Ever Bilena brings Filipina beauty to the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 runway

In a powerful celebration of modern Filipina beauty, Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc., the Official Color Cosmetics Partner of Miss Universe Philippines 2026, unveiled the EB Atelier: A Showcase of Filipina Beauty at the Bamberton Center in Arca South, Taguig.

The exclusive runway event brought together 50 official candidates of Miss Universe Philippines 2026 in a striking display of confidence, individuality, and artistry—each embodying Ever Bilena’s enduring message: #ForEveryBeauty.

Hosted by Gayle Resubal, the evening transformed the runway into a visual canvas, with candidates dressed in rich burgundy ensembles and complemented by signature Ever Bilena looks. The showcase highlighted not only beauty, but the strength, diversity, and evolving identity of the Filipina.

The event also marked a milestone collaboration between two iconic institutions—Ever Bilena, a pioneer in Philippine cosmetics, and Miss Universe Philippines, the country’s premier platform for empowered Filipina representation on the global stage.

A distinguished panel of judges

Guiding the selection of standout candidates was a distinguished panel of judges composed of leaders across industries. The panel included data analytics expert and TV5 chief data analyst Edson Guido, internationally recognized physician Dr. Henry Costa, Petalier founder and creative director Diane Yap, and Ever Bilena’s chief sales and marketing Officer Denice Sy.

Each judge evaluated the candidates based on their runway presence, ability to express individuality through beauty, and how they embodied Ever Bilena’s inclusive philosophy of celebrating beauty in all its forms.

Celebrating the standouts: Miss Ever Bilena Top 5

Following a rigorous evaluation, five exceptional candidates were recognized as recipients of the Miss Ever Bilena Cosmetics Special Award during the preliminary events leading up to coronation night.

The Top 5 finalists are: Roxie Baeyens (Baguio City), Apriel Smith (Cebu City), Nicole Borromeo (Cebu Province), Bea Millan-Windorski (La Union) and Bella Ysmael (Taguig City).

Each finalist received Php 10,000 in cash and Php 20,000 worth of Ever Bilena products, celebrating their embodiment of the brand’s values: confidence, inclusivity, and authenticity.

One among them will ultimately be crowned Miss Ever Bilena 2026 at the grand coronation night.

A celebration beyond the runway

The EB Atelier event was more than a fashion showcase—it was a continuation of Ever Bilena’s commitment to making beauty empowering and meaningful.

Earlier in the season, candidates participated in a Women’s Month activation titled “From the Stages to the Streets,” where they connected with everyday Filipinas through surprise-and-delight moments at Ayala Malls Arca South—bridging the gap between pageantry and real-world impact.

The evening also highlighted the Bamberton Center as Ever Bilena’s newest landmark space, symbolizing the company’s continued growth and vision for the future of Filipino beauty.

Enhancing the experience were event partners including Petalier, which brought its signature floral artistry to the venue, and Tomoro Coffee, which provided premium brews for guests throughout the evening.

Championing Filipina beauty on the global stage

As the Official Color Cosmetics Partner of Miss Universe Philippines 2026, Ever Bilena continues to champion the belief that world-class beauty is not defined by one standard—but celebrated in all forms.

Through initiatives like the EB Atelier, the brand reinforces its role in shaping a more inclusive, empowered, and globally competitive representation of Filipina beauty.

How Moms Are Using Side Hustles to Build Stronger Futures for Their Families

This month, modern Filipino moms are proving that motherhood and entrepreneurship can thrive hand in hand. Across the country, more mothers are stepping beyond traditional roles and embracing life as “mompreneurs,” building businesses from home, pursuing their passions, and reshaping the future of their families through digital innovation.

Through communities like PLDT Home’s Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH), the modern “side hustle” has evolved into something far more powerful: a tech-enabled lifeline helping families navigate an increasingly unpredictable world.

For many mompreneurs, the journey began with either necessity or a spark of inspiration, a homemade chili garlic recipe, curated thrift finds, bespoke footwear, or personalized digital art. Some were driven by the economic uncertainty brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially after losing jobs or sources of income. What started as small ventures eventually became sustainable businesses that now support entire households and communities.

Ayn Stephanie Buyco Angeles, founder of HERS by Godfather and Diskarteng Malikhain awardee at Gawad Madiskarte 2023.

