New and promising persimmon-based soap is a holy grail for ladies over 40!

Numbers that indicate progress in a person’s lives can sometimes be daunting especially for women. In fact, age is often left off the table during conversations, but what if it doesn’t have to be? Fortunately, a new soap that empowers ladies to age gracefully is emerging in the Philippines.

Nonenal among ageing people is often caused by hormonal imbalance but with a pure soap that cleanses the body, smell might as well be a non-issue. This is what KAKI promises as a consumer brand.

KAKI is a new persimmon-based soap that indulges the body into a regenerated state, away from unwanted odors, discoloration, and firmness of skin.

Gina, 42, a bachelorette shares what she noticed after a month of continued use of the soap.

“I no longer feel insecure because KAKI takes care of my body. I used to be so conscious of how I smell because I easily sweat. Now because of Kaki, I feel very confident even after a long day in the sun or even working out.”

The same sentiment is also observed even in more mature ladies. Retired teacher, Angela, 56, says: “My skin feels very light and plump, and it reminds me of my younger days. My children and even my apos are not taken aback by my smell and they love bonding with me. This means a lot to me now that I can focus on my own grandchildren after teaching in school for decades.”

Unravel the secret of the fountain of youth through this premium fruit found in Japan.

Unique in gentleness to the skin and purifying effect, KAKI is without harsh chemicals that promises to speed-up skin lightening or exfoliates the skin more often than it needs to.

KAKI’s Founder and CEO shares her vision for the brand, “At Kaki, we truly aim to empower ladies to age worry-free. We can keep them flawless so they can have the time and energy to focus on what makes them happy. Our running joke internally is that if you use the Kaki soap, life can begin even beyond 40!”

Apart from the immediate effects on the body, KAKI also lessens the nonenal on pillowcases and bed sheets of its consumer and detoxifies without stripping the body of its natural oils. It also comes with a feminine foam wash for the sensitive parts of the ladies.

New and promising persimmon-based soap is a holy grail for ladies over 40.

Kaki keeps the side effects of ageing away and assures its users that ageing, like coming-of-age, should not have a wisp of embarrassment but a treasured phase of grace and poise.

*KAKI is available at Shopee and Lazada starting at Php 160 and foam wash at Php 350.

Alex Gonzaga is the new celebrity ambassador of Villarica Pawnshop

There probably isn’t anyone in the country who has not heard of, have seen or have witnessed the antics of, and the humor of Alex Gonzaga whether on television, the big screen and most especially online.

She has always been seen as the counterpoint to her sister Toni Gonzaga. Alex was the wild, wacky one, while her sister Toni was the more conservative and responsible of the two in the public eye.

“From day one naman, when I entered showbusiness, it has always been my uncaring, off-the-cuff and galawgaw ways that have endeared me to fans and the public,” said Alex Gonzaga. “I was young, carefree, and rebellious in my own way while si Ate Toni talaga ang mas serious, mas dutiful daughter and ate na image talaga sa mata ng publiko.” Alex stressed that this public image, the wild and wacky sister of Toni Gonzaga was in fact what she used as her “pondo”, her investment and foundation to make a name for herself in showbusiness.

“I had to zero in on something, something na hindi malalayo sa pagkatao ko, para naman believable, I can build on, and use to endear me to the public,” she added.

Of course, Alex added that it did not hurt to have a more established sibling in showbusiness to teach her the ropes and guide her as she started life in the public eye, but she knew she had to be known for something more than being the sister of Toni Gonzaga. “What people did not realize then na syempre, our parents raised us a certain way and that deep down, I was still a product of that up-bringing di ba,” Alex exclaimed. “I had a strong sense, a strong pondo ng mga pangaral ng mga magulang, a foundation of being God-fearing, a need for a sense of purpose, and above all financial security para sa future namin.”

A few years back, Toni and Alex on their own ventured into a business aside from their showbusiness careers. One of the more notable venture of the sisters were their Happy Cup Milk Tea business in 2017. Alex said, “These business, yung milk tea namin is really a product of the deep lessons on preparing for the future that we have learned from Mommy Pinty, na lagging maging handa, laging may nakatabi na fall back, may investment at syempre para pomondo sa kinabukasan.” Alex did not stop there.

She invested as well in her own future with her product endorsements and YouTube channel, as a sought-after online content creator that has generated millions upon millions of followers which definitely generated more financial security for the young thespian. “Yang YouTube channel na ‘yan is probably one of the best moves I have made in my career,” Alex excitedly said. “A lot of thought comes in producing each video, a lot of planning, and of course creativity to ensure that the audience will enjoy what they watch that is true to the Alex Gonzaga brand.”

“Relevance, ayan, relevance and reinvention ang pondo natin dyan sa YouTube Channel.” Alex mentioned that she capitalized on her showbiz identity, on how she has been seen by the public, and her connections as well as her investment on video equipment, learning editing skills, and the like to ensure that she remains relevant as people begin to move their attention to ‘digitainment’.

