LG SIGNATURE OLED and LG NanoCell TVs Deliver True-to-Life Viewing Experience

LG Electronics (LG) announced that its TVs are the first in the world to exceed the strict requirements established by the Consumer Technology Association to define the new generation of 8K Ultra HD products and services delivering four times more detail than 4K TV and 16 times more than HDTV.

The official industry 8K Ultra HD designation and logo were developed by the U.S.-based CTA to set a clear definition for retailers and consumers to help better identify products that meet key 8K Ultra HD requirements. LG’s Real 8K TVs, which will make their debut at CES 2020, are the first to exceed CTA’s specific requirements including those related to resolution, digital inputs, high dynamic range, upscaling, bit depth and measurement methodology.

The CTA based its 8K definition on the threshold specified by the International Committee for Display Metrology.* The measurement guidelines based on contrast modulation (CM) state that resolution must meet a 50 percent minimum CM threshold along with at least 33 million active pixels in order to qualify as 8K UHD. Other industry standard-setting bodies such as the International Organization for Standardization also use Contrast Modulation as the industry benchmark.

Starting in January 2020, every LG 8K TV will display CTA’s 8K UHD logo. New 2020 models build on LG’s leadership position as the only manufacturer offering Real 8K TVs in two categories – OLED (LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K) and LCD (LG 8K NanoCell TV) – all delivering CM values in the 90 percent range, while some other models in the industry remain in the low double digits.

Third-party testing by the global product testing and certification organization Intertek verified that the 75-inch LG NanoCell 8K TV far surpasses the CM measurement requirement set by ICDM, with the unit returning an impressive 90 percent CM horizontally and 91 percent CM vertically. Another leading international testing firm, VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker) reported nearly identical CM results.

“CTA is the consumer technology industry authority, and LG’s use of the CTA 8K UHD logo communicates a clear message to consumers that a Real 8K TV from LG will deliver the viewing experience they expect,” said Nam Ho-jun, senior vice president of R&D at LG’s Home Entertainment Company. “We expect LG’s 2020 8K TV lineup to set a new standard for the TV industry.”

Popeyes offers another mouthwatering treat as it brings its chicken goodness to Ali Mall Cubao

If you have seen Family Feud's recent  show that went viral with that "Name Popeye's favorite food". Contestant Eve DuBois confidently answered "Chickeeeeen" .  With that said, Popeyes gives $10,000 worth of food after her wrong answer goes viral. How's that for a  year round of chicken.

Anyway, our favorite Popeyes recently opened another branch in Cubao. So this is good news for those who work and live around the area.  So what's your favorite food in Popeyes aside from chicken ;) . I ordered their spaghetti and it was soooo good, cheesy, creamy and not that sweet, its good to partner with another favorite,  their biscuits.

Popeyes offers another mouthwatering treat as it brings its chicken goodness to Ali Mall Cubao.

Cubao foodies are set to welcome the year in the most delicious way as Popeyes introduces its world-famous Cajun flavors in one of the country’s busiest and highly-urbanized districts.

“With the overwhelming support that we received in our previous store openings, we believe that it is best to consistently come up with efforts that will bring the much loved Popeyes chicken closer to every Filipino. This time, in Alimall Cubao, an undeniably ideal location for our North diners,” said Ton Gatmaitan, the marketing director of Kuya J Group, the parent company of Popeyes in the Philippines, during the store’s opening.

A huge and excited crowd of foodies, along with some local celebrities, came to witness the opening of the latest and Instagrammable Popeyes store. They all enjoyed the fast food’s well-loved and distinctly tasteful signature juicy — but not greasy — fried chicken.

It’s packed with distinct Cajun-inspired flavors from Louisiana, USA and it can taste even better when paired with a dash of honey making a sweet and savory combination.

The north squad also enjoyed sinfully delectable meals with Popeyes’ must-try menu items like the iconic honey biscuits, fish and shrimp burgers, and Cajun fries. There were also other savory delights such as the hazelnut and white chocolate biscuits, and the Popeyes spaghetti, which is exclusive to Popeyes’ branches in the Philippines.

Liza Soberano opens up about the things that excite her, and shares her sweet inspirations

From her humble beginnings in local showbiz, to becoming one of the most sought-after celebrities of her generation, it’s easy to say that Liza Soberano has got it all.

To many young individuals, the phenomenal star is an inspiration, with her perfect blend of beauty, wit, talent, and kindness.

But what inspires and motivates someone as wonderful as her? In an interview, the new Great Taste White coffee endorser opens up about the things that excite her, and shares her sweet inspirations.

On love and surprises
I like to be surprised!”, shares Liza with a delightful laugh. “But it’s always hard to surprise me. I don’t know, maybe because I always catch people, or I’m just always expecting. Tapos nasasaktan ako ‘pag wala.”

And while Liza may often be seen dolled up, her down-to-earth spirit continues to shine through her. “I’m not after how grand the surprise is, to me, I bank more on the experience.”