“I had just resigned from my corporate job and I had an 8-month-old baby to take care of. It was challenging at first because running a business means thinking about marketing strategies, finances, and product development 24/7. That’s on top of my responsibilities as a mom. It was daunting at first, but I was able to press on,” says Ayn Stephanie Buyco Angeles, founder of Marikina-based bespoke footwear brand HERS by Godfather.

May Martin-Pimentel, founder of Momsatwork and Diskarteng Digital awardee at Gawad Madiskarte 2023.

“My husband and I got laid off in Dubai, so we decided to return to the Philippines to start anew. When I started Momsatwork, all I could think of was that I had to succeed for my family. I wanted other moms who had the same struggles as me to find a support system through MomsatWork. I wanted to make an empowering and educational platform that will provide opportunities for moms like me,” echoes May Martin-Pimentel, founder of consultation firm Momsatwork.

Faced with changing realities, mothers like Angeles and Pimentel chose to adapt, rebuild, and take charge of their futures. With the support of their loved ones and the sisterhood they found through PLDT Home’s MMPH community, they learned how to scale their businesses and to transform homegrown ideas into thriving enterprises.

The Power of an Uninterrupted Connection

In today’s digital-first economy, a mompreneur’s most valuable tool goes beyond creativity and determination — it is reliable internet connectivity.

From managing online orders and hosting livestreams to attending upskilling webinars and engaging customers on social media, a stable internet has become essential to sustaining and growing their businesses.

PLDT Home continues to empower Filipino moms by providing the connectivity they need to pursue opportunities online. Through high-speed and reliable internet, mompreneurs can reach customers across the Philippines and even overseas which allows their businesses to grow beyond the limits of geography.

The rise of the “Madiskarte Mom” reflects how economic empowerment can begin at home. With the right tools, support systems, and opportunities, mothers are redefining what is possible for the modern Filipino family. More than building businesses, they are building confidence, purpose, and a lasting digital legacy for future generations.

Joelle Dianne Vinegas, founder of Golden Pots Agriculture and DiskartengMay-Puso awardee at Gawad Madiskarte 2023.

“More than entrepreneurial success, Madiskarte Moms PH renewed my purpose and confidence. I learned that motherhood does not mean the end of personal goals. It should, in fact, fuel you to aspire higher,” says Joelle Dianne Vinegas, founder of garden shop Golden Pots Agriculture.

This Mother’s Day, PLDT Home celebrates the women who turned challenges into opportunities and passion into purpose. They are the new architects of the family economy — proving that with heart, determination, and meaningful connection, a side hustle can truly change lives and uplift communities.

PLDT High Speed Hitters Honor Moms After PVL Podium Return

For the PLDT High Speed Hitters, the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference was a turning point – a hard-earned bronze that marked their first trip to the podium in this edition. But if you ask the players about the grit required to get there, while the never-ending drills and relentless gym hours are definitely important, they will mostly talk about the importance of the support from home. Behind the High Speed Hitters are the ever-reliable figures who taught them discipline before they ever touched a volleyball – their moms.

This Mother’s Day, the team is stripping away the jersey numbers to share the personal stories of the women who fueled their historic run.

For Filipino-Canadian outside hitter Savi Davison, the pressure of professional sports is balanced by a mother who refuses to measure her daughter’s worth in wins.

"She never put pressure on me to achieve accolades," the PVL On Tour Most Valuable Player says. She adds, her mother’s mantra was simpler: Your best will always be enough. From the logistics of early-morning practices to the emotional weight of cross-country flights, her mom was the silent engine that kept her going, and it paid out well as Davison became one of the team’s top anchors in the PVL.

So, for Davison, this Mother’s Day weekend is all about mirroring that consistency. “My mom already knows how much she means to me – she’s not only my mother, but also my best friend,” she says. “If there’s anything more to say, it’s that I’m incredibly proud to be so much like her. Even with her strong and independent nature, she remains wistful, curious, and always beautiful.”

Professional volleyball can be a lifestyle of distance, too. For opposite hitter Jessey de Leon, Mother’s Day 2026 will be a digital one. Currently outside the Philippines, she relies on a screen to stay present.

