 In May, Airbnb introduced Airbnb Categories so that millions of people could discover homes they never knew existed. Today, Airbnb is introducing Airbnb Setup to make it easy for millions of people to Airbnb their home. Airbnb is also providing even more AirCover for Hosts and adding six new Airbnb Categories.

      Even more AirCover for Hosts - Now featuring even more top-to-bottom protection, with guest identity verification, reservation screening, and $3M damage protection, including coverage for cars, boats, art and valuables.

      New Airbnb Categories -  Adding six new categories of homes, as well as improving the way Airbnb Categories are displayed.

New homes on Airbnb are getting booked almost immediately. Half of listings that were activated and booked in Q3 2022 received their first reservation within three days. Airbnb also saw  strong growth rates of new Hosts, especially in certain countries with high inflation rates.

Over the past year, more than 30 million people have visited Airbnb to learn about hosting. Today, Airbnb is making it easier for millions of people to get started. Introducing Airbnb Setup, the all-new, super easy way to Airbnb one’s home. Airbnb Setup includes:


 

      One-to-one guidance from a Superhost - When a host begins Airbnb Setup, Airbnb will match them with a Superhost for free one-to-one guidance from their  first question through their  first guest. New Hosts can chat with their  Superhost over audio, video, or messaging. Airbnb is launching with 1,500 Superhosts in over 80 countries who are dedicated to helping new Hosts get started. 

      An experienced guest for your first booking - For a new Host’s first booking, they  can choose to welcome an experienced guest who has at least three stays and a good track record on Airbnb.

      Specialized support from Airbnb - As a new Host, they  get one-tap access to a specially-trained team of Community Support agents. They can help with everything from account issues to getting paid and are available via phone, messaging, or email in over 42 languages.

 

Even more AirCover for Hosts

Last November, Airbnb  introduced AirCover to provide unmatched, top-to-bottom protection for every Host on Airbnb. Today, Airbnb is making major upgrades to AirCover for Hosts:

 

      Guest identity verification - Airbnb is expanding identity verification to all booking guests traveling to the top 35 countries and regions on Airbnb—representing 90% of all reservations. Airbnb will expand guest identity verification worldwide in Spring 2023.

      Reservation screening technology - Airbnb is launching its  proprietary reservation screening technology in the US and Canada, which helps reduce the chance of disruptive parties. Airbnb will expand its reservation screening technology worldwide in Spring 2023.

      $3M damage protection - Airbnb is tripling damage protection from $1 million to $3 million – covering both Hosts’ homes and its contents. 

      Auto & boat protection - Airbnb  now provides damage protection for cars, boats, and other watercraft that Hosts park or store at their properties. 

      Art & valuables protection - A wider range of fine art, jewelry, and collectibles will now be repaired or replaced at appraised value.

      Easier to file a claim - Hosts can now file a claim for damage protection in a few simple steps and easily track its progress from submission through payout.

 

New Airbnb Categories

In May, Airbnb introduced a new way to search designed around Airbnb Categories. Today, Airbnb is introducing six new categories:

  

      New - Homes added to Airbnb within the past 10 weeks.

      Top of the world - Homes around 10,000 feet above sea level, often with stunning views.

      Trending - Highly-rated homes that received more listing views compared to the previous week.

      Adapted - Homes adapted for wheelchair access, with verified step-free paths into the home, bedroom and bathroom.

      Play - Homes with basketball courts, game rooms, miniature golf, water slides and more.

      Hanoks - Traditional Korean homes constructed of natural materials.

 

Airbnb is  also improving what categories it shows guests. For example, when you launch the app, you'll find the Vineyards category if you recently searched for homes in Napa. In addition, more details will be presented in search results when viewing categories. For example, homes with amazing views will list the type of view, and homes near national parks will show the distance to the park entrance.

YouTube FanFest returned on-ground to celebrate its 10th anniversary and this year’s all-star edition featured electrifying and entertaining performances from APAC’s biggest content creators, taking the fans through the region’s creativity and diversity  talents.


More than just a live show

Fans have long awaited the return of FanFest on-ground and they were treated to more than just live performances. Fans were able to catch a glimpse of their favorite creators during the red carpet interviews and a select group of fans even had the chance to take exclusive photos with them during the meet & greet! 

 

A celebration of culture and diversity

With more than 50 creators and artists representing 11 countries from APAC, fans went through diverse cultural experiences with performances from Punjabi singer and actress Noor Chahal and Atta Halilintar‘s heart-thumping number among others. 

 

Philippine powerhouse

Defining #SiblingGoals, the trio of RanzNiana, and Natalia wowed the audience with their dance moves and performed their original song “Noise”. Meanwhile, AC Bonifacio, widely known for her dance covers, surprised the audience with a performance of her original song “Fool No Mo”. P-pop group SB19 completes the list of Filipino performers in the show with their special video performance of “WYAT”.

 

Ninong RyClaudine Co, and Tita Krissy Achino also had special virtual appearances during the show, giving a glimpse of their channel’s content. 

 

Pop groups bring in the hype

There was no shortage of pop groups in FanFest 2022, all of which brought an equal amount of hype to the audience. Among the pop groups who joined the show were Travis Japan and アカネキカク (akanekikaku) from Japan, Billie from Korea, and StarBe from Indonesia. 