On things she believes in
People have seen Liza take on multiple roles on TV and the big screen. Now, here’s a side of her that many have not yet seen—a budding advocate for street children. “These are things I feel strongly about. Whenever I see kids on the streets, it gives me this sense of feeling that I would like to take part in giving these children the hope and inspiration that they deserve,” said Liza.

At present, Liza takes her time in finding her perfect voice, but this, she shares, is one of the directions she’s determined to take on.

On her sweet inspirations
As one of the A-list Filipino celebrities, Liza admits that it can get challenging at times to sort out the hurdles that come her way, but in light of staying inspired, creative, and true to who she is, Liza says, “It’s a matter of sticking to the people who were with me ever since the beginning. I think it’s very important that I don’t lose my circle of friends and the people who helped me get to where I am now.”

She also shared that it is because she truly has a lot of goals, not just for herself, but also for the people around her. “When I dream, I don’t just dream for myself. As long as you have that love and these dreams that you want to reach for the people you love dearly, you stay inspired.”

When asked what’s one thing that helps her get through her day, she ecstatically said, “Coffee!” To Liza, drinking a cup of coffee daily powers her through when she’s taping, as the long hours of work requires for her to have an energy booster.

“I like my coffee sweet and creamy, that’s why I drink Great Taste White. I prefer to have it in the morning because it’s a perfect way to jumpstart my day, but I also do when I’m simply craving. I see it as one of my sweet inspirations,” she added.

As the newest endorser of Great Taste White, Liza feels blessed and honored to be a part of the family. “What I love most about the product is that I align with it. It’s sweet, like me, (laughs) but kidding aside, it is a great motivation and energy booster especially for the work that I have, that’s why I’m really happy to be on board.”

Great Taste is a long-standing local coffee brand with a rich history of firsts – first white coffee mix, and the first twin pack format--among others. 5 Easy Ways to Beat Airport Inconveniences

AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance providers, shares tips to make traveling by air smoother and hassle-free.

Pack strategically. Travel light as much as possible. Bring only essential items or those you really need. Use travel organizers to separate your things so you do not have to rummage through your luggage or take everything out to find what you need. Buy items in travel sizes allowed by authorities. Find out what you are not allowed to put in your checked-in and/or cabin luggage. Make sure your stuff does not exceed weight limits to avoid paying for excess baggage.

Get to the airport early. Holidays are peak travel seasons and traffic in many major urban centers, particularly Metro Manila, can turn a 15-minute trip into at least an hour-long ride. Try to get to the airport at least three hours before your flight so you will have enough time for check-in and security screening. You can have a more relaxing time waiting for your flight to be called when you’re reading, eating, or shopping.

Keep your phone charged. Have your mobile phone fully charged. Things may not go as planned. You may have to call for information or help. On long flights, keep a charger or powerbank handy so you will have a working phone when you reach your destination. When going abroad, it may be better to buy a new SIM card in the destination country for easier, better and cheaper communication. Before leaving, find out if there are Wi-Fi devices you can rent. Rates may be more affordable and charges may be based on the actual number of days you will be staying in a particular country. The devices can be easily reserved in advance online. They will give you Internet access wherever you go.

Bring something to keep your kids busy. Travelling with children can be difficult, especially when they start wailing as they start to get bored inside the plane. To spare yourself the stress, bring something that will keep your child entertained throughout the flight. Download their favorite movies or television shows, pack their favorite toys, and bring some snacks. If it is a long flight, bring comfortable pillows and blankets. Give disposable earplugs to nearby passengers if you are travelling with a baby.

Get travel insurance. Some of the worst things that can happen when you travel are accidents, medical emergencies, missed flights, and lost baggage and mix-ups. These events can be a real bummer when travelling. Ensure a stress-free vacation with AXA Smart Traveller.

AXA Smart Traveller comes with a wide range of benefits, including 24-hour travel assistance, protection of personal belongings, and refunds for travel inconveniences. You can choose from the Essential, Classic, or Elite Plan. The Classic and Elite Plans are compliant with the Schengen VISA requirement, with the latter offering the highest coverage available. You can also choose a plan for a single trip for up to 10 adults and 10 children travelling together to and from the same destination within the same travel period. There is also the annual plan for an individual or group for frequent flyers.

With the help of AXA Smart Traveller, you can have a stress-free time at the airport for a more fun experience going to your travel destination. To buy your AXA Smart Traveller online, visit www.axa.com.ph.

LG’S NEW SOUNDBAR LINEUP BRINGS PREMIUM AUDIO EXPERIENCE TO EVEN MORE CONSUMERS

LG Electronics (LG) will introduce at CES 2020 an impressive  lineup of soundbars featuring premium quality audio, easy connectivity, smart functionality and sleek designs that integrate perfectly with LG’s stunning TVs.

LG’s new soundbar models deliver rich, true-to-life sound that captivate with their accuracy and depth. The 2020 range again leverages the company’s long-standing partnership with Meridian Audio with more models featuring the company’s finely-tuned technologies such as Bass and Space, which boosts low-frequency reproduction and widens the soundstage and Image Elevation, which ensures a more lifelike listening experience by elevating the perceived height of lead instruments and vocals. Furthermore, the majority of the 2020 lineup supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for dynamic and thoroughly immersive audio.

