet. Selected winners will embark on a curated journey to explore the wonders —  to experience is to believe, and only by witnessing can miracles truly be seen.

As rewards for the competition, one outstanding photographer will be awarded the TECNO Photography Master prize ($8,000). Additionally, there will be five winners for the Gold Prize ($3,000), five winners for the Silver Prize ($2,000), and five winners for the Bronze Prize ($1,000). Ten participants will also be selected as a TECNO Friend and will receive a CAMON 50 Series Smartphone. As an exclusive bonus, the TECNO Photography Master and the five Gold Prize winners will also be invited to a bespoke trip to the Philippines.

Special "Filipino Special Award" – Exclusive for Philippine Participants
In addition to the global prizes, TECNO Philippines is introducing the Filipino Special Award to recognize and reward local creative talent. Philippine users may submit either images (standard entry) or videos (via Instagram/Facebook Reels, and TikTok). While video submissions are considered informal entries and are not eligible for global awards, they will automatically be considered for the Filipino Special Award. A total of six additional winners will be chosen as CAMON Photography Endorsers in Philippines, each receiving a Lonely Planet Bespoke Trip and a CAMON 50 Series Smartphone. The breakdown is as follows: five winners from image submissions (across any of the five contest categories) and one winner from video submissions. This special award underscores TECNO Philippines' commitment to celebrating homegrown visual storytellers, whether they freeze a moment in time or bring it to life through motion.

PalawanPay Champions Active Lifestyle and Community Impact Through RUNRIO, UP OASD Partnership

The Palawan Group of Companies has officially announced the launch of the PalawanPay Trilogy Marathon 2026, a three-leg race series aimed at promoting health, wellness, and community engagement at a larger scale. The initiative is launched in partnership with RUNRIO and the UP Office of Athletics and Sports Development (UP OASD), bringing together key institutions that share a vision of encouraging active lifestyles and creating meaningful social impact. Proceeds of the PalawanPay Marathon Trilogy will be used to purchase fully-equipped ambulances in Aklan and South Cotobato.

The marathon series will be staged across three major locations in the country, namely Manila, Cebu, and Palawan, with each leg serving as a platform to engage communities and promote inclusivity through sport. The Manila leg is set to take place on August 9, 2026 at UP Diliman and will feature 1KM, 3KM, 5KM, 10KM, and 16KM race categories designed for beginners, casual runners, and experienced participants. This will be followed by the Cebu leg on September 27, 2026 in Mandaue City, which will include additional distances such as the 21 km half-marathon to further challenge participants. The trilogy will culminate in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, on October 18, 2026, where the complete set of race categories, including the 42KM full marathon, will be offered as the series' highlight.

Lillian Castro-Selda, Palawan Group Chief Financial Officer, highlighted the importance of collaboration and shared values in bringing the initiative to life: “At Palawan Group, we believe that forging meaningful partnerships is essential in helping us reach more people and create a deeper, more lasting impact. Collaborations like this allow us to extend our services, strengthen our communities, and bring our mission closer to our kababayans, whether they live in bustling cities or in remote barrios. This partnership with RunRio and the UP-OASD is born out of a shared goal: to encourage more Filipinos to be active, healthy, and well-rounded.”

The PalawanPay Trilogy Marathon promotes fitness while turning every run into meaningful community impact.

Coach Rio De La Cruz from RUNRIO also expressed support for the partnership. He shared that proceeds from the registration will be used to purchase ambulances for partner community hospitals, helping ensure that emergency assistance arrives faster when it is needed most. He added that this is the initiative's main objective, which is why they are very excited about the partnership with UP OASD.

Beyond promoting physical fitness, the PalawanPay Trilogy Marathon continues to position itself as a purpose-driven initiative that transforms participation into meaningful community impact. Previous runs have demonstrated how collective effort can support important causes, including healthcare initiatives in underserved areas. Among these is the funding of a fully equipped ambulance for the El NidoCommunity Hospital, reflecting how each step taken by participants contributes to a larger goal

Last year’s PalawanPay Marathon resulted to a fully-equipped ambulance which was donated to the El Nido Community Hospital

Palawan Group Chief Human Resources Officer Korina Castro-Fernando shared that the PalawanPay Marathon Trilogy goes beyond health and wellness by bringing communities together and turning every kilometer into meaningful impact.

