Vote Pilipinas encourages everyone to participate in the Magparehistro Ka! Challenge a social media campaign

With a little over two weeks left for voter registration, Vote Pilipinas, the non-partisan non-profit online and offline campaign on voter registration,  urges Filipinos eligible to vote to register for the upcoming 2022 national elections.

Since September 11, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has been holding a national synchronized mall registration in an apparent bid to accommodate more voter applicants in the country. One may see the full list of Robinsons, SM, and Ayala Malls across the Philippines that are conducting voter registration through this link.

Everyone is encouraged to be guided by the reminders from COMELEC:

1. Voter registration is suspended in ECQ areas, and will automatically resume once the quarantine status is downgraded to MECQ, GCQ, MGCQ or no quarantine classification.

2. Only applications from residents of the locality where the mall is located, or from those intending to transfer their registration record to the locality, will be accommodated.

3. Limited number of slots in consideration of mall hours and strict adherence to health protocols.

4. Application forms are available for free at the site. Forms may also be downloaded at comelec.gov.ph, or accomplished online at irehistro.comelec.gov.ph. For application forms filled out via the mobile app, just present the QR code.

5. Bring at least one valid ID (original and photocopy) and your own ballpen.

Vote Pilipinas will be hosting the last leg of its #MagpaRehistroKa Town Halls this month on September 20, 2021 entitled Magparehistro Ka! A Town Hall for Overseas Filipino Workers and another one on September 24, 2021 for the Magparehistro Ka! GRAND TOWN HALL for the last stretch before the Sept. 30 voter registration deadline. Available over Zoom, Facebook Live, and Kumu, these town halls will be a virtual gathering of key officials from the COMELEC where they get to share the latest news on the country’s election systems and voter registration.

Lastly, Vote Pilipinas encourages everyone to participate in the Magparehistro Ka! Challenge a social media campaign set to incentivize newly registered voters who are encouraged to post their selfies and captions detailing why it’s important for them to register to vote.

To participate in this challenge, newly registered voters simply need to post a photo of themselves on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, answering the question in their caption: “Bakit mahalagang magparehistro?” Participants must follow @votepilipinas, use the hashtags #MagpaRehistroKa, #VotePilipinas, #RegisteredtoVote, and #LiveSmartVoteSmart and send a photo of their registration stubs and proof of entries to the Vote Pilipinas account.
