The first flagship store Forever 21 at SM Megamall got the new look.




It was 4 years ago, when I trooped  down  Forever 21's first flagship store at SM Megamall. I lined up for 5 hours just to get a peek inside and bought my first F21 tops and jeans. It was an amazing and  exhilarating experience, with all the mix crowd, everyone was excited then. Now comes the newly revamped Forever 21, the store was launched last September 25, 2014, the new interior has the youthful vibe feel and elegant aesthetic to the shoppers.  The clean and sleek slated interiors explain why it still remain the number one fashion store in the country.

AXN Owned the Night with Day-and-Date Premieres of “The Voice” Season 7 and “The Blacklist” Season 2



AXN, Asia’s home of thrilling entertainment, premiered the latest seasons of hit series “The Voice” and “The Blacklist” to top ratings, winning the night of September 23 among English general entertainment (GE) channels across Southeast Asia.

Collectively in the markets of Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, the seventh season of “The Voice” and the second season of “The Blacklist” both rated as the No.1 show across all English GE channels in their time slots among pay-TV audiences.

In Malaysia, “The Voice” season 7 won the timeslot among approximately 70 rated English language channels among pay-TV audiences 4 – 54. In addition, “The Blacklist” season 2 was the top rated show for individuals from high income households.

In Singapore, “The Voice” season 7 was the highest rated program among rated English language cable channels for all pay-TV audiences in its timeslot. “The Blacklist” Season 2 proved to be spot on with AXN’s target audience of professionals, managers, executives and businessmen (PMEB), as it was their top rated show of the day across all 73 rated channels on StarHub TV.





In the Philippines, “The Voice” also led the English GE genre for all pay-TV viewers in its timeslot; while “The Blacklist” was the top show in its timeslot among pay-TV audiences ages 35 – 44.

“With two of TV’s most-anticipated returning shows airing on AXN, it was important for us to bring The Voice’ and ‘The Blacklist’ to our audience in line with the US, as well as give it a strong marketing push. Airing on Tuesdays at 8.05pm first and exclusively on AXN, “The Voice”, which won its second consecutive Emmy for “Outstanding Reality-Competition Program”, features Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams as celebrity musician coaches for the first time. They join Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in search of America’s next Voice.

In promotion of the series, AXN is sending the iconic red chair of “The Voice” coaches on tour to some of Singapore and Malaysia’s busiest locations, where fans can get photo opportunities and engage with the accompanying games and performances. A “The Voice” branded train is also bringing the show closer to commuters in Singapore.

Airing on Tuesdays at 10pm, “The Blacklist” returns to follow the exploits of James Spader’s (“Boston Legal”) criminal mastermind Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington who turned himself in and is working with the FBI to eradicate his ‘blacklist’ of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists, under the condition that he works only with rookie FBI agent Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Keen (Megan Boone, “Law & Order: Los Angeles”).



Lookalikes of ‘Red’ Reddington are taking to the streets of Singapore and Malaysia to engage with AXN viewers and for photo opportunities to drive buzz and sharing on social media platforms.

BEFORE “THE CONJURING” THERE WAS “ANNABELLE”



This is probably the most terrifying movie that will be shown this October. The above scene scared the hell out of me.  I cant wait to watch.

Annabelle, the infamous doll at the center of one of paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren’s most profiled cases, made her terrifying screen debut in James Wan’s box office sensation “The Conjuring.” Even while shooting the film, Wan and producer Peter Safran were already entertaining the idea that the not-so-innocent doll needed an entire movie of her own.

Wan, who has always been fascinated with the Annabelle case, says, “We know she’s so bad that, even after all this time, she still has to be kept locked up ...but, how did she get that way?”
Safran adds, “How does something so charming, so sweet, become a conduit for pure evil and destruction?”

Now, New Line Cinema’s supernatural thriller “Annabelle” answers those questions by tracing where it all began for the terrifying doll.



Wan and Safran approached Wan’s longtime director of photography, John R. Leonetti, to direct the film. “I have been very fortunate to have had John there right by my side, shooting on most of my films, so it was a natural progression for John to direct ‘Annabelle,’” Wan attests. “His visual style, his passion for this story and his innate ability to connect with cast and crew was the total package and we were very fortunate to have him on this film.”

Leonetti, who crafted chilling shots for Wan on “The Conjuring” and “Insidious” films, among others, was just as intrigued with the sinister doll’s beginnings and translating that to the screen, this time as director.