 

Ballads giving heartfelt performances

Jerome Polin (Nihongo Mantappu) and Benjamin Kheng gave the audience a pleasant change of pace in between the pop performances with their heartfelt ballads and R&B numbers. Benjamin serenaded the crowd with his original hits “Fresh Feelings” and “Lovers Forever”.

Christmas tradition is back LIVE and ON-GROUND at Ayala Triangle Gardens


Ayala Land makes Christmas happen with the return of Festival of Lights 2022!

 

After running virtual editions of the Festival of Lights to continue the well-loved tradition while ensuring safety during the pandemic, the most anticipated family Christmas tradition is back LIVE and ON-GROUND at Ayala Triangle Gardens with never-before-seen features to usher a BIGGER and BRIGHTER celebration.


 

Bobby Dy, Ayala Land President and CEO, shares, “The Festival of Lights is more than just a visual spectacle and delightful sounds. It is a well-loved annual tradition that has enabled us to connect with the community in a very unique way. It has brought joy to millions as it brings together people from all walks of life and from all over the country.”

 

In partnership with Kroma and Acid House, Ayala Land begins the affair with a fun and quirky introduction to the actual Light Show. Aimed to build a celebratory vibe by creating excitement in light the two-year pause, the intro video—following the idea of “The Christmas Lights Factory”—suggests that Santa and the elves are working hard to bring the Light Show back. Projected on the canopy façade, everyone gathered at Ayala Triangle Gardens will catch the elves as they prepare the Christmas lights machine to work. As soon as it does, the machine produces lights of various shapes, colors, and sizes. The elves, then, pick these up and transport each element from the screen to the trees surrounding ATG. It ends with Santa with a powerful switch that turns everything on, ready for the Light Show.

Director Ohm David and Lighting Designer Sueyen Austero conceptualized this year’s grand presentation. As Christmas tunes play, visuals will be projected on the trees around ATG. It begins with moving constellations that slowly form colorful indigenous patterns to tell the story of creation. As the scene builds, the screen blacks out then reveals stars, halos, parols, and other festive icons, which then merge to form a kaleidoscope of images. Moving and turning, it will ultimately end with an explosion of colors.

 

Accompanying the light show are three holiday medleys. The first is an orchestral rendition headed by the Manila Symphony Orchestra, followed by an upbeat TikTok rendition arranged by Jazz Nicolas and Mikey Amistoso, in collaboration with Tris Suguitan. The show concludes with a soothing chorale rendition by Jazz Nicolas and Mikey Amistoso.

 

The Festival of Lights has been globally recognized as as one of the best Christmas displays in the world, with many awards and citations received over the years. Bobby Dy furthers, “It’s a platform to showcase the Filipino talent. Together with our team, select Filipino designers, musical composers, and many local artists, have worked together to create this one-of-a-kind original show.”

Everyone is invited to watch the Festival of Lights at Ayala Triangle Gardens running every night until January 8, 2023. The show plays every hour, with the first run at 6pm and last run at 10pm.

Jollibee and its creative agency Publicis JimenezBasic (PJB) show the kind of Christmas that Pinoys love and have longed for in the fast-food chain’s latest ad for the holidays. Titled “Sa Jollibee, Sarap ng Pasko!”, the video depicts different exciting reunions and celebrations of families, made even better with best-tasting Jollibee favorites like Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, and Burger Steak. 

While the past two Christmases have veered away from the usual holiday festivities that Filipinos are known for, Christmas in 2022 is shaping up to be much brighter and exciting. Pinoys now look forward to making up for the missed celebrations and once again sharing the all-out joy this season – and Jollibee hopes to capture this in the video and its upbeat jingle.


“The campaign is special because in essence, it took two years in the making. This campaign stands for two years of missed reunions, hugs, and long Christmas dinners—things that made Christmas special are now back. This year is the year kung kailan babawi tayo sa sarap at saya, and we’re doing it together with Jollibee,” says Lucas Luchico, Creative Director of PJB.

 

The beginning of the video shows how past get-togethers were done online—a shared experience of many as everyone navigated pandemic restrictions while making it a point to still connect with loved ones during a challenging time. 


“The creative process was a personal one for all of those involved. It was filled with retrospection, and it was a creative expression of our collective wish to bring back the ‘sarap ng Pasko’ that we all miss,” adds Luchico.

 

As Jollibee endeavors to bring back the happy and fun moments people look forward to during the most wonderful time of the year, the rest of the video shows several vignettes of joyful Christmas celebrations. This includes a family going to a brightly lit Jollibee Drive-Thru, a group of friends having their Christmas get-together in a Jollibee store, mascots, store teams and delivery riders happily dancing, and an extended family coming together to celebrate the holidays at their beautifully decorated home.

DHL Express partners with Kythe Foundation for "Share Hope Campaign"


DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has launched the DHL Rewards holiday campaign called “Share Hope Campaign” in partnership with Kythe Foundation. This program has been launched in the spirit of the upcoming holidays and as part of its purpose of “Connecting People, Improving Lives”.

 

For every international shipment sent between October 1 and December 31, 2022, customers will get raffle entries and the chance to win Christmas gift baskets worth Php5,000 each.