In a rare moment of introspection, Alex Gonzaga turned very serious and said, “Now that I’m a wife and syempre, in the future a mother, lahat ng natutunan ko, lahat nang naipondo ko sa sarili ko, sa business, at kung anu-ano pa, I have to channel now in my new role.” Alex married long-time boyfriend Mikey Morada, a businessman and City Councilor in Lipa Batangas in November of 2020 during the height of the pandemic.

“I have to be wiser in my investments, I have to be wiser in spending money, need na mas maingat sa mga desisyon kasi I no longer just have to look after myself at mga needs ko, may sarili na ako ngayong pamilya and di na naman uso na dapat bilang maybahay ay iaasa na buo ang kinabukasan sa mga asawa di ba?” “This deal that I have now with Villarica Pawnshop is a blessing,” Alex added. “Dati kasi pag nasa isip ko pawnshop, ibig sabihin nun sangla, parang utang ba na may collateral kasi short ka sa pera, negative ang dating.” Alex further mentioned, “Habang nakikipag-usap ako sa kanila, I learned so much more that the industry pala ng pawnshop has transformed. Naging paraan na sila para maka-access ang mga Pilipino sa mga lugar na di nararating ng mga bangko sa mga serbisyo na parang pang bangko na rin.

They offer such a wide range na service, sila Villarica pala ay ka tie-up na rin ng mga bangko, na nag po-provide na rin sila ng mga paraan para makakuha ng karagdagang pondo para sa mga negosyo ng mga tao.” Especially in this time of the pandemic, where businesses are closing, that companies are right sizing and right, people need to adjust the way they think or else risk their future and their families.

“Naku when you see the news, minsan nakakaawa ang mga nawawalan ng mga trabaho. Napalaki kasi ang iba na need mo maging empleyado, na maging manager para sure ang future. Right now, people need to realize na dapat pondohan nila ang mga sarili nila, na pwede rin naman magsimula ng maliit na negosyo, maging entrepreneur,” Alex said.

“And si Villarica, believe it or not can help them with that, among other things.” Alex also mentioned that some Filipinos may find it more prudent to invest in gold if they have the extra money. “Sabi nga ni Mommy Pinty sa akin, ang alahas, lalo na ang gold, pondo rin yan. She said that it was and will always be a wise investment.” She added that Villarica is a good source of excellent quality gold if one has the extra funds.

With more than 500 branches nationwide, Villarica remains to be a leading pawnshop with the highest appraisal value and a preferred money remittance (“cash padala”) and money changer outlet in the Philippines.

Gloc-9’s First Indie Album Release

Ever since transitioning to become an independent artist, Gloc-9 has been releasing singles via his various digital platforms such as YouTube and Spotify.  However, the month of LOVE have ignited the fires of inspiration in our favorite MAKATA that he came out with a six track Valentine’s “album” to be released starting February 14-19 one track per day.

Titled POOT AT PAG-IBIG, the album is a Valentine’s anthology to love, romanticizing stories of a dying love (Title Track:  Alitaptap), love for your dream (Title Track: Di Marunong and Payong), a partner’s longing (Title Track: Sana), a selfish love (Title Track: Oka), and (Title Track: BPB) life’s harsh realities often devoid of love.  All songs were composed by Aristotle Pollisco, arranged by Rassel “Goodson” Tiquia, and mixed and mastered by John Edmel “Gcode” Tabuniar.

But what makes this project extra special is Gloc-9’s collaboration with his twins, Danielle Shaun and Sean Daniel.  Danielle Shaun, who is featured as elle shaun, showcases her singing voice in the song “Sana” (second collaboration between father and daughter after the song “Gusto Ko” featured in Gloc-9’s “Talumpati” album) and Daniel rendered the concept art of the album cover.  Subscribe to gloc-9’s youtube channel for updates Gloc -9

The Problem Down Under

We've all heard about love at first sight, but I don’t seem to recall anyone talking about love at first whiff.

Yet I’m pretty sure, a lot of you my fellow readers, will agree that the smell of our partners plays a big role in a relationship.

We connect scent with grooming, cleanliness and proper hygiene. We even have this saying “Mukhang Mabango.”  If they smell good, it means they take really good care of themselves. It may seem too superficial, but if a man couldn’t take care of himself, how can we expect them to take care of us right?

That perception is also true for us women. Did you know that proper grooming and hygiene ranks on top of the non-sexual turn-ons for men?

So as much as we love our men smelling good, we too should make sure we smell just as nice.

But what if that smell couldn’t be fixed by a spray of perfume or even taking multiple baths—especially when its coming from down under?

One of the things we women should be aware of is a case called bacterial vaginosis. According to Mayoclinic.org bacterial vaginosis as “a type of vaginal inflammation caused by the overgrowth of bacteria naturally found in the vagina, which upsets the natural balance.

BV results from [an] overgrowth of one of several bacteria naturally found in your vagina. Usually, ‘good’ bacteria (lactobacilli) outnumber ‘bad’ bacteria (anaerobes). But if there are too many anaerobic bacteria, they upset the natural balance of microorganisms in your vagina and cause bacterial vaginosis.”