“I’m a huge horror fan,” says Leonetti. “I also love collaborating with James and Peter and am thrilled they had faith in me to take the helm. I couldn’t wait to bring all that I’ve experienced shooting with James, who is the master of scares, and put it into this project.”
Safran notes, “John and James have worked together so extensively they really have a mind meld going, and the three of us worked so closely on ‘The Conjuring’ that there’s a certain trust among us as a creative team. They’re tremendous partners in the process.”



Leonetti immediately responded to screenwriter Gary Dauberman’s script positing how the doll had turned devious. “Gary’s take on how this might have all started was great; the story was suspenseful and had such a cool psychological layer,” he comments.

Dauberman had been eager to work with the team that had frightened him so intensely with the previous film. “I couldn’t wait to play in this playground with these guys,” he offers. “Everybody loves a good scare, and that was our number one goal.”
Leonetti adds, “Annabelle is an incredible way to facilitate fright because she’s real, and nothing is scarier than that.”

“Everyone’s had a toy that they’ve thought was alive at night,” says Annabelle Wallis, who stars in the film as an expectant stay-at-home wife who also happens to collect dolls. “It definitely resonated with me and I think will resonate with a lot of other people too.”

Ward Horton stars opposite Wallis. The story also made a big impression on him. “I loved the script,” he offers. “It rattled me to the core at the same time that it made me care about the characters.”
Alfre Woodard had never done a supernatural thriller, but “thought it would be fun. To tell you the truth this film really disturbed me because it creates a very convincing reality where truly alarming paranormal events take place.”

Leonetti notes, “There are realms beyond our senses we can’t comprehend and there are entities we can’t fathom. The mythology of demonology will always fascinate people—and mess with their heads…especially a possessed doll that is beautiful and creepy all at the same time. We had a lot of fun with that.”

Opening across the Philippines on October 01, 2014, “Annabelle” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.

Gotham premieres on Sept 25 at WarnerTV


Those who are fanatics of DC Comics Batman, will come to love the series and the city that Batman lives which is Gotham and all the villains and characters in the story. Remember Penguin? you will see a young Penguin here plays by Robin Lord Taylor, how and where his bad character emerged from. Gotham will start anew, long before Batman, how the story revolves around Gotham crime ridden streets.  The first episode was presented to the media on Sept 23, 2014 at Fully Booked, BGC. It was thrilling and suspenseful,  even the comics reader will come to appreciate the series. I cant wait for the character of Joker, Poison Ivy, Fish, Catwoman and the fashionable Barbara Gordon. 




Gotham, an origins story of DC Comics super-villains and vigilantes, will premiere in the Philippines on September 25, 9pm  at WarnerTV. This story will reveal an entirely new chapter that’s never been told – before Batman, there was Gotham.

From executive producer/ writer Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome), this one-hour drama follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the genesis of one of the popular superheroes of our time.

With a reputation synonymous with law and order, Commissioner James Gordon (Ben McKenzie of The O.C. fame) is one of the crime world's greatest foes. Everyone knows the name. But what is known of Gordon's rise from rookie detective to police commissioner? And what did it take to navigate the layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world's most iconic villains?



The crime drama follows Gordon's turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City police department, it also focuses on the characters who will become DC Comics' most renowned and enduring villains, including a teenaged Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman (Camren Bicondova) and Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). The early story arc will focus on The Penguin. Also making its debut in the criminal roster is notorious gang boss Fish Mooney, played by popular actress, Jada Pinkett-Smith.

Gerry's launches 69th branch at Fisher Mall

The Filipino restaurant Gerry’s recently refashioned its new branches to a homier, more family-oriented outlet, dropping the word “Grill” from its name.

 Gerry’s continues to expand with the opening of its 69th branch at the second floor level of Fisher Mall along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City.

It is set to open in four more locations before end of 2014: SM Sta. Mesa, Robinson’s Antipolo, Robinson’s Las Pinas and Aseana in Paranaque City, along with the newly-renovated branch at Ali Mall at the Araneta Center in Quezon City.

“The opening of more Gerry’s branches comes with the challenge of ensuring that we give our customers only the best quality food and excellent service. Gerry’s also recently reopened at the ground floor of Robinson’s Tacloban along Tabuan National Highway nearly a year after the province was struck by Typhoon Yolanda; and in Tuguegarao, Cagayan.

