UNIQLO to Release Paul & Joe Spring/Summer 2022 Collection

UNIQLO announces that it will release the Spring/Summer 2022 Paul & Joe range as part of the UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) lineup on Friday, April 8. The new offering follows up on the first collaboration collection with the French brand in 2021. Designer Sophie Mechaly founded Paul & Joe, which has become beloved worldwide for its playful prints and hues. The new collection now incorporates innerwear. It exuberates in spring, adding a splash of color to wardrobes when out and about or at home.

Commenting on the collection, Ms. Mechaly said that "I am happy to be collaborating with UNIQLO again. For this collection, I used my two beloved cats as motifs, and the production process was a lot of fun. In line with UNIQLO's LifeWear philosophy, I hope to make everyone happy through my clothes. I hope this collection will give people around the world the pleasure of enjoying fashion."

The collection features numerous new patterns, including adorable cats and swallows, which signify good fortune. The innerwear delivers attention to detail. Excellent examples are shorts with signature chrysanthemum lace decorations and camisoles with fine spaghetti straps that can serve as visible innerwear. The diverse lineup ranges from T-shirts and dresses to scarves, bags, and other accessories. Baby bodysuits appear for the first time in this collection, which offers fun for infants, girls, and mothers alike.

Mix and match your wardrobe with colors inspired by vivo Y73’s Diamond Flare and Roman Black

Bold and elegant hues have taken fashion, as well as smartphone design, by storm this year. Now, people are looking for ways to mix and match both aspects for their everyday wear.

With new phones like the vivo Y73, which comes in iridescent Diamond Flare and sleek Roman Black colorways, it’s inevitable for people to feel inspired by its versatile design. These also resemble popular color trends seen on recent runway shows.

They can also take highly detailed shots of their outfits for their style diaries afterwards with the 64MP AI Rear Camera and 4K Video. Additionally, the EIS Video feature lets users take clear moving shots, while the AI Super Night Mode and HD Supernight Selfie lets them take vibrant photos even at night.

Whether they’re vibrant pantsuits or black silk crepe dresses, here’s how bright and luxe colors dominated the runways.

Seeing purple

Italian fashion house Valentino made a statement with their all-purple runway at Paris Fashion Week. The collection consisted of silk shirts, floral kimonos, and flowy dresses perfect for the summer season. Stand out in the crowd and incorporate this shade to everyday wear and business clothes.

Y73 camera tip: Coordinate outfits with the Y73 Diamond Flare colorway, and show off the pairing with a mirror selfies. Make the colors pop by adjusting the photo or video’s brightness and contrast in the phone’s editing software.

Gold on black

Schiaparelli is well-known for its elegant, eccentric fashion – and they brought just that to Paris. Their couture collection showcased suits with oversized shoulder pads, asymmetrical dresses, and gowns with exaggerated accessories. Despite being a mostly black-and-white collection, the pieces also had gold accents for the additional shimmer.

Y73 camera tip: At night, make black ensembles shine through with the Y73’s AI Super Night Mode, which will ensure that subjects will look more vibrant even in dim lighting.

Cutting edge

Hermès wanted to highlight women’s power and femininity with their fall 2022 collection. Form-hugging leather and flowy neutral fabrics stood out in the collection, with models strutting the runway in suits, formal coats, and short dresses – all pieces one can pull off daily and on special occasions.

Y73 camera tip: It can be difficult to make black and neutrals stand out in photos. But with HD quality photos and 4K Video, one can make small details, like prints and texture in fabric, appear clearly in shots. The large 6.44 inch AMOLED Display also allows users to see media bigger when editing.

Calming colors

Balenciaga presented a predominantly black collection with some blue and yellow pieces cutting through the dark pieces. These brought a calming element to the edgy runway. If one is wearing an all-black suit, they can balance it out with some color as well.

Y73 camera tip: A fun camera trick is using the Y73’s Dual-View Video to simultaneously show off one’s hair and makeup, and their outfits and accessories. This will give one’s followers a different perspective of their OOTDs on their Instagram feed and Stories.

Whimsical wedding

Italian fashion house Blumarine presented a wide range of fun womenswear for their Paris show. From elegant black dresses with trench coats to sultry pastel mini-dresses, the runway looked like a fun wedding party with models also wearing veils and stockings of varying colors. If anyone’s looking for elegant and colorful wedding attire, take inspiration from Blumarine.