Korina Castro-Fernando, Palawan Group Chief Human Resources Officer, emphasized the deeper mission behind the initiative and the organization’s commitment to service: “It brings me great pride and joy to be part of this meaningful partnership for the PalawanPay Marathon Trilogy. At the heart of what we do is a deep commitment to people and community. This is more than just promoting health and wellness; it is about coming together to create real, lasting impact. It is a reminder that every step we take, every kilometer we run, can make a difference in someone else’s life.”

The PalawanPay Trilogy Marathon 2026 unites communities through fitness and purpose, encouraging runners of all levels to take part in an event that champions wellness and meaningful social impact.

With its expansion across Manila, Cebu, and Palawan, the PalawanPay Trilogy Marathon 2026 goes beyond a race series, becoming a nationwide effort that brings people together through health, wellness, and community involvement. It creates a space where runners of all levels can participate, challenge themselves, and, at the same time, contribute to a greater purpose that benefits communities. Each step taken in the marathon reflects a commitment to creating positive impact, whether through promoting an active lifestyle or supporting meaningful causes on the ground.

Ever Bilena brings Filipina beauty to the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 runway

In a powerful celebration of modern Filipina beauty, Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc., the Official Color Cosmetics Partner of Miss Universe Philippines 2026, unveiled the EB Atelier: A Showcase of Filipina Beauty at the Bamberton Center in Arca South, Taguig.

The exclusive runway event brought together 50 official candidates of Miss Universe Philippines 2026 in a striking display of confidence, individuality, and artistry—each embodying Ever Bilena’s enduring message: #ForEveryBeauty.

(L-R) Miss Universe Philippines La Union Bea Millan-Windorski;  Taguig City Bella Ysmael; Cebu Province Nicole Borromeo, Baguio City Roxie Baeyens; and Cebu City Apriel Smith

Hosted by Gayle Resubal, the evening transformed the runway into a visual canvas, with candidates dressed in rich burgundy ensembles and complemented by signature Ever Bilena looks. The showcase highlighted not only beauty, but the strength, diversity, and evolving identity of the Filipina.

The event also marked a milestone collaboration between two iconic institutions—Ever Bilena, a pioneer in Philippine cosmetics, and Miss Universe Philippines, the country’s premier platform for empowered Filipina representation on the global stage.

(L-R) TV5 chief data analyst Edson Guido, Ever Bilena chief sales and marketing Officer Denice Sy, Petalier founder and creative director Diane Yap, and physician Dr. Henry Costa

A distinguished panel of judges

Guiding the selection of standout candidates was a distinguished panel of judges composed of leaders across industries. The panel included data analytics expert and TV5 chief data analyst Edson Guido, internationally recognized physician Dr. Henry Costa, Petalier founder and creative director Diane Yap, and Ever Bilena’s chief sales and marketing Officer Denice Sy.

Each judge evaluated the candidates based on their runway presence, ability to express individuality through beauty, and how they embodied Ever Bilena’s inclusive philosophy of celebrating beauty in all its forms.

Celebrating the standouts: Miss Ever Bilena Top 5

Following a rigorous evaluation, five exceptional candidates were recognized as recipients of the Miss Ever Bilena Cosmetics Special Award during the preliminary events leading up to coronation night.

The Top 5 finalists are: Roxie Baeyens (Baguio City), Apriel Smith (Cebu City), Nicole Borromeo (Cebu Province), Bea Millan-Windorski (La Union) and Bella Ysmael (Taguig City).

Each finalist received Php 10,000 in cash and Php 20,000 worth of Ever Bilena products, celebrating their embodiment of the brand’s values: confidence, inclusivity, and authenticity.

One among them will ultimately be crowned Miss Ever Bilena 2026 at the grand coronation night.

A celebration beyond the runway

The EB Atelier event was more than a fashion showcase—it was a continuation of Ever Bilena’s commitment to making beauty empowering and meaningful.

Earlier in the season, candidates participated in a Women’s Month activation titled “From the Stages to the Streets,” where they connected with everyday Filipinas through surprise-and-delight moments at Ayala Malls Arca South—bridging the gap between pageantry and real-world impact.