Now before you go asking your partner if he’s been smelling something fishy in your bedroom, know that there is actually a natural vaginal odor. My gynecologist told me that there should be a certain odor but not strong like a "smelly fish" or worse a dead animal.

If your discharge smells bad or fishy, there may be something wrong and it may already be a sign of  BV or trichomoniasis.

The normal vaginal pH balance can be disturbed, at worst resulting in irritations and infections by factors including hormonal changes, use of certain antibiotics, menstruation, overused sanitary napkins or tampons, synthetic panty liners, a diet high in sucrose and lactose, douching, and the use of feminine washes with inappropriate pH values.

According to study, Bacterial vaginosis (usually just known as B.V.) is the most common vaginal infection in people ages 15 to 44, and it happens when there is too much of certain bacteria in your vagina. This throws off the pH of your vagina.

While a Trichomoniasis, on the other hand,  is caused by a tiny parasite that moves between people during sex, and it’s actually pretty common. In addition to a stinky smelly discharge, it can make your genitals itch and cause painful peeing, though many people experience no symptoms.

The question now is how can you prevent and get rid of smelly vaginal odor?

1. First thing is to invest in good underwear. If you’re wearing a silk undies, try polyester or cotton.

2. Avoid wearing tight-fitting pants or leggings.

3. Eat healthy, because what you eat may play a big factor in your vaginal odor.

4.  You could try EcoVag.  EcoVag is a lactobacillus capsule that claims to significantly reduce the risk of bacterial vaginosis and effectively treat symptoms of vaginal discomfort. EcoVag capsules used in the study contained strains of Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus gasseri.

EcoVag probiotic suppositories can be used to complement your antifungal or bacterial vaginosis treatment, or as a preventative measure to help maintain a healthy vaginal microflora to avoid yeast or bacterial infections in future.

EcoVag is natural so it wont have any side effects when you use it in the long run. EcoVag capsules improve vaginal discomfort with symptoms such as unpleasant odor, itching or unusual discharge.

To use, EcoVag is inserted deep into the vagina, like a suppository. It is best done right before bedtime to allow it to dissolve in the vagina as you sleep. It is taken for 6 to 8 consecutive days and promises to eliminate the symptoms of vaginosis. It is safe to use during breastfeeding but not to be used during menstruation.

EcoVag is a product imported from Denmark and distributed locally by , a resource management company that provides marketing, operational and financial expertise to start-up businesses like Compact Pharmaceuticals, Corp.

Compact Pharmaceuticals is the same manufacturer of Jewel-Cee a  sodium ascorbate vitamin which we featured a few weeks back. They are also introducing a new  sildenafil citrate brand called Hydenex.

Sildenafil, more commonly known as Viagra was used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, but due to its side effects of increasing blood flow to the penis, its now being used by men who suffer from erectile dysfunction.

For older men or even those who need a little help in keeping it up to satisfy their partners, its best to talk to your doctor first about the possibility of taking sildenafil citrate/Hydenex as it cannot simply be bought over the counter. It is also something that cannot be taken by people who have heart condition and taking nitrate medications.

Hydenex and Ecovag are now available in select drugstores in the country. For your safety, consult your doctor before using Hydenex or EcoVag.

Pag-ibig ang Pipiliin: Get ready to be inspired to choose love this Valentine’s season

The most streamed Filipina artist on Spotify Moira Dela Torre collaborates with PLDT Home for the music video of her latest single “Pag-ibig ang Piliin,” composed and arranged by award-winning songwriter Jonathan Manalo. As the voice for PLDT Home’s campaign this Valentine’s Day, Moira once again captivates the hearts with a song that speaks the true meaning of love.

In its Valentine’s Campaign, PLDT Home highlights the importance of choosing to love amidst all circumstances and challenges. While the internet and social media have become important platforms for free expression and open dialogue, the #ChooseToLove campaign reminds everyone to always choose love over hate, divisiveness, fear and rejection.

This new song is a bright ray of light that is much needed today. It tells us that love is the most powerful choice through its moving lines.

“Kahit na ‘di natin alam ang bukas

Kahit ‘di sumikat ang araw at bumuhos ang ulan

Kahit hindi umayon ang tadhana

Isang tawag mo lang, pupuntahan nasaan ka man.

Ganyan ang tunay na pag-ibig ‘di takot sa mundo

Ipaglalaban kita hanggang sa dulo

Pag-ibig ang pipiliin ko.”

Moira notes that she was “honored to be chosen by PLDT Home” to sing this new song. She continues that the message of the song is what she has been trying to embody in the many years that she has been an artist.

Songwriter and music arranger Jonathan Manalo shares that the main message of the song highlights the ultimate power of love that changes and conquers all. He says, “This a love song that puts emphasis on ‘Love’ that is worth fighting for. Love against all odds, even if the world seems to disapprove, no one can question the power of a person’s great true love. When you choose to fight for love, it is the ultimate power, nothing, no one can stand in your way.” The song was also co-written by singer-songwriter Trisha Denise.