Gerry's Group of companies recently introduced a new restaurant concept called Sweet Chili Thai Fish and Noodles Restaurant also located at the upper ground floor level of Fisher Mall.

The restaurant’s menu includes Thai favorites Tom Yum, Chicken Pandan and Pad Thai among others.

Two years ago, Gerry’s introduced Kusina ng Gerry’s a do-it-yourself, fast-casual restaurant which offers meals as low as Php120.

UNDER ARMOUR UNVEILS NEWEST CHAPTER OF I WILL WHAT I WANT CAMPAIGN FEATURING GISELE BÜNDCHEN






Gisele joins Under Armour’s Women of Will and helps define the spirit of the brand’s most expansive women’s marketing campaign to-date

 Under Armour (NYSE:UA) unveiled the newest chapter of I WILL WHAT I WANT featuring Gisele Bündchen. Gisele makes her debut for the brand in a bold film and interactive digital experience highlighting her athleticism and unwavering dedication under pressure. The campaign continues to celebrate the inner and outer strength of women and highlights the brand’s commitment to designing innovative products for both female athletes and athletic females.

Since its debut in July with a film featuring American Ballet Theatre soloist Misty Copeland, the I WILL WHAT I WANT campaign has championed stories of women from various athletic backgrounds who have broken barriers to climb to the top of their respective fields. A Song of Praise Music Festival is a venue to provide opportunities for composers and interpreters, this is where they hone their musical talent with The Creator as their inspiration.A Song of Music Festival held its presscon on Sept. 22, 2014 at SumoSam Gateway Mall, QC.  Hosted by one of the judge  Doktor Musiko himself Mon del Rosario, told the media that he had a time choosing the finalists, as all the entries were great and beautifully interpreted as well. He presented the composers and interpreters to the media and their entries genre.






From Reggae to Rock, from Ballads to ethnic, the A Song of Praise Music Festival or ASOP promises to be the most diverse singing-songwriting competition on Philippine television.

A brainchild of Mr. Public Service himself, Kuya Daniel Razon, ASOP has been a venue not only for professional songwriters but also for aspiring and budding composers who have their own stories to tell through their songs and musical talents showcased year round.

ASOP is the first-ever song writing competition on Philippine television that aims to bring back to the lives of people what seems to be lost and forgotten – giving thanks and glory to The Creator amidst the rat race, fear and violence humans are faced with nowadays -— a mark that most songwriting competitions do not possess.

Now in its third year, ASOP has produced three albums, each featuring twelve originally composed praise songs that emerged victorious in each of the twelve months from September to August interpreted by the most sought-after artists and big names in the local music scene. The show is hosted by Richard Reynoso and Toni Rose Gayda, and airs every Sundays, 7 p.m. on UNTV.

Aside from cash prizes to the weekly and monthly winners, the program gives all contestants free songwriting tips from authorities in the field of music.

Battle of the Best

Open to all amateur and professional songwriters, ASOP searches for the best songs of praise for a whole year, amounting to 12 song entries for the Grand Finals.

Entries are performed onstage and are judged by a panel of acclaimed singers and songwriters such as Doctor Musiko himself, Mon Del Rosario.

Weekly winners go on to the monthly eliminations where those chosen proceed to the Grand Finals for a chance to win PHP 500,000 for the Grand Prize. Runners-up receive prizes exceeding PHP 100,000 each and non-winners are given plaques and consolation prizes.

This year’s grand finals will be held tonight September 23, 2014, Tuesday, 7 PM at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.





Competing for this year’s best song will be the twelve monthly winners of the only weekly praise songwriting competition in Philippine TV. Performing on that uplifting night of heavenly music will be some of the country’s top singing sensations as interpreters i.e. OPM Icons Rachel Alejandro, Bayang Barrios, Gail Blanco & Bo Cerrudo, famous band vocalists Mcoy Fundales (Kenyo/Orange & Lemon), Jek Manuel (I-Axe), Jason Fernandez (Rivermaya) & Ava Olivia Santos (Freestyle), singing champions Beverly Caimen (VVCOPA 2013 Senior Grand Champion), Shanne Velasco (Ka-Voice ni Idol, lkaw at Echo 2013 grand winner) and vocal group members Daryl Ong (Voices of 5), Walton Cerrudo (Voices of 5) and new promising artist Jessa Mae Gabon.