The evening also highlighted the Bamberton Center as Ever Bilena’s newest landmark space, symbolizing the company’s continued growth and vision for the future of Filipino beauty.

Enhancing the experience were event partners including Petalier, which brought its signature floral artistry to the venue, and Tomoro Coffee, which provided premium brews for guests throughout the evening.

Championing Filipina beauty on the global stage

As the Official Color Cosmetics Partner of Miss Universe Philippines 2026, Ever Bilena continues to champion the belief that world-class beauty is not defined by one standard—but celebrated in all forms.

Through initiatives like the EB Atelier, the brand reinforces its role in shaping a more inclusive, empowered, and globally competitive representation of Filipina beauty.

How Moms Are Using Side Hustles to Build Stronger Futures for Their Families

This month, modern Filipino moms are proving that motherhood and entrepreneurship can thrive hand in hand. Across the country, more mothers are stepping beyond traditional roles and embracing life as “mompreneurs,” building businesses from home, pursuing their passions, and reshaping the future of their families through digital innovation.

Through communities like PLDT Home’s Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH), the modern “side hustle” has evolved into something far more powerful: a tech-enabled lifeline helping families navigate an increasingly unpredictable world.

For many mompreneurs, the journey began with either necessity or a spark of inspiration, a homemade chili garlic recipe, curated thrift finds, bespoke footwear, or personalized digital art. Some were driven by the economic uncertainty brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially after losing jobs or sources of income. What started as small ventures eventually became sustainable businesses that now support entire households and communities.

Ayn Stephanie Buyco Angeles, founder of HERS by Godfather and Diskarteng Malikhain awardee at Gawad Madiskarte 2023.

“I had just resigned from my corporate job and I had an 8-month-old baby to take care of. It was challenging at first because running a business means thinking about marketing strategies, finances, and product development 24/7. That’s on top of my responsibilities as a mom. It was daunting at first, but I was able to press on,” says Ayn Stephanie Buyco Angeles, founder of Marikina-based bespoke footwear brand HERS by Godfather.

May Martin-Pimentel, founder of Momsatwork and Diskarteng Digital awardee at Gawad Madiskarte 2023.

“My husband and I got laid off in Dubai, so we decided to return to the Philippines to start anew. When I started Momsatwork, all I could think of was that I had to succeed for my family. I wanted other moms who had the same struggles as me to find a support system through MomsatWork. I wanted to make an empowering and educational platform that will provide opportunities for moms like me,” echoes May Martin-Pimentel, founder of consultation firm Momsatwork.

Faced with changing realities, mothers like Angeles and Pimentel chose to adapt, rebuild, and take charge of their futures. With the support of their loved ones and the sisterhood they found through PLDT Home’s MMPH community, they learned how to scale their businesses and to transform homegrown ideas into thriving enterprises.

The Power of an Uninterrupted Connection

In today’s digital-first economy, a mompreneur’s most valuable tool goes beyond creativity and determination — it is reliable internet connectivity.

From managing online orders and hosting livestreams to attending upskilling webinars and engaging customers on social media, a stable internet has become essential to sustaining and growing their businesses.

PLDT Home continues to empower Filipino moms by providing the connectivity they need to pursue opportunities online. Through high-speed and reliable internet, mompreneurs can reach customers across the Philippines and even overseas which allows their businesses to grow beyond the limits of geography.

The rise of the “Madiskarte Mom” reflects how economic empowerment can begin at home. With the right tools, support systems, and opportunities, mothers are redefining what is possible for the modern Filipino family. More than building businesses, they are building confidence, purpose, and a lasting digital legacy for future generations.

Joelle Dianne Vinegas, founder of Golden Pots Agriculture and DiskartengMay-Puso awardee at Gawad Madiskarte 2023.

“More than entrepreneurial success, Madiskarte Moms PH renewed my purpose and confidence. I learned that motherhood does not mean the end of personal goals. It should, in fact, fuel you to aspire higher,” says Joelle Dianne Vinegas, founder of garden shop Golden Pots Agriculture.

This Mother’s Day, PLDT Home celebrates the women who turned challenges into opportunities and passion into purpose. They are the new architects of the family economy — proving that with heart, determination, and meaningful connection, a side hustle can truly change lives and uplift communities.
