Who inspired you to read and what's the first book that caught your fancy. I started reading when I was 6 years old. My father thought me how to read and memorize all the characters in the book by randomly questioning me how I felt about the characters and story. As far as I remember, my father accompanied me to this little bookstore near our apartment, and he let me choose books.
The first book that my father bought was Rapunzel. Then came, Snow White, Cinderella, The Magic Porridge Pot, The Ginger Bread Man, Alice in Wonderland and so forth.
When in high school, I got addicted to Sweet Dreams Series and Sweet Valley High. I got around 100 books bought during that time. As I grow older, I have been buying detective and suspense thriller books, then transitioned to Chic Lit Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella for light reads.
Now that I am older, before buying any bestseller, I googled the Top 10 from the Barnes and Noble first. Or check out Book Barista's instagram to get to know what she is reading or recommending. That's where I discovered Gone Girl, Sharp Objects, The Girl on the Train, Into the Water and now The Girl Before by JP Delaney and The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn.
When I am down and out and about to fall into the pit of depression. Only a book would help me light up. I find comfort when I am reading. It help me see things in a positive way. It makes me weigh things over. It calms. It makes me feel alive.
