My Skin-care Products That Actually Worth Using



I have been on the lookout for a good skincare product for a decade now. My routine is just simple. DAY- Soap, Day moisturizer, Sunscreen,  NIGHT- mask, Essence/ Serum.

This year, I’m trying to create an evening skin-care routine that I can stick to. Hopefully.



I have been to drugstore and high end skincare. Believe me, I had my fair share of road testing products. I have yet to try LaMer or La Prairie when I have the budget for those hahaha. Right now, Im saving up for an incoming travel. Its just good that I have bought Murad Age Reform line which I think is good for 4 months of everyday use alternating with Sunday Riley samplers.




I usually ran out of skincare from April to May. That's why I always buy 2 different products on rotation, to rest my skin from retinol.

From Kiehls, Clarins, Murad, Estee Lauder, Dr.Perricone, FRESH, Algenist, Occitanne and Sunday Riley. I usually rotate on these products. They didnt cause me pimples which is good and somehow soften my wrinkles. Of course I always have my anti aging facials monthly to help with everything. BTW, I am 52 years old.



Before buying my skincare. It should have good reviews and testimonials from Makeup Alley or from top beauty vloggers like Jeffree Star.  He's been reviewing drugstore and high end products and advise what's really good on your skin accordingly.




This December, I bought a Murad product again on impulse. Its from the Age Reform Line,  the Rapid Collagen Infusion. It claims it "Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in 2 hours" .  It costs P4450+ at Rustans, Makati. I have been trying it for a week now. Let's see what it can do.




TIP:  Before buying on a regular size product, buy the sampler first or ask for a sampler from your SA. 

If youre travelling from Macau. Its good to buy your skincare from there. Its more affordable because its tax-free. I remember buying my  Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream With Super 7 Complex and save almost 1K for that product alone plus the SA gave me a handful of samplers.

Starbucks Philippines and the Philippine Food Bank Foundation uplift more communities through the FoodShare program



Since it first opened in the Philippines in 1997, Starbucks has donated unsold yet still fully edible pastries to non-government organizations (NGOs). This year, Starbucks aims to serve more communities with the help of the Philippine Food Bank Foundation (PFBF).



Just recently, Starbucks partnered with the PFBF to help a few Starbucks branches find partner NGOs and implement this FoodShare initiative. For their pilot run which lasted for 1 week, Starbucks and PFBF successfully delivered a total of 1,600 pastries to orphanages, school, and underserved communities near the six stores.



“To eat the products of Starbucks is something that these people could not have imagined. To everyone it is such a blessing. Thank you very much for sharing your products to us. God bless and we continue to pray for all the endeavors you are doing,” said Sr. Cherry Consimino from the Daughters of Virgin Mary Immaculate, one of the NGOs chosen to distribute the pastries.



"We decided to approach socially responsible food companies in the Philippines to allow us to distribute their soon-to-expire (SOTEX) but still very edible products to the malnourished and undernourished Filipinos belonging to the 21 percent of Filipino families who fall below the poverty line. We found them among squatter areas in urban districts, poor households in the rural areas, orphanages, children in public schools and feeding clinics run by both public and private agencies.  Since we started distributing these food items two years ago, we have reached around 20,000 beneficiaries, equal to the number of pieces donated by Starbucks so far from November 2019 onwards." said by Chairman Dr. Bernardo "Bernie" Villegas Foundation Header of PFBF.



With the success of their pilot run, Starbucks continues the partnership with the PFBF and has recently rolled out the initiative to 13 more stores in Southern Metro Manila including Las Piñas City, Muntinlupa City, and Parañaque City.

For years, we have been donating our unsold pastries to the communities near our branches and now we plan to extend our aid further with the help of other organizations who share the same values as ours” shared Noey Lopez, president of Starbucks Philippines

In a touching new Jollibee ad, the Muhlachs give us another heartwarming glimpse of their family life





 Being a celebrity comes with a multitude of “rewards,” including fame, fortune, and countless public milestones. But for celebrity parents Aga and Charlene Muhlach, there’s no greater joy than being able to give their best for the twins, Atasha and Andres.



In a heartwarming new commercial for Jollibee, former beauty queen and renowned actress-host Charlene professes that her “greatest joy” in life are her twin children, who had grown up relatively away from the limelight.

The message that Charlene addresses to her children in this newest Jollibee ad is almost verbatim of her Instagram post on the twin’s birthday, which, as of the commercial’s release, garnered over 50,000 likes. Danes Cheeseball: The Star of the Noche Buena Feast



Every New Year's Eve I make it a point to be with my kids, although now that they each have their own families, and one is even in the US, its becoming a bit more difficult to spend equal time with them and my grandchildren. It’s hard celebrating the holidays knowing that I can’t be with all of them like when they were young.






So I would adjust my schedule and for the most part spend the holidays rushing to their place only to find out that they aren’t there and I have to go home alone. It even came to a point that if I can’t be with any of them, I would just celebrate the holidays with my parents and any of my grandkids.  Last year, I spent it with my eldest grandchild Finn and we welcomed 2018 with some fireworks and a great food spread prepared by my Nanay.



Its funny how things have come full circle, instead of being the one to spend my holidays with my kids I’m the one who gets to spend it with my parents.



I guess time really changes a lot of things, and there’s nothing we can’t do anything about it. The only thing we can do is reminisce the memories and share some of the traditions we grew up with. During Noche Buena and Media Noche for instance, a holiday feast will never be complete without our favorite Pinoy dishes.

Since I was spending it with my parents this year, it was me who felt like a kid again as my Nanay was the one who prepared our family favorites—mechado, buko salad, adobo, with some malagkit like kutsinta and cassava cake and of course a big red Danes Cheeseball. It made her buko salad taste even better cutting it into cubes and mixing it with all the other ingredients. I also sliced some and made a simple cheese platter with grapes and crackers.



Every year, families all over the world gather to spend the holidays together because there’s nothing like the warmth of home.



While no holiday celebration would be complete without family reunions, this is the best time to introduce new and fun traditions to make this holiday season even more memorable than last year’s.