New for LG premium soundbars, AI Room Calibration guarantees more optimized sound by automatically tailoring output to the specific characteristics of the room. These advanced models are self-calibrating, able to recognize and analyze tones to accurately assess the dimensions of a given space and adjusting accordingly. When playing content mastered with Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, this technology allows users to enjoy breathtakingly realistic surround sound with audio that appears to originate from multiple directions. What’s more, LG’s premium soundbars feature an advanced processing algorithm that can upscale conventional file formats to near-studio quality.

For the most vivid home theater experience possible, LG’s new soundbars offer 4K Pass-Through and more cinema-like audio with the optional SPK8 Wireless Rear Speaker Kit, compatible with most new LG soundbar models. And with Google Assistant built into more models for 2020, users can control compatible smart home devices from their LG soundbar with the comfort and ease of conversational voice commands. Connectivity will be easier than ever with the addition of enhanced audio return channel (eARC) so owners can plug external devices directly into their eARC compatible TVs and enjoy three-dimensional sound of high-resolution audio formats such as Dolby True HD or DTS Master Audio.1

Among LG’s new entries in the soundbar category are two CES Innovation Award winners. Premium models SN9YG and SN11RG are recognized for their enhanced sound quality and usability while the flagship model SN11RG is a 7.1.4-channel system complete with two wireless rear speakers that deliver forward- and up-firing sound for 360 degrees of auditory bliss. With sleek, future-proof designs that match perfectly with the minimalist aesthetics of LG’s sleek 55- and 65-inch TVs, these stylish soundbars create seamless visual harmony that look splendid in any room.

“Our goal has always been to bring better sound to more people and by offering more great products that leverage our successful partnership with Meridian, our latest soundbars help achieve this,” said Park Hyung-woo, head of LG Home Entertainment Company’s audio and video business. “High-performance, convenient and very versatile, LG’s newest models will make the premium audio experience accessible to more customers worldwide.”

Visitors to LG’s CES booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center (Central Hall #11100) can experience the company’s latest soundbar innovations firsthand. Keep up on LG’s announcements at CES by following #LGCES2020 on social media.

With Craft Ice and ThinQ, 2020 Smart LG Fridges Make Food and Drink Prep Easier

LG Electronics (LG) is set to impress visitors at CES 2020 with two new InstaView smart refrigerators: LG InstaView with Craft Ice and the second-generation LG InstaView ThinQ. With thoughtful features for home entertaining and a more streamlined user experience, these groundbreaking InstaView fridges help make the primary kitchen appliance even more convenient and enjoyable. LG’s InstaView technology makes it possible to peer inside the refrigerator without opening the door via a transparent glass panel that also doubles as a display for looking up recipes and watching cooking videos.

Ice that Delights
A helpful ally when entertaining friends and family, the stunning CES 2020 Innovation Award-winning InstaView with Craft Ice is the first refrigerator in the world with a built-in ice maker that produces spherical ice which melts much more slowly. Having rolled out in the United States, LG will be making InstaView with Craft Ice available in additional markets in 2020. Measuring two inches in diameter, the craft ice melts slower than ice cubes to preserve the flavor of drinks longer.

New InstaView ThinQ
In 2020, LG will be upgrading its top-of-the-line InstaView refrigerators with second- generation ThinQ technology. Food items placed inside or removed from the refrigerator – including the Door-in-Door® and crisper drawers – will be tracked with advanced vision and artificial intelligence for real-time inventory of what’s inside at any given moment. With this information, the new LG InstaView ThinQ fridge will be able to offer helpful meal suggestions based on available ingredients. The smarter technology will even alert homeowners when they’re running low on items and suggest options for reordering them, long before you arrive home to find out that you’re out of eggs.

The smarter 2020 LG InstaView’s transparent front panel does more than just let users peer inside without opening the door and letting cold air escape. The panel doubles as a 22-inch display to browse the internet and watch cooking videos via Wi-Fi without a separate smartphone or tablet.

Customer Service the LG Way
Both LG InstaView models on display at CES will offer Proactive Customer Care service, LG’s ThinQ AI-infused smart customer service solution. The service provides consumers personalized support to get the most from their appliances, offering helpful tips to maximize performance and proactively alerting users about potential issues. For instance, this feature monitors the refrigerator’s operation in real time and sends an alert via the LG ThinQ app if it detects an unusual increase in temperature, if the water filter needs replacement and other vital information to keep the refrigerator running best.

“Our goal at CES 2020 is to show what’s possible in tomorrow’s kitchens with LG InstaView refrigerators and AI,” said Dan Song, president of the LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “With technology quickly transforming boring white boxes into exciting machines that can create craft ice, plan dinner and create shopping lists, our advanced refrigerators with ThinQ are designed for customers who appreciate any help they can get in the kitchen.”

Visitors to CES 2020 from January 7-10 can get acquainted with LG’s latest InstaView refrigerators at booth #11100 in Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. All of LG’s CES announcements will be posted on social media under #LGCES2020.