"I’ll be video calling her," de Leon explains. Her mother’s support has always been the quiet kind, the type that provides space for growth while keeping a player grounded. Whether it's a quick check-in via video call or a shared digital meal, the connection remains uninterrupted, turning a physical absence into a meaningful moment through fast, reliable internet by PLDT Home.

“I’m so grateful for her and for everything she’s sacrificed for our family. She’s shown me what it really means to care for her children,” de Leon says, before adding a heartfelt message, “I love you always!”

Team skipper Kath Arado also knows the feeling of this distance all too well. While she’s in Manila, her heart is in Iligan City in Northern Mindanao. The recent conference’s Best Libero has a drive rooted in a specific kind of maternal sacrifice: her mother once flew to another country to work as a caregiver, ensuring their family had what they needed.

"I wouldn’t be where I am today without her," Arado says. “I thank her for all the sacrifices, love, and support she’s given me and to my younger siblings.”

This year, the distance is closed with a video call and a coordinated surprise – cake and flowers delivered to Iligan, a small way to honor a woman who gave up so much. The distance is no hurdle for Arado and her family to celebrate, and she proves that across seas, she is just as reliable as her idol of a mom.

Lastly, for outside hitter Alleiah Malaluan, the off-season is a time for physical recovery, but also for emotional regrouping. Her mother has been her "number one supporter" since her youth, providing the moral compass that Malaluan credits for her success. This weekend, a delivery of flowers to Batangas serves as a placeholder for her gratitude.

“Mommy, thank you for everything you’ve done for me,” Malaluan says in a special message for her mother. “Know that I am really grateful to call you my mom. I love you!”

Bridging real, reliable connections

While the PVL bronze medal might be the trophy on the shelf, the real victory for the High Speed Hitters is the support system that never wavers. Whether they are celebrating in person or via high-definition video call, the ever-reliable connection of PLDT Home Fiber makes sure that for these athletes, the most important connections at home never time out.

Mother’s Day Plans? Here Are 5 Fun Ways to Spend Time with Mom

Celebrate your female inspo with these fun and fresh activities to do at Expo Mom 2026, powered by PLDT Home Fiber

Mother’s Day has always had its usual hallmarks and rituals every year: the early morning bouquet while the sunshine is still soft, the frantic search for a dinner reservation (before the actual Sunday, of course), and the familiar chorus of "Thank you, Mom" when it’s time to serenade her.

But as the dynamics of the Filipino family evolve, so does the way we celebrate the women at the heart of our homes. Today’s mothers have evolved beyond their traditional roles – now more empowered than ever, they are entrepreneurs, digital navigators, and lifelong learners. And while they may not always say it, most of the time our moms crave more than just a token gift; they crave the connections with their loved ones, especially their children.

If you’re looking to change it up and move past the usual routine of lunch, flowers, and a gift for Mama, here are a few meaningful ways to bond with her this Mother’s Day weekend at Expo Mom, hosted by Mommy Mundo and powered by its official broadband partnerPLDT Home Fiber:

1. Artistic reflections with mom

Instead of buying a card, spend an hour in a creative flow. Creative spaces at Expo Mom, like junk journaling and portrait painting offer a rare moment of pause. It’s a chance for moms to reconnect with their own identities through art, while children – young or grown – get to see a different, more expressive side of their mothers.

2. Disco dancing during the day!

There is a unique kind of joy found in movement. When was the last time Mom danced her heart out? If it’s been a while, take her to a "Daytime Disco for Moms,” as dancing should be a high-energy reminder that motherhood shouldn't mean the end of fun. Let her let loose, shake off the weekly stress, and simply enjoy the rhythm of being together.

3. Shopping with a story

Support can be a form of celebration. Browsing through the MamaMarket lets the whole family meet mompreneurs behind the brands and products your family will love. It’s an inspiring way for families to see the creativity and resilience of the community while picking out something special that supports another family’s dream.

4. Listening to insightful talks

Motherhood was never meant to be a solo act. Attending support group sessions or listening to onstage talks provides a sense of "I see you." For families, hearing these honest conversations about the realities of parenting at the Community Connections space fosters a deeper empathy and understanding for what Mom handles every day.

5. Strutting it out!

Confidence is the best outfit, and seeing moms walk the runway during the fashion show is a vibrant celebration of style at every stage of life. It’s a moment for the whole family to cheer from the sidelines, celebrating the individuality and grace that Mom brings to the household.