Y73 camera tip: Play around with dresses’ flowy movement with the Y73’s slow-motion feature to add some drama to one’s style diary, making it more dynamic and eye-catching than regular OOTD videos. They can splice together slow-mo videos to flaunt their outfits.

From the runway to the streets, people can incorporate any of these bold and luxe colors to add some oomph to their outfits. The vivo Y73’s equally stylish design can easily complement these looks.

It’s also convenient with its slim (only 7.38mm thick) and lightweight with an Amoled Display and ultra-thin AG (anti-glare) glass, which minimizes fingerprint smudging. And with an outstanding 64MP HD Rear Camera and 4K Video, their style diaries will showcase their best fashion stories.

The world’s leading cleft-focused organization, Smile Train and GSK Consumer Healthcare supported a three-day Comprehensive Cleft Care Webinar series organized by the Association of Philippine Orthodontists (APO).

There were 518 participants from 26 countries registered for the webinar series. Many of the speakers work or have been trained at Smile Train’s partner, the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation of the Philippines.

Also joining the panel was Dr. Alvaro Figueroa, a member of Smile Train’s Global Medical Advisory Board. With more than forty years of experience in treating patients with complex dental problems and craniofacial anomalies, Dr. Figueroa shared his extensive knowledge on orthognathic surgery and treatment protocols for cleft and craniofacial patients.

“Individuals born with a cleft require various types of dental and orthodontic treatments throughout their lifetime,” said Kimmy Coseteng-Flaviano, Smile Train Vice President, South East Asia. “This webinar series is reflective of our continued commitment to empowering local medical professionals and enabling them to provide safe, quality and timely cleft care for cleft-affected individuals who depend on us.”

“GSK Consumer Healthcare is proud to partner with Smile Train to increase awareness about clefts. Together we are committed to helping more people born with clefts to gain access to quality healthcare and to advance cleft care across the world,” said Emerson Aguinaldo, General Manager, Southeast Asia and Taiwan, GSK Consumer Healthcare.  To date our partnership has delivered 13,500 life changing cleft surgeries, training for over 8,800 healthcare professionals, and supported 38,000 families.

In 2021, with the support of GSK Consumer Healthcare and Smile Train, the World Dental Federation (FDI) released Oral Health Guidelines for comprehensive cleft care.

“This webinar series enables orthodontists, and other cleft professionals, not only in the Philippines but in other countries to learn more about the specialized field of cleft orthodontics, and ensure they gain the necessary skills to support cleft-affected individuals,” shared Dr. Janet Pandan, President of the Association of Philippine Orthodontists. “We are proud to work with Smile Train and GSK Consumer Healthcare, and thankful for their continued support as we strengthen the knowledge and capacities not only of our member dentists but also share that knowledge with our fellow practitioners across the region.”

Smart kicks off GIGA Arena with epic ML exhibition match

To celebrate the launch of Smart GIGA Arena, mobile services provider  Inc hosted an epic exhibition match featuring some of the best Philippine esports players and content creators of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang last March 9.

Pro esports team Smart Omega took on the Smart Dream Team, which was led by cosplayer and gamer Alodia Gosiengfiao, and included streamers and content creators Dexie Diaz, Ghostwrecker, Nix, and Pabbie Gaming.

The Dream Team started out hot and managed to outplay Omega in game one, scoring a surprising win as they applied pressure in a hard-fought battle that lasted a full 20 minutes. The Dream Team, all maxed out at level 15 and racking up more kills than Omega at 31-27, overwhelmed their opponents’ base and core at the end as a full team.

Being outdone by their opponents, Omega didn’t take that loss sitting down. They would turn it up and come back with a blistering win in the second game, taking only around 12 minutes to put intense pressure on the Dream Team and clear out their base, clearing a path and keeping the team at bay while they took the core.

After tying the match at one game apiece, the pros followed that up by proving their mettle and professional pedigree in the third game. It was a competitive bout that lasted almost 20 minutes—Omega took it to the Dream Team’s base again. Although the Dream Team put up a good fight with a winnable clash at their core, Omega’s Kelra amazingly got in the hits needed to destroy the core and win the game in an unbelievable close and cardiac finish.

On top of the amazingly competitive three games between Smart Omega and the Dream Team, some lucky viewers of the stream also came away with special Mobile Legends skins just by watching and registering to Smart GIGA Arena.
